Company like this gives internet shopping a bad name

"Ordered 10 October 2019 still waiting for my order or refund because they promised as soon as they received my order back they will refund me we now in 2021 March. But now my email just gets rejected undelivered. Goodness knows I have been patient and send enough emails. I will never buy anything from overseas. "

"Here's the email I sent them just now...

"I ordered the Booq bag from you guys and have called twice in regards to the status and mishandling of my package (which for some reason is in Oregon right now).

I called a second time last night Wednesday March 9 at 5:30pm CST and was informed that my package would be re-routed (even though I was re-assured the first time I called about 3 nights ago). I requested that an email be sent out, and the spokesperson stated that his assistant/secretary would handle the matter and send me an email to confirm that the address had been changed. My last question was in regards to when my package would arrive since I needed it by no later than Friday (original arrival date was March 9th at 4:30pm) and I was told "It should arrive around the same time it was originally supposed to."

I got nothing, no notice... just a lack of communication. The address WAS changed (I found out by calling Fedex today because it didn't show online). I understand that it was probably Booq who input a wrong address, but all I ask AT LEAST is a decent level of communication about a mismanaged package that I paid your company for. The shipment is now expected to arrive on Tuesday the 15th. I SWEAR I heard the Megamax spokesperson say something along the lines of "expedite shipping to meet your needs by this weekend."

Two thumbs down for brushing a matter under the carpet and lack of communication."

"Gads! I wish I had found this rating site before I TRIED to use them.What a waste of time. When I ordered a lcd monitor, I spoke to them by phone. They told me they had it "in stock". 30 days later they still do not have it and now don't know if, or when, they will get it. I cancelled today.These are missleading people. Just read the other comments about them, and believe! "

"STAY AWAY FROM MEGAMAX!!! This is the most horrible online retailer I've encountered since I started buying items online for the past 5 years. On March 2003 I ordered a heatsink and a ducting mod from their site. About 3 days later I recieve no information that has been shipped yet, so I give them a call. Some lady with a slight asian accent picks up and I ask her why it hasn't been shipped. She replies that it was already shipped and she would email me a tracking number and I should recieve the package soon. After a few days pass, still no package or email. I give them another call and the same lady picks up and I ask the samething, the lady then says there was some UPS mix up and she'll send me an email when she sorted it out. Okay, after 2 weeks from when I made the purchase, still no freaking package or email. I call them AGAIN and get the SAME lady and I tell her I want my refund. She says she will process the refund the order right away. It's been 8 MONTHS since then and NO package OR refund. I was so fed up with them I just didn't want to bother with it anymore. I wish I found this site long ago to give everyone else that had problems a warning. So to anyone thats reading this and thinking of purchasing from MEGAMAX, STAY AWAY THEY ARE CROOKS!!!"

"AN ABSOLUTELY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. I ordered four computer parts as a single order (Apr 20), received one item within 5 days (Apr 25), two items two weeks 1/2 later (May 7). They never shipped the fourth item and two of the items that did ship were WRONG.

The site clearly explained in full detail (incl. part no.) that the processor I purchased was a AMD 2600+, received a 2400+, they insisted it was a TYPO (the entire item description?!) and therefore not their responsibility.

I received a replacement item (May 7) for one of the wrong items, was BILLED in full for the replacement and have not yet received a refund for the part I sent back (they signed for it May 13).

The second item (processor) I returned under RMA for refund. As for the part they never shipped, I simply asked for a refund having dealt with this headache for three weeks by that point.

Have NOT received ANY refund (totals over $750) yet, they insisted it’s being processed – over two weeks and nothing! Now I have to turn it over to my credit card fraud department.

I have been purchasing on-line since 1997 and have NEVER experience such horrible customer service or incompetence. BE WARNED – they’re prices are some of the lowest but the risk is TOO great, you WILL pay more in the end.

