"I ordered 256 megs of PC100 low density ram and they sent me high density. I sent it back for exchange and I was willing to pay extra for low density. They have not replied back to me and now it seems their website is offline. They are hard to get ahold of and so far I am not pleased at all."
"I was sold 4 sticks of 256 meg 133 mhz sdram that was supposed to work in any computer. The sdram would not work in 4 different computers. I was told to send back the memory by the owner and he would send me 4 different memory sticks. I sent the memory sticks back to Memory Wizards and have not heard from them to date. I have emailed them dozens of time with no response. A zip off artist named Shayman. If you want more info : ****@**** "
"What a scam! I have been ordering computer parts off the internet for six years and never have I come across a worse company. I ordered a DIMM and put a PO Box as my shipping address. Instead of asking me to provide an alternate address (because the insured Airborne Express I paid for doesn't ship to poboxes) they just sent it uninsured Priority Mail, and it was then lost in the mail. They didn't refund me the difference in shipping, they didn't refund me the cost of the RAM I never got (it's now two months later), and they only replied to my emails once I threatened to challenge the charges on my credit card. This is a ludicrous front for defrauding people. Never order with them, ever.
UPDATE: Just now, January 8th, 2004 I received the order. This was pure luck on the part of the Postal Service, and I had not received any replies whatsoever to my emails to MemoryWizards.com customer service about reshipment or refunding. I'm just glad now the $40 wasn't entirely a waste."
"I ordered a 256 mb stick of SODIMM memory from there website, no probs there. It is now Nov. 12 and I have received neither the product, nor replies to numerous emails. I thought this company had fallen through or something til I found this website and saw that there were a ton of problems beforehand. Something needs to be done about all of this."
"Received a 6 in 1 internal card reader built by Soyo. Was defective and returned unit with a RMA.
It is now Oct 30th and have sent four notices over this time period and still have not received my replacement unit per e-mail from MemoryWizards.
They took you money and ran."
"Well, I've purchased from this company for the first and last time. They gave me entirely wrong RAM and it was defective on top of all. Now, I've RMA'd it to them, but no reply for almost a month. I know that they have received it but they haven't given me $1 from my $300+ purchase. If anyone has these problems, please email me at ****@**** . If there's enough of us, we can call up the postmaster, the FBI and consumer protection groups and sue for mail fraud. It seems that this company has screwed everyone over."
"absolutely wonderful. Great costumer service, Item as described.A+"
"Tried memory on 4 different systems all did not work, their ad makes false representations that it works on most laptops.
No support no contact information. Only response is email. Response time is horrible. No phone to contact. Vendor claims they don't own a phone. Trying to get right product they cannot confirm whether what I ordered is correct or not and cannot supply right memory to order. I would not order anything from this company. No cooperation or assist after order made. Don't take a chance when ordering from them. I was willing to take loss on shipping and returning product but not sure I want to take a chance sending it back reading some of the problems on this site, i'll let the credit card company and the Better Business Bureau look into it. I've told all my tech friends not to order from this company. Also spoke to other resellers who mentioned this place is a scam. Stay away from this co."
"We had a very bad experience ordering memory from this company. We had a problem with our order and they were not very helpful and did not communicate with us well. Apparently their record keeping is not very accurate because they kept saying they didn't receive the package when we returned it, then they said they didn't have our order or customer info in their database. We also had frustrating problems with their delivery service Airborne express. It turned out that this business is located in a private residence so our return shipment got left outside the doorstep without anyone receiving and signing for it. Memorywizards still have never acknowledged that they received it although we did see a partial refund on the credit card. Apparently it was a partial refund because they charged us an outrageous "restocking fee". They never even attempted to exchange this for the correct memory so in the end it cost us money and time and we ended up with nothing. To make matters worse, there were a couple of phone #s listed for the company on there site and on Pricewatch but all of these numbers were disconnected or no longer in service. Then they were very unresponsive to our emails, taking days to answer and then only to give us empty excuses and confusing explanations. On top of it all we are still trying to straighten out the fee with Airborne express for our return shipment. Against our wishes they sent it express over-night and charged us nearly $40. Overall I would rate our experience with memorywizards.com as exceptionally poor and disappointing and we won't use them again nor would we recommend that anyone else do."
"ordered on the 29of july, billed the 30th, given a airborne shipping # that airborne has no idea of. Called a few #'s i found from doing a who is on memorywizards.com and the number listed from the credit card charge, both disconnected. Not looking good. I put an order in over a month ago and it went great, quick turn around, so i thought i'd give repeat business.
Please dont call the # in the post below, its a guys cell phone who keeps getting call about memory wizards....
Can anyone help?"
"I ordered PC100 RAM, 256MB. Looks like others are having problems with it also. I tested this RAM in a machine that takes PC133 and it works perfectly... problem is that the RAM is PC133. I am waiting for a response form thier RMA dept and I dont expect to get one. Then they can have fun dealing with my credit card company after I dispute the charge. Also I did get a phone number because it showed up on my statement but they dont appear to want to answer it: ***-***-****.
-------Update----
This comapny is spweing BS out of thier ass...
"Do you know that PC100 memory is no longer manufactured? As stated on our website and that we ship PC133 memory, but it is backwards compatible, if your bios supports it"
hmmmm actually I don't see that anywhere on thier site... and if the mem was backward compatible it would be able to be downclocked but it can't be, it will only run at PC133. They also stated they were getting bouncebacks to my e-mail address which is near impossible, I have NEVER had anyone have a hard time reaching me because of bouncebacks.... they forwarded me this totally fake bounceback because I asked to see it. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FORM THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. I have repoted them to thier "store" provider: InstanteStore.com and also to the BBB: www.bbb.org If anyone else has any probles with them e-mail: ****@**** and let them know, he wants to hear about it.
One good thing is they are refundung me completely and also crediting me for the shipping back to them."
"Ordered a PC100, 256MB SODIMM module that did not work in a Thinkpad 600x, Inspiron 3700, 3800, or 4000. I've checked to make sure that the memory will work in these laptops and this one doesn't. So, I figure I got a bad chip.
I emailed MemoryWizards July 3 and still haven't heard from them yet."
"I ordered 2 Memory sticks & 3 fans. They charged me alright but never delivered the dam package. I hope I will get a fund! I will never order from this sham of a company again! "
"I bought some ram for a friend’s old computer. It’s supposed to be EDO SIMM’s, 32megs each. I paid more because of their good rating but I am disappointed. The good: they shipped the ram immediately and I got it in two days. The bad: The ram doesn’t work with this computer. That part isn’t their fault but their support is poor. I was going to call to find out why the ram didn’t work but there is no phone number anywhere on their site. I was going to print the online RMA but the it runs off the right side of the page so you can’t see much of it to fill it out (I finally copied and pasted into a word file ). The form says to use your order number as the RMA number, but the web site says to e-mail them for an RMA, and the RMA is only good for ten days. One of the two e-mail addresses on the site comes back as undeliverable (This account is over quota. - mta450.mail.yahoo.com). I finally got their phone number from the ultimate yellow pages and called them direct. The support guy told me the ram was the wrong type for this rare old MB and to send it back because they didn’t have ram that would work in this computer. At this point I am not hopeful of getting a refund."
