"I have purchased motherboards, memory, hard drives, a case, and other equipment from MBX. I only had one problem and that was with my first order. The problem was handled the same day I notified MBX and satisfactorily to me. Their service has been excellent. Their prices may be tad higher than other places but I feel confident I will get what I ordered in working order with MBX. I have placed three orders with them and have been happy with all three of the orders."
"Very bad experience. Saw their ad in Computer Shopper a while back and bookmarked their site. Decided to browse their site and see what they're all about.
First off, their prices are on average about 20-40% higher than nearly everyone else. Putting this issue aside, and deciding to see if they're worth it, I decided to call them and inquire about a few products on their site. Big mistake! Their sales people don't really want to help you, they just want to make a sale. On top of that, they tend to be really pushy and want to know more about you and who you work for, as if that should initially matter.
So I ordered a product from their site and waited. And waited. And waited. Upon calling to inquire about my order, I discovered that it had been backordered without my notification. After about two weeks, I finally got my motherboard and CPU combo. It seemed to work fine, but I could have spent much less for better service and better people elsewhere. So I decided to return the stuff because I didn't want anything to do with the company. After a big hassle with their "Tech Support" (IF you could call it that), I finally got an RMA. Good riddance.
This will be the last time I buy from them. Take my advice, turn away!"
"Purchased a rackmount case, and I couldn't be happier with MBX's service! They've gone above and beyond the call! We accidentally ordered the incorrect CD-ROM (slim per manufacturer's specs, but the manufacturer had changed it!) and they handled the return quickly and professionally. Then the case was missing the ATX power supply backplate. They got with the manufacturer, and shipped it right away. And when we found that the backplanes did NOT operate the way they claimed with regard to Termination Power, they got out the short SCSI cable I needed in just two minutes!
I couldn't possibly be happier with the service they've given me. I'm definitely going to be shopping with them again. "
"Warning! Save your money and shop elsewhere. My experiences with Motherboard Express have been a nightmare. I've been trying to get a working MB from them for over 6 months. The original board, plus 3 replacements they've sent have all been defective. Turn around time was slow on replacements (3-4 weeks) and their tech support was worthless. Replacement boards didn't ship when they were supposed to. I had to call them on 2 of the RMAs because the shipment was late, and only after I complained did it ship out. The RMA status emails which they promised were sometimes late or never sent. All products returned to MBX were tested by them and confirmed as defective. To their credit though, they did let me charge shipping to their FedEx account on my last return. They seem friendly and do try to be helpful, but I think they're just out of control."
"I ordered a CPU fan and heatsink assembly. I later learned there had been a recall on the assembly and sent an email inquiring about an ETA. My response was instantaneous and courteous and they agreed not to charge me until the assembly was repaired and ready to ship. I am impressed with their customer service. Can't say much more than that because I have not received the product."
"OVERPRICED!!! By about 30-40%. When I called and asked if they could at least come close to matching competitors, they said that they charge more for "service", such as answering the phones on the first ring. They do have quality product, but not any better than competitors. Good company but rip-off artists when it comes to pricing."