"Terrible reseller, stay far away! Their nice looking website makes you think you're dealing with a professional company but in reality you're dealing with a bunch of crooks! I placed an order and they never shipped it, yet they charged my credit card in full on the same day of order. Wondering where my package was, I emailed them several times but got no response. Finally had to get my credit card company involved on a chargeback. "

"i purchased a abit kt7a motherboard
for 80.00 pricewatch stated that i would be charged 7 to 11 dollars for shipping which i left in the comment box because it showed 15.55 as the shipping cost when the motherboard arrived it was doa i called the company to report that i need a replacement the customer service lady stated we will ship another one out immediately you should have it by next week just return the doa motherboard i called the following week the manager stated to me that they would first have to receive the doa motherboard before they shipped a replacement i stated that i had been overcharged for shipping she stated she had no idea about the posted shipping at pricewatch and she would have to talk to the people that do the website and i would have to make a complaint to get my 4 dollars back i asked why i had to ship the product back at my own expense she stated it not the companys fault if the board arrives doa and why should they pay i returned the motherboard with usps tracking this very important when dealing with this company i checked the tracking and the board sat at the post office for 3 days before i called the company and again spoke to the manager and asked why is it still sitting at the post office i was told the post office never gave them notice about a pick up or attempted delivery I gave them the tracking number stated its at the post office when can i expect the new board to be shipped 3 days i was told i asked to be called and have a tracking number left on the answering machine or it emailed to me i was told ok 7 days later the doa motherboard was picked up from post office 2 weeks later i called credit card company and complained about merchant after getting on the phone 3 way call with manager and credit card company my new motherboard was suddenly found when asked why it hadn't been sent no reason given when asked when they planned to send i no date could be given so i asked for my money back she stated their would be a restocking fee applied credit card company refund 74.00 lost 21.55 on this transaction this is one of the worst company's i have every dealt with no 800 phone number to call only a long distance number when you ask who am i speaking with they refuse to give their names out

"I want to report my recent experience with Megamax.com. I ordered from them a Samsung flat-panel LCD monitor, having determined via www.pricewatch.com that they had a very good price on this monitor. However, before placing the order I noticed something unusual about their estore website--nowhere on the site was any information posted about their refund and exchange policies. When I discovered this deficiency, I thought it was probably a deliberate omission done to conceal unusally draconian policies. But I went ahead and placed the order for the monitor at their website, because I knew the monitor had a 3-year Samsung warranty and that I could always go to the manufacturer if there were problems with it and because I was doing this online shopping during the weekend at a time outside of Megamax's stated telephone and email customer support and thus could not conveniently contact them to get their policy info.

Megamax handled the processing of my order very efficiently, which included emailing me an order receipt with instructions for tracking the UPS delivery progress. They shipped the monitor out within 24 hours and I received it in good condition in 5 business days via UPS ground shipping.

I hooked up the monitor to my PC and it worked generally well, but there was an uneveness in the backlighting that made the screen image appear considerably darker near the top than the bottom. It was a problem that needed to be fixed but there were no adjustments available to the user to correct it; so, the monitor would have to be sent in for repair or replacement. Then I wondered if the Megamax exchange policy might cover my need, and it occurred to me to check the invoice that came with the monitor to see if their exchange policy was stated there, since, as I said, this policy doesn't appear on their website. Yep, there it was printed at the bottom of the invoice and, as I had suspected, it was bad--even worse than I had imagined. Here it is verbatim with their own bold type:

. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUND ONCE GOODS ARE RECEIVED AND ACCEPTED BY THE BUYER
. Exchange is allowed if it is requested within 7 days after receipt by buyer of the goods. There shall be a restocking charge for 20% of the purchase price of the goods sold.
. Returns will be accepted only in the original packaging.
. There shall be a $20.00 processing charge for each bounced check.

Note in this policy statement that the 20% "restocking charge" is for exchanges--not refunds, which they "absolutely" prohibit.

So, for me to have exchanged my monitor through Megamax would have cost me a fee of $68.60 on top of the expense of shipping the monitor back to them--FERRRGETIT!

The bottom line with Megamax is: Once you make a purchase from them, you're on your own, and so, you better be absolutely sure there's a warranty from a reputable manufacturer to take care of you if something's not right.
