"I created a book for a friend's 80th birthday, with input from many people. Some people dragged their feet getting their pictures and personal notes to me (because trying to wrangle items from over 20 people never goes smoothly), So things came down to the last minute. I ordered a book specifically because the website said I'd have it by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I was leaving that night to go to Thanksgiving dinner and birthday party combo.

Immediately after placing the order, I chatted with Mixbook to confirm the info, and I was told there will be no problem. The representative said there was a very good chance I'd even have it by Tuesday. I chatted with Mixbook again each following day to keep track of the status, and I was told over and over that there was no problem. (Every chat with them took a long time because they had to put me on hold forever to get any information, even just the status.)

On the Tuesday that it was supposed to ship, I received an email around 3:30pm stating they were reimbursing me for the expedited shipping costs. No other communication, no other information, just that email. I chatted with them again, and I was told that although they had tried printing the book more than once, they had problems and it missed the deadline, but the book was now finished.

I pleaded that they try to get it out the same day still. First I was told they couldn't promise that, but eventually I was told that they would check with shipping and get back to me. I never heard back, and it was too late in the day by then (because of the extremely long time spent on hold). I contacted them again after 5pm and was told the book had shipped. They provided a tracking number which showed that a label was created, but it wasn't picked up. I needed to have the book the next day because I was taking it out of town, and they completely dropped the ball with barely any notification (other than the refund email).

The next morning I contacted them to determine whether the book had left the building, and they couldn't tell me. In case it hadn't shipped (which I was relatively sure it hadn't), I asked if the address could be changed to ship directly to the person the gift was for (since it was too late for me to get it). They said they'd have to check with shipping and get back to me. I explained that no one got back to me last time they said that, and I was promised I'd hear back in an hour. Over an hour later, I chatted with them again, and after being on hold for a while, I was told the book did indeed ship that day, but the address wasn't changed. About 30 minutes later I received an email from the previous representative (the one who said she'd contact me within an hour) verifying that the book shipped to the original address.

I left for my Thanksgiving trip without the book, and it showed up at my address the following Monday. Since I had contacted them in the morning on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, they had all day to change the address, but apparently it was too much work to create a new shipping label, and it was easier just to leave me in the dark until nothing could be done.

I received terrible service, with many missed opportunities to make things right. I will NEVER use them again or recommend them to anyone. (And there's nothing special about the quality of the book, so it's simple to use someone else going forward.)"
