"Ok, so Ups screwed up and didn't have the tracking info. The fact that I might have had to wait 8 business days for another re-ship is a bad policy. MF sent out the thing but UPS had no info. Just a stroke of bad luck on Mf's part I guess. Their customer service leaves alot to be desired and having good prices on products is not enough. Any company can be great when everything goes well but it is when things go wrong that you find out how good they really are. In this case, MF failed miserably."

"I have been ordering things for the small band i do sound for for several years. I have never recieved a bad product from them, so I have never had to do a return. Quality/value was good for the price. Most recently I ordered some mid-grade headphones from them. They came well packed and were shipped promptly. I have called their customer service several times with product questions and always got guick courteous answers. Once I called about a manufacturer discontinued item, they were sold out and the customer rep apologized. About ten minutes later I tried to go to the listing to look at the specs and it was already removed, which shows that they care about the accuracy of their website, which I appreciate. Our guitar player bought a $500 guitar from them with similar experience. Musician's Friend is my go-to music supplier."

"i rec'd a few no charge microphone extension cable from their customer service to make up for being overcharged and not getting the correct deferred credit card billing. they initially worked for about 80 days then both had a problem. i called customer service asking where i need to send them for warranty repair and was told they DO NOT offer a warranty on this item and many other items they sell. customer service was rude and abusive and put me on extended hold when i requested a supervisor. would not transfer me to the rep who sent them initially to me and after
an hour. i had to hang up and call back and ask for the rep i dealt with in march who sent two more replacement cords to me which also do not work properly. they sell a lot of junk and their customer service department is real bad.

"Absolutely HORRIBLE Customer Service.

I will never order from them again.

They have given me the run-around for over a week on something that THEY made a mistake on.

I ordered a Digidesign Mbox on August 4th. I recieved it August 8th. It did NOT come with the new 6.1 software, available since June. I can't use the product AT ALL, because my computer isn't supported under the old software. The new software adds support for my machine.

I called Digidesign, first. Digi says that they will ship a copy of the new software, when I turn in my warranty card, but it may take 4-6 WEEKS! They also said that they shipped instructions to ALL OF THEIR AUTHORIZED RESELLERS in JUNE. These instructions told ALL of their resellers that they are REQUIRED to include the 6.1 software with ANY Digidesign Pro Tools product, effective July. Digidesign furnished every single reseller with copies of the software to distribute, whenever they sell a Digi Pro Tools system to ANYONE, EFFECTIVE JULY!

They didn't send it to me. If I have to wait for Digi, I will be waiting 4-6 WEEKS! I called Musician's Friend Saturday, August 9th. I was told that someone would take care of it, Monday. I called back Monday, August 11th. Nothing had been done, and I had to explain the entire situation, again. They said to call back that afternoon. I called back that afternoon. Still, nothing had been done, I had to explain the whole situation, AGAIN, but they promised that it would be taken care of, immediately.

I got a voicemail Wedensday, August 13th, telling me to call Customer Service. They don't say what about. They just say to call. I call and talk to them, now a fourth time. I have to re-explain the whole situation, now a fourth time. The service person says that the software will be shipped, immediately. I ask if they can send it overnight or next day. He says YES.

Saturday, August 16th, and I still haven't recieved anything. I call them, now a FIFTH time. I get someone and I have to explain the situation AGAIN, because she can't understand what they have on file, for me. She then tells me that they haven't shipped the software and they aren't going to ship it, because someone at in their purchasing department called Digidesign Customer Service on Friday (two days after I was told it would be mailed immediately) and someone in customer service at Digi told them that they (Digi) will send the new software to anyone who turns in a product registration/warranty card.

Well, NO DUH!!! That's what I have been telling them. That's the problem. I don't want to wait a month and a half to get something that Musician't Friend was CLEARLY INSTRUCTED TO DO by Digidesign, two months before I placed my order.

I should have checked here, at resellerratings.com before placing an order with Musician's Enemy. It will be the last time I order from them and I will encourage ALL USERS OF THE DIGIDESIGN FORUMS TO NOT BUY FROM MUSICIAN'S FRIEND, EITHER!!!

I have been SCREWED OVER by these people.

"On the MF web site they listed a program "Video Factory" at a good price but did not list the version. I sent the email to ask about the version. They responded saying they had version 2.0 which was acceptable to me, I ordered it. The order was shipped promptly but when I received the order it was version 1.0. I again sent email with a copy of the order and was told the were sorry and I could go the Sonic Foundry web site and download the proper version. What they forgot to say was the upgrade would cost me as much as I paid for the software. I again sent email requesting that they refund my money or send me the proper version for the agreed price. I have not heard back yet. After a number of Emails the basically said I stuck with old version of software. Be very carefully when dealing with this company they will lie to you so you order and then become very difficult They have refused to refund my money (I open the package to verify the version), the refused to send me the proper version, and the refused to pay for the upgrade. If they would have told me what version they had I never would have ordered but that where the lies began. I will be contacting my credit card company to see if they can help. I know it's only $36 but it's the principle. Don't order from this company."

"I have purchased guitar gear eg. Dunlop Uni-Vibe pedal, various compressor effects pedals,etc., from Musicians Friend. After buying and setting up my Dunlop pedal, I noticed that it didn't work after I hooked up the power cord from my pedal board (bought at Guitar Center). I called MF for an RMA and they promptly sent one. I packed the Uni-Vibe back into the original packing and sent it in. MF responded back within a few days indicating that it worked fine. Their tech guy even called me on the phone. Anyway, I received the Uni-Vibe back and hooked it up again. It didn't work. I dug out the instruction booklet and noticed that in order for it to work, it had to be plugged into the Dunlop power source. Once I did this, it has worked like a champ and has served me very well in all my gigs. I was embarrased to say the least, and have the utmost respect for this company. They are a class act, and very patient. I will continue to order from this company. Very satisfied.

"I've made 3 orders from MF over the past 5 years and all three have been badly handled and was mislead on all 3.... don't expect a straight deal from MF, sorry to be vague but it makes me ill to write about it, try zzound for a straight up deal, MF is a bunch of crooks IMO...."

"Over the years I've purchased quite a few items from Musicians Friend. In
fact, almost all of my musical equipment has been ordered through them. I
would have to say that they've screwed up just about every other order. I
ordered a P.A. through them that cost almost $2000.00 and it took them 2
months to send me the correct brackets and stands for the monitors. I
ordered a guitar pedal from them and asked to have it overnighted they sent it
ground and it was like pulling teeth to get a credit for the shipping
charges. Most recently though I ordered a 4X12 Crate BV412SVB guitar
cabinet. It arrived damaged, severely. There was a hole in the metal grate
on the front and the cabinet was badly scuffed in one large area. I called
to do an exchange. they said the piece I ordered was sold out and no longer
available. they tried to offer me inferior cabinets (Crate BV412RB & GX412S)
in exchange. I had to demand a cabinet of equal quality (I switched to a
Marshall 1960A - SORRY CRATE). Then they told me that they wouldn't ship it
out until they had the damaged one back. That's unacceptable. With the
tracking ability that's availble these days they could easily see when the
unit was in transit back to them and then reship my replacement...but I had
to talk to three different people before I found one intelligent enough to
agree with me. One more thing, I think the piece they sent me had been
shipped before. It had a 3-day select label on it from UPS but came to me
via Fed Ex. Either they shipped it once or someone in their shipping
department can't tell the difference between the two.
