In my last 3 purchases over the last month and a half I have had issues with two of them that their customer service has been inept at addressing. "Horrible experience. I sold an American girl doll clothes outfit for $80 that the buyer reported was damaged upon arrival and they said that my item wasn’t sufficiently packaged and therefore would not be covered in Mercari shipping protection. This was packaged in 2 cardboard boxes with shipping paper. They never provided any evidence that it was damaged. I can’t file a claim with USPS and now I don’t have the item or the $80. Feel completely cheated. Stay away from this company!!! Scam!"

"I used to use this company all the time, however I will no longer be selling through them. I sold an item that weighed .5 lbs and the customer paid for a shipping label that was $4.99. I drop it off to USPS who says no word about the shipping label being insufficient at the time. Mercari then takes an extra $9 out of my sold item funds because USPS claims the item was one ounce over the label limit. Charge an extra 200% of the original shipping price that the customer was paying for in the first place over one ounce? That I wasn’t even informed of when I dropped it off? Why did I even bother selling my item here if I won’t make any money off the sale? Not to mention their fees are ridiculous. "
"What everyone should know about this awful Merchant! They do NOT issue refunds back to your credit card. They only give Mercari Bucks that need to be spent again on Mercari. In order for the seller to get paid on orders, the buyer is pressured into accepting the goods as received and MUST rate the seller within 3 days. This releases the funds to the seller HOWEVER in the event a defective item or any reason the buyer's satisfaction window CLOSES once done and is basically screwed in the event of a problem. Even if the seller is in agreement, Mercari will not permit the seller to issue a refund. WTF? Their customer service robotic staff is unsupportive, they just want their commission. There is no way a company like this will survive. People need to know Mercari tactics before getting involved. Stay with the quality companies such as Amazon, ebay and Ali Express."
"This company allows sellers to post and sell products with statements like "NEW" or "UNOPENED" that DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY and there return policy is based on a review that consumer leaves. It is so wrong because I bought Apple AirPods Pro for my son's birthday and I did a review on them so quickly only because the website continuously pushes notifications to do so. The product looked great in the box but when my son actually used them, just 7 days later from order date, they absolutely DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AT ALL. When I contacted Mercari for a return I was told "too late since you already submitted a review" so DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY! AND ALL SELLERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR KNOWINGLY SELLING MALFUNCTIONED PRODUCTS! "

"This company operates with no support and rates sellers within 3 days even if they defrauded you. They let items be sold against their own T&S and provide no recourse and no way to get your money back. Even if you point out something within 3 days, they don't give a refund, only expiring "credit". Fraud company."
