"I bought a zero turn (CUB) I was excited as it was shipped quickly, but that's where it went south, the mower arrived quick. packed in a 1x1 stick pallet. that was destroyed. the shipper called and apologized for the Pallet they had no idea why it would be shipped like this. it weighed 700+#'s
I called got told to go buy my own parts, Manager refused to talk to me. I had to get my credit card company to step in.....What a night mare!!! only one person cared and she had NO power!!!
then I was asked to re-pack it on the Pallet..... What pallet?? then I had to locate pallets and straps to ship it back, I had two days to get this all done and work full time????
if it was not for my awesome credit card company..... I would have been screwed!

"I bought a new cub cadet tractor and wanted to add a mulching kit to the order. They sold me a mulching kit for my mower that did not fit. When I went to return it, they want me to pay them to return it plus also pay for the return shipping!!! by the time I'm done my $95 purchase price will return me $60. I will never refer anyone or use this site again. I wish I would have checked these reviews prior to using this company"
"I initially though my purchase was a good deal, but the mower arrived damaged and missing parts. That's where my problems started. I had also ordered a mulching kit as well as an armrest kit for my new mower. I can't tell you if the shipper damaged the mower or if it happened at Mowers Direct. The air filter cover was cracked and it was missing a release latch and the area around the throttle was gouged. Also the Arm rest kit was missing all of it's hardware as was the mower, it was supposed to come with a parts bag and a manual. I uncrated the mower and sent pictures of the damage to them, they seemed pretty nice at first. I started the mower and noticed it was not running right, it was surging a lot. Their guy said this was normal and that it needed to be broken in. Well I'm not an idiot and have a fair amount of mechanical experience. I decided at this point my local Cub Cadet dealer was my best option. Indeed they found that the intake manifold was cracked and replaced the part. Meanwhile weeks had gone by and I was still waiting on the missing parts from MD. Long story short I eventually got some of the parts but not all and spent countless hours on the phone with very unhelpful people. A year later almost and I still don't have mounting hardware for my armrest kit as it is now discontinued? Buy Local"
"Had ordered a battery charger and discovered that it was the battery not the charger. Got in contact with Robert from mowers direct and received reply the same day. Was informed that I will receive a refund without having to return the item , charge was under $ 100 . How awesome is that. I would buy from this company again. "
"The bolts are missing to connect the battery to the terminal. The key is missing as well so we can’t even start this lawn mower, this is urgent so we need a phone call right away. This was wrapped up and dropped off so we couldn’t see inside the crate when it was delivered. It took an hour to get into the crate. This is a serious issue because we have no way to mow the lawn nor put it together and it needs to be done now. I am really mad because now we can’t even start it because we have no bolts for the battery and no key and what else is missing off this thing. We paid 3,000 for a lawn mower we can’t use, them the blade switch button is all scratched and worn. Is this used? I thought it was a new product. I sent the pictures and want my refund and come get your item as you stated with a full refund. I don’t know what else is wrong with this but the bolts holding the battery are missing. The knob to drop the blades is damaged. The key and manual is missing and I want a refund. No wonder you don’t have a review because you don’t want people to know how bad your company is. This is the most ridiculous expensive joke I have ever seen. I spoke to Brittany and she said we would get a full refund once we put it on the pallet and you would come and pick it up. Your knob to drop blades was broken, bolts and key and manual missing and your staff lies. Brittany, Cody, Kim the manager, all ridiculous. Come get your broken up items and refund my money as promised. Tony apparently your the owner but your staff refuse to let us talk to you. "
"These guys really **** - esp. "fat Jake" or "robot Jake" - REFUSE to respond to questions AFTER the sale. I finally stumbled on "Chat" on the manufacturer's website, who helped me clear it up. "Mowers Direct" is a re-seller, just like Home Depot or Lowe's. Ever try to get someone to answer a question at one of these stores? If they don't actually turn around & walk away when they see you coming, they seldom can answer a substantive question about the product. That's how it is with the "Mowers Direct" pack of slugs. They "walk away" by just ignoring you - they ALREADY HAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!"
