They had a good deal listed on a Beretta Silver Pigeon I. Their "updated hourly" inventory showed "2 in stock". I purchased, got the confirmation, had my FFL contact them. Heard nothing for over a week. I reached out to make sure everything was okay, and I received the following:
"Unfortunately we are having an issue with Beretta and at this time we are not able to fill this order. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, I have had to cancel order XXXXXX and I have sent the refund to the payment processor, it depends on your card issuers policies to when the funds hit your account but normally within 5 business days."
I pull up ManVentureOutpost.com, and guess what? Updated hourly inventory? Shows 2 in stock. I check an hour later? Shows 2 in stock. I wrote an email to customer service notifying them of the issue and never received a response.
In case you're wondering, their system still shows 2 are in stock.
Possibilities:
1. They are having an "issue" with Beretta. Unlikely. If you are, then pull the items that are no available for sale.
2. They realized they were selling at a loss. Fine, but just say that it was a pricing error.
3. Their inventory system **** (which they say is updated hourly). Not good.
So the best case they are incompetent and their inventory system is not to be trusted and the worst case they are dishonest and unreliable. Either way, they're off the list.
It would have been nice to have been contacted and it would have been even better to have had them try to offer some sort of solution. They did neither.
I had purchased from they previously and had a decent, clean transaction. Unfortunately, that was and will be my last transaction with them."
