"I ordered 2 hard drives for my failing server because the companies address was just in the next county. Five days later I still hadn't recieved my hard drives. After several calls I get a guy on the phone (with te sound of kids in the background)saying my parts are being shipped from California, not Michigan were their address is. I was told they don't stock parts, but they just order he parts from other companies. My advice is to order direct from the source and not use ths Expensive middleman."

"update: the RMA department contacted me and said that the condition of this part was "clearly stated in our PRIVACY POLICY". ok I would have never thought to look there....maybe in STORE POLICIES but not there. And it's FIVE PAGES down also. Beware this company. Their BBB rating is "C-" and now I know why. They offered an RMA but want to charge me 30% restocking. product listed as: Hitachi Ultrastar 750GB SATA-2....NEW BULK, but what I received was an OEM pull with an IBM badge and FRU number, dated May 2008, no silica gel dessicant, and sharpie-marker writing on the case!! No way is this puppy new!! I specifically asked if this product was new or a pull and was not informed that it was a previously used part. This drive has a FIVE year warranty thru Hitachi. When I verified the s/n my suspicions were confirmed that this was NOT a new device because Hitachi showed that i had to warranty it through the original computer manufacturer.
Another discrepancy is that their website advertises 'free shipping under 3.5 pounds'. On my order notes i asked for the free shipping or fedex saver if it was not available. The box shipping label shows 2 pounds...the FedEx online rate to my zipcode is $12.22--NOT the $23.48 i was billed. i am trying to reach them but "no one is available" so i have emailed them and put in a dispute at my credit card company. I'll update this if anything good comes out of this.

"Placed my order for a single drive on 4/30/2009 to replace a failing drive in an array. I received an order confirmation minutes later, but the order status has not changed since then. All attempts to contact the company have failed: 1) No one ever answers the phone; voicemail is not returned, 2) The order comment system on their website does not appear to work, 3) "Live" chat is never online.
I am contemplating canceling my order, but given the responsiveness of micropartsusa so far, I don't even think I would be able to.
Also, it's interesting to note how similar all the "positive" reviews for this company are. I wonder how many of them are genuine reviews?

Received the drive today. Appears to be in the advertised condition (new), and included the drive caddy. While I am glad to have my hardware and the price was excellent, my complaints regarding lack of communication and slow service stand."

"I was looking for a computer supplier that was in the Midwest, so items would be shipped quickly to my home. MicropartsUSA appeared to be from outside of Detroit, but the item was ground shipped from San Jose, CA. Later, I used Google Street View to look up MicropartsUSA's warehouse -- turns out, there is no warehouse .. it looks like a restaurant with apartments above. These guys are just running a website, jobbing out the orders from somewhere else.
Did I get my item? Yes. The order was fine, except for the slow shipment. These guys are just some affiliate of a larger retailer in California. Might as well avoid the middle man here."
