"I ordered a battery tester from Miles Kimble. It was very cheaply made and did not work properly. (a battery tester is so basic----how is THAT possible?) I also ordered a universal vacuum hose extension. It was NOT "universal" since it did not even come close to fitting my Bissell vacuum. It did not fit my mother's Eureka either. The hose also had an overpowering formaldehyde-type smell when taken out of the box. I called customer service about the problems, and the two people I spoke to I could barely understand since they did not speak clearly. The customer rewards program is a farce. I never got any reward as promised. It was supposed to be $20.00 from this order.
This company used to be better than this. The cost of sending items back is also completely put on the customer, even for defective items per the customer service reps. The return shipping will be expensive as to the vacuum hose. A very disappointing experience."
"Bought a baker's rack for $89 for my 94 year old mom for her room in assisted living. She didn't want it so I returned it. Shipping to return was $35.00. They've lost my business! First time buyer and I'm only going to be stupid ONCE! Don't buy from this company unless you know exactly what you're getting and sure that you want it. Too many places that have a much better customer service police. Again, don't buy from them!!!!!!

"They give me preferred credit and then when I placed one order, it went out smoothly, no long lines, no wait, it was like being through the fast lane of ecommerce. When I placed a 2 order, they ended up putting me on the slow lane of e commerce. It took longer than usual to wait for the elves at Miles Kimball to process my order, and also they wanted King George the 3rd to approve this order. When I called them up ,I asked them what is the hold up, and they said that the credit department has to approve this order before it can be released, but I talked to the one of the creditors at the credit department and I told them, and they said they have to go through this extreme moderation for a order to be shipped. I called them back up, because I had no time for play game of Monopoly with them, and told them to cancel my order, and they finally told me that it already has been cancelled, and I caught them lying to me all along, having the status saying it's on hold.
For now on I am shopping for these items they already have at Ebay and pay less for them, and not use their preferred credit plan. I am going to be paying off what I owe, and I am done with them for good. If want something from them, it's going to have to be through major credit cards or debit cards not their plan anymore. "
"I placed an order on December 15th. They had an email sent out that if you ordered by December 16th your gift was GUARANTEED delivery by Christmas if it was non-personalized. I ordered a NFL coffee cup for my dad so this was non-personalized. My delivery date on the shipping tracker says my package will be here on December 27th! I called customer service and they flat out tried to lie to me by saying that was for premium shipping only. I had the email right in front of me that says it was for standard shipping. The woman in the phone proceeded to reply, "Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh...I see that." HA! She said there was nothing they could do since the package was already sent out and that where they ship out from there was bad weather for 2 days. Might I add that my shipping confirmation was sent out yesterday, December 20th. They should have known when they sent it out late with the weather they should have upgraded my shipping for free. Way to ruin part of my Christmas. News flash Miles Kimball, if you guarentee shipping by Christmas and there's a storm it is on YOU to ship out my package with express delivery and pay for the extra charge since it's your error and guarantee. Now I'm going to have to give my father a late present. They offered me a $10 gift certificate to go towards a future purchase. That doesn't help my problem. Absolutely ridiculous."
"Walmart had a MK necklace on sale. I had gotten the advertisement deals for miles kimball items on Slick Deals app as well as on Brads Deals app. I early Sept ordered (7) immediately my mastercard was charged. That afternoon i received a notice they would ship Oct 1st. Oct 1st came & went. Then Miles Kimball sent me a email that they could not sell the item at "that prices" but that i could purchase it for 30% more. Really~? I went back to WM (still listed sale price) SD's (still listed sale price)? I said No I would like the item at the Advertized Price(s)& told them it was still on sale at two web page links. They Immediately said my order was cancelled. No refund received. They tell me call WM & WM tells me contact MK. Really sucks"

"I have a credit account with them and they keep sending me letters that they can't ship via my credit account because they need additional information I cal and tell them that I have changed my addres with them numerous times, then they ship items with no problem,then they send another letter saying they can't ship it due to a credit review, but there again they ship it.
I am so done with them, I'm paying off my account and that's the end of ever doing business with them again.
Tye are the only ones I have that problem with.

"Customer service is not very good at all. They do not answer any of your questions. I ordered a puzzle bench and it took over 7 weeks then I told them I wanted to cancel and all of a sudden they shipped the product that day. I will never order from them again"
"Not sure about the merchandise, because I ordered it on January 5th to have for a party I was having on the 17th. It is now the 18th and I'm still waiting. However, it appeared on my charge immediately. Did the "tracking" thing and my package seems to be making a trip around the US. I guess I can't blame Miles Kimball for this but evidently UPS isn't the greatest for shipping. "
"Purchased a snow windshield cover for my van. I paid shipping and tax for what I thought would be a nice priced item. What I received was a very small package of a weird shaped, paper thin piece of material with no clue as to how it was to be used. I called and was told they had no instructions and I could return it with me paying shipping both ways. What I thought was a reasonable deal of $20 I would get a return of about $10. My first and las purchase from Miles KIMBALL."
"I buy everything I want from them about twice a year, when they offer free shipping. I've been a customer of Kimball, Walter Drake, Harriet Carter & Carol Wright (mostly Carol Wright & Harriet Carter) for many years, buying from them products I could not find in local stores. Two years ago I stopped buying from Carter & Carol Wright because they failed to evolve adequately from traditional mail order to Internet Retailer.
The quality of Carter & Wright products declined and their shipping is too slow by today's standards. Now, I buy most of our hard to find products from StarCrest of California. They frequently offer special prices and free shipping.
Periodically, I buy from Kimball, whose prices are usually higher than the others but they have maintained product quality & they have really stepped up their shipping processing & speed. These are all old mail order catalog companies that have continued long after kings of mail order, Sears abandoned it and J.C. Penny's seriosuly scaled back.
I recommend Kimball. They sell hard to find products at competitive prices and they have modernized their processing and shipping to better match the big online stores such as Amazon, Newegg, Tiger Direct, & eBay "Top Rated Sellers." Kimball, like Starcrest, always gets my order right and unlike Harriet Carter and Carol Wright these days, Kimball doesn't offer complex confusing "free Shipping" deals, or ship out much cheaper products than you expected from the photo & description."
"I was skeptical about this company at first, so I did some googling and found that they have mediocre reviews. Some were good and some were really bad. Here's my experience.
Ordered two air conditioner supports on May 2, 2010 and got free shipping. The website says it can take 2-3 days for processing. Then allow another 5 days for the actual delivery. I received it today, May 7, 2010. Not bad at all for the cheapest ground shipping option. Items were heavy so I can't complain. I should also note that I received an email providing me with the tracking number the next day after my order (a lot faster than the 2-3 days time frame). They charge a weird processing fee ($1.99) and standard shipping depends on how much your total is. It might be overpriced depending on what you buy. But if your items are heavy, it is a definitely reasonable shipping charge.
Packaging was reasonably good. A big box for two small packages. It was stuffed with paper. The box got very slightly crushed but did not cause any damage at all. This was probably because of all the empty space in the box. So it was easy for pressure to damage it a little.
I found what i needed for a lot cheaper than anywhere else. I would definitely buy from them again."
