"While prices may seem attractive at first, they are not especially when you realize the dismal shipping service. My order was placed on Nov 19th. It is now Nov 28 and my package is sill in transit with an expected delivery date of Dec 2 (that would be two full weeks from LA to Washington, DC!) I placed a similar order at Trianglecables.com on Nov 23 (for better prices) and received this order already on Nov 26 -- and that was with free shipping! I'll never be ordering from Meritline again will always use Trianglecables instead for all my cable and internet system needs."

"Great price, fast and reasonable shipping process. I'd choose MeritLine again. The item I ordered comes in several colors, but blue was the only one available. Fortunately, that was the color I wanted.

I had previously ordered this item (iphone case) from another major e-tailer. It took forever to ship and receive the item, and when I finally got it, it was the wrong product. Got the exact same item from MeritLine for $20 less.

"I would categorize myself as neither an expert nor a beginner RC helicopter aficionado, but somewhere in the middle as an average
user.

That said, I was excited for this new helo to arrive promptly and it did. I opened the package and inspected my new helo and observed some nicks and minimal scratches on it - I chalked it up as manufacturing hiccups and/or QA testing and thought nothing more of it. After charging, as per poorly written instructions that I had to decipher, I began my course of test flying patterns.

I noticed that the helo did not keep a stable vertical balance and kept drifting either up or down depending on the current path it received from the remote. I attempted to fine tune my remote's stick, to keep it hovering at a desired level to no avail. At this point, I was a little disappointed, but it was still workable with just more use of the remote to compensate for keeping a level. Landings were a bit rough because of this inability to hover as it would go down with gravity and I had to drive stick up to counter the downward velocity/acceleration.

After 3 days of testing, about 3 flights/day, my helo was rendered useless. Due to the inability of controlling the level accurately with the throttle controls, the landings were sub-par, although I managed to land a few successfully. Those that were not successful, the crash landings were in a controlled manner to minimize any damage and didn't have any really 'ugly' landings. The thoughts of those scratches when I received it back into my mind, thinking perhaps this was a returned or refurbished helo.

Regardless, after one of the flights, the helo no longer wanted to go up and was spinning slowly uncontrollably in one direction with no help from trimming nor remote control. I suspect the plastic gear that turns the lower blade broke the internal mechanism that is attached to the silver tube that turns the blade. The helo is now useless in flight.

So I emailed support and mentioned what had happened, however because I threw out the packaging (BTW, I always throw away packaging, because what I buy I intend to keep and trust it will work - my naiveté and weakness of not being a pack-rat), they cannot exchange the defective helo. This means to me that the packaging is more important than the product itself apparently. The very few times I have had to return something, has been without packaging and never ran into a problem of being completely out the money for something defective.

Lesson learned: Keep packaging from orders from Meritline.

I am not trying to do anything crooked, I just want what I believe is fair and that was to exchange it, even if I had to pay for shipping it back, which also I haven't ever had to do previously with other merchants. My saving grace may be that I paid by credit card and may look into putting a dispute through them, although I would just rather have a working helicopter than getting my money back.

"I ordered a flashlight with the expensive 18650 batteries. The flashlight arrived with no batteries or charger as originally advertised. My receipt clearly shows batteries included. Customer service said that they will not send me the batteries and that they can change product descriptions at will. This feels like fraud since I would not have bought the item if it did not include the expensive batteries. Without the batteries, I could get a similar flashlight cheaper at a competitor. Clearly this business will not take responsibility and uses the "not responsible for errors" to defraud people. "

"I've literally ordered dozens of times from Meritline.com. The items are cheap and the quality is usually better than one would expect for the price. I've only had problems twice with my item not arriving as expected. The first time it happened I contacted Meritline.com and they promptly shipped a replacement item. The second time it happened they credited me the amount of the purchase. You do have to be careful with some of the items available because they can be junk, but if you read the reviews on the site it's pretty easy to determine which are worth purchasing and which are not.
