"I was all set to order holiday cards as I have for the past couple of years, but NWF wants to charge $25 for shipping 4 boxes of cards! Customer service says there's nothing they can do about it because they calculate the shipping charge based on the value of the order (and their cards are pretty expensive.) That's not how the shipping company determines the cost to them, so why - with today's technology - should they charge their customers in this manner? I won't be ordering anything more from NWF."
"I ordered a dragonfly pin that came free when you purchaase a tree to be planted, but i never recieved the pin. I called and the lady i spoke with said she would send me another one, that never arrived eighter. I dont know if it is poor communication or what but i sure would have liked the pin!"

"I have had nothing but excellent products and service from National Wildlife Federation over several years. My most recent order was for a Sea Turtle T-shirt for my brother. It came really quickly and it was BEAUTIFUL! He loves it. Another recent purchase was an elegant pullover "sweatshirt" with mock collar. It is black with a tasteful poinsettia (Christmas) design on the front, and several times strangers have asked me where I purchased it. Their merchandise is very high quality and prices relatively low. "

The issue is that you do not keep the purchaser up to date as to when the children will be getting their first issue nor the plush toys. The plush toys arrived, but at a different times and the recipient was in the position of not knowing what is going on nor does the purchaser know what is happening either.
SUGGESTION: You need some kind of gift card notification system like other websites have. Gift subscription notices are sent in advance to the recipients.

"Except for a representative named Joan who was exceptional absolutely the worst customer service imaginable. Ordered a subscription on line in October 2010. Credit card billed immediately. Subscription was not filled. Repeated and totally frustrating calls proved that NWF internal systems are in total disarray and one department cannot communicate with another. Problem finally resolved in March 2011. Can't begin to describe the time and frustration involved. Except for Joan,customer service hides behind the cloak of anonimity so no one ever takes responsibility for solving a problem and instead say that it is a problem beyond their control. Hard to believe they manage to stay in business with such "broken" systems."