"The mower arrived on time. When I opened the box the entire mower was covered with a thick coating of dust. After 5 minutes of use, the carburetor starting leaking a lot of gasoline. I tried to start it but it would not start. Now it’s off to the shop for repairs. I paid 600 dollars for this? Didn’t receive a receipt or some sort of proof of purchase!"
"I bought a lawn mower from them. It came with the handle being cracked. The box had no support whatsoever so I was not surprised. Called them and they said they'll send the replacement out. A week and a half later I called back and they said they'll send me an update. I got the update that same night that they'll be ordering it in and sending it out. It's as if they didn't do anything or completely forgot about it for the past week and a half. Still waiting for my part to come in. I would look elsewhere if ordering online."
"Received our mower. Poured in gasoline and it ran out from the air cleaner. Called mower direct the same day it was delivered and they said it was now my responsibility to spend the time and money to get it fixed. It has never even been operated once. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Stay away form MowersDirect at all costs. Horrible company."
"DO NOT TRUST MOWERS DIRECT PRICES OR THEIR PROMOTIONS! I ordered a rather expensive Husquavarna lawn tractor ($2500) through them, thinking I was getting a good buy and great service. In the long run, I could have purchased the tractor locally at the same price and it would have been set up for me and ready to run. Here I am two days later, still struggling to uncrate it, and I was told all I had to do was connect the battery and drive it off the pallet, far from the truth. The bolts for the brush guard didn't even fit the holes, there are no instructions for installing the battery and the mower cannot be driven off the pallet since there is a purge process before it can be driven. I am almost 70 years old and cannot move this 580 pound mower to level ground. I REGRET NOT HAVING READ THE COMPANY REVIEWS ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, PRIOR TO ORDERING.
I was told they were offering an interest free payment plan through Synchrony Financial and I should apply and call back. I did so and was immediately approved. I received the tractor and the credit card on the same date. When I activated the card, I found I was being billed $200 more than the invoice showed. After several phone calls and a few emails, I was told those were promotional fees from Synchrony. How is this interest free for 42 months? This was certainly not something the salesman mentioned but Synchrony told me Mowers Direct was well aware of the fees. I have two other accounts through Synchrony and no fees were ever tacked on. Perhaps I should have been more careful reading the user agreement, but with two other accounts and no problems, why would I? I believe this was deliberate on the part of Mowers Direct and personally feel it is a form of consumer fraud. Had I been told about these fees, I would have either paid cash or shopped local. Neither Mowers Direct or Synchrony Financial are willing to do anything about this. I will be contacting the Attorney General in my state, the BBB and any consumer fraud agencies I can locate.

"After I received the lawn mower, I filled it with gas and try to test it. Immediately the gas leaked out. The gas tank was empty in about 2 minutes. All gas I added into the gas tank was on the floor of my garage. I call the customer service of mowersdirect to ask for returning the defective product. They said they wont accept the return because" Engine powered equipment cannot be returned once it has been gassed or oiled due to federal shipping regulations". But that is not true. I contact UPS got confirmed that they will ship a used gas lawn mower as long as the mower was cleaned and packed properly. So tell me what you will do if a seller sold you a defective product and let you deal with the problem yourself?"
"I did quite a bit of research before buying my next lawn tractor. When I finally decided I wanted a 2014 Husqvarna YT46LS Mowers Direct had the best price. I asked a lot of questions and Mowersdirect went above and beyond to get them all answered. To get one of the answers they had to pull a crated mower from the warehouse for a physical inspection. Then sent me pictures of the results. Mower was shipped within hours of order placement. It arrived 5 days later by truck freight in a bullet proof wooden crate. I paid extra for the lift gate delivery. The mower was placed in our driveway just in front of the garage. Could not ask for more. It took about 30 minutes to get it out of the crate. Final assembly was very easy. no missing parts or documentation. Mower runs and cuts perfectly just as promised. "
