"Stay away from Mouser. Horrible shipping cost and impossible to return the product without a good reason. A detestable after-sales service."
"Nothing frustrates me more then trying to order a few inexpensive electronic components and getting screwed on ultra expensive UPS shipping or having to place a min. order.
None of this is the case with Mouser. They offer economy shipping and there's no min. order threshold. Their selection is huge and order processing was fast.
My only complaint is that it's difficult to search and narrow down the choices. Having a paper catalog might be a lot easier."
"I purchased parts form them and returned them in new condition a week later. They refused the return without a good reason. They have a return policy listed but are refusing to honor it. Like some of the other reviews I have had problems in the past with them listing parts in stock only to have them back ordered after placing the order. Do yourself a favor- even if digi-key is out of inventory stay away from mouser."
"Ordered a Wandboard quad (development board) for $191. The board arrived dead and doesn't power up. Called them right away, and they asked me to send them an email, but nobody replies after a few days..
Not happy nor satisfied, and definitely recommending to stay away from Mouser!"
"We had a very bad experience with Mouser trying to get this order held at the shipper (FedEx) since our company was closed for a week due to an employee death.
I contacted FedEx and they refused to hold the package. I then wrote the Mouser sales department very early informing them FedEx is refusing to hold our package with the reason being that Mouser gave them instruction that the order cannot be held - I was told since there is a "do not hold" order, they will not even hold it for pick-up. That was the most insane thing we ever heard on a prepaid order!
Mouser wrote me back a short while hour later but the reply did not addressed the problem we wrote them. They said write if you need them (Mouser) to do something, but they did nothing with FedEx after the first email. I wrote Mouser back that we need them to take off the do not hold order. I heard no reply.
And the service only got worse! Several un-replied emails later, my boss - the business owner then had to call Mouser later that day from outside the Funeral Home to try and get it straightened out. At the end of the day late Friday, Mouser emailed us saying the package was being Held at FedEx and gave us the location where it was.
Being Friday night, I was out with friend but figured I would cut out for 20 minutes thinking I would be able to go an pick up the package - but it turned out it was not even at the FedEx Mouser wrote us it was at. Mouser was closed so we again called FedEx which said again that we have to contact Mouser . FedEx was insistent that since Mouser is the shipper, they are the only ones why can change the shipping information.
So a short while later I searched on my phone the Mouser website and found the person's email who is supposed to be the Director of Service & Sales (Sonya). So I wrote her and the sales department sales again, but no one ever replied. That was last week
I guess when you even get the Director of Service & Sales involved and you still do not get a reply that speaks very loudly! JIT manufacturing is truly impossible having Mouser as the supplier.
"
"Mouser usually has good prices, we don't like their online experience (especially their search) but that is our biggest complaint. as others have said, shipping is extra high compared to other electronics suppliers and there really isn't any reason why they can't show shipping costs in the shopping cart like 99% of other online suppliers. Overall, we are not excited enough with mouser to make them our default supplier, we always shop and compare to allied and digikey before any order."
"I have not dealt with their return or customer service. Their prices are somewhat low, shipping cost via USPS first class/priority are decent and fast. I have ordered from them a couple times now for smallish orders when other sites do not have components I needed."
"I ordered 3 capacitors for a total of $2.30. My monitor died and needed these asap, so i figured I would get them 2day. I felt uneasy when they didn't reveal the shipping cost and said it would be estimated when shipped. I figured couldn't be anything crazy for something that weighs nothing. They charged me $57 for package that weighs about the same as 3 quarters."
"I have ordered from Mouser for years and never had a problem. I am always amazed at the shipping speed."
"Mouser only shipped half the parts ordered even though they claimed they were all in stock and back ordered the rest. The shipping costs was extremely over inflated as well. Next time I will only use Digi-Key when needing components."
"Same as everyone else here. Shipping costs were prohibitive (150% of product value) and hidden from me until the order was filled. Sigh."
"My first experience with Mouser was a pleasant one. It was a small order of peizo buzzers. Product was shipped quickly and was nicely packaged. I will do business with them again."
"I think mouser cheats customers on shipping. Their sales department / customer service also does not reply sometimes.
I called in to verify an item was in stock. Later when the order came it was not in it. I wonder if they said that it was in stock just to get my order?
From my last order, they sent me a tiny 3mm backordered part that weighed 0.000088lbs but charged me a full lb in shipping.
Their customer service wrote me saying most backordered items weighing under a lb ships free however they offered no explanation why they did different on this order.
After they screwed me on the shipping of the last backordered part, I got an email about another part is shipping that they put on backorder after I specifically wrote them no to any backorders after they overcharged me on the last item.
I can get items shipped from Bangkok for substantially less. Also the Bangkok companies customer service actually reply in a day and tells the truth if an item is not in stock, where Mouser's sales department has ignored me at times and I have had to resend my emails to their sales department to get a reply.
Sad when you get better service and lower shipping from the other side of the world, than a few states away!"
"Purchased an order from Mouser, and then got telemarketted by Texas Instruments who told me that Mouser provide my personal details, phone number, name, address to TI.
Spoke to Pete Shopp at Mouser and he informed me that Mouser gives my personal information to every company that makes every component on my order.
There is no opt out, and it also said on my order that they do not give my personal information to 3rd parties!
Asked Pete Shopp for Mouser to pay the damages I've incurred, and he told me "That wasn't going to happen". Very disappointed to hear this kind of approach from the Senior VP of Business Operations. Will never order again from this company as they zero respect for my personal information, and when they make a mistake, they won't even put it right!"
"Needed to order about 10 electronic components. One part at Digikey wouldn't be availble for a couple weeks, but all the parts showed up as in stock at Mouser so I decided to give Mouser a try and placed the order.
After placing the order it turns out one of the parts was not in stock and would not be available for 5 months! So I ended up having to place an order with another company and pay additional shipping costs.
Talked to mouser CSR and wasn't able to refund shipping cost (less than $5) for business reasons.
Tried mouser once and won't do it again."
