"They **** you in by offering an array of mirco tools geared towards small/ detailed precision work.... Nothing that I have received from Micro mark is anywhere close to quality ....smaller more trivial items like drill bits ect... will get the job done, but i would use caution if purchasing anything more expensive... the vise I purchased was china junk that cost me $15 to return. The drill/ tap fixture for $100 is a total steaming pile... Look else where"

"My first purchase from Micro-Mark.
I was searching for some stiff "Aircraft" plywood.
"Aircraft plywood" is on average about twice the price of regular craft or other plywood.

There are basically two criteria for plywood.
1. The number of plies (usually 2-7)
2. The thickness and size of the sheet.

Good luck finding any store (except Bud's) that states any information about the number of plies.

New note:
I just looked again at the piece of plywood and it is stamped "BUD NOSEN MODELS". While I do not make models currently, this name has ALWAYS (many years) been in my mind selling the highest quality products.

Micro-Mark listing stated "Aircraft" plywood at half the price of ANYWHERE else on-line.

My Results:
1. Very fast shipping at a reasonable price (3 days)
2. Plywood (1/4 inch thick), upon inspection, is a 5 Ply Plywood (clear sanded both sides), high quality, making it well qualified for the "Aircraft" title.

This is NOT bendable plywood for forming plane parts but is excellent for parts needing stiffness.

Micro-Mark seems to have all the qualities that I (and most buyers) look for in an online seller:

NUMBER 1. FAST reasonable shipping
NUMBER 2. Large selection, quality and excellent prices

Do not believe RR's when they state these 2 items don't count and you shouldn't mention them in a review.

These two things are EVERYTHING in online shopping and ALL I need to know when buying on-line. All other qualities are transient and of no consequence."

"I would not recommend doing business with Micro-Mark. I purchased a Microlux Metal Shear/Brake and it does not work. In general it is poorly made and machined. The bracket that is supposed to hold the blade in place is defective, so when the blade is tightened enough to cut, it pops out of the bracket.
The original shear had obviously been used and even had internal screws that were bent from someone trying to get it to work.
They did pay for shipping for me to return it but only when I pleaded. They sent a second shear, with the SAME problem. They say they tested it before sending but I was very careful to note the packing and it was obvious that it had never been opened.
Now I have to pay the shipping to return the second shear,$57. Added to my original shipping cost, I have now wasted $100, with nothing to show for it.
The customer service person, Carol, was rude and unyielding, which is really gutsy since their product is defective.
I made the original purchase in mid-August so this has gone on well over 6 weeks. I have spent many many hours trying to get it to work and talking to Micro-Mark customer service and tech assistance, all a waste of time.
I have a friend who has a shear/brake purchased from another company which works just fine - when looking at the 2 side-by-side it's obvious that the blade holder on the Micro-Mark version is not made correctly and the overall quality is very poor.
Because the problem is a factory defect, Micro-Mark should reimburse my shipping costs, but they rudely refused."

"This company rips off products designed and built by other companies in a niche market with no remorse for the damage they cause on smaller companies. In a small hobby ecosystem there is no need for a company to make cheap knock offs of other people's hard work and ingenuity. I have no respect for a company that chooses to copy rather than to innovate.

Driving costs down to rock bottom prices is not always desirable by all and is one of the core problems in America's economy. Cheaper is not always better and micro mark is a perfect example of cheap crap products. Until they discontinue carrying rip off products they will not get another cent from me. ALL of the products they carry can be found elsewhere and usually in better quality or from the original creator of the product."
