"This company lies to you, do not shop here. I was naive about camera equipment at the time, and they defiantly took advantage of me. I ordered a Canon branded wide angle lens for my Canon HV40, Mark Stephens called me and told me it was on back order. I was about to cancel my order when he suggested a different wide angle lens that was supposedly extremely better and had beat the Canon lens in a "shoot-out" article in some magazine. It was $199, only $50 more than the Canon one. It sounded great to me so I accepted the new item to replace the original order I had wanted. He sounded really enthusiastic and told me he put me on their special customer list or something. Anyways, when I received the package, it turns out it was a cheap-o lens you could buy in Chinatown for $20. It was a Crystal Vision Limited Edition High Definition 0.5x Pro Wide Lens. I searched for the article he told me about over the phone and I could not find it. The lens had horrible chromatic aberrations. New World Video Direct had completely cheated me for my money. $200 for a $20 lens adapter. Mark Stephens is a liar, con, and bait-and-switcher. Avoid this company and their services at all costs."

"I recently purchased a UV filter kit for my Panasonic Lumix FZ18 camera.
I am very pleased with the UV filter kit (with mounting ring) that I bought from NWV Direct. Everything fits and the quality of the filter is excellent. The mounting kit is a split ring, so you only use half of it when you are shooting wide angle shots. This avoids seeing the "sides of the tunnel" when both mounting rings are mounted together. (Caution, you do need to remember not to zoom the lens with the UV filter mounted this way, as the lens will push into the UV filter.) When shooting in telephoto mode, you attach both rings together and zoom in and out all you want.
The filter brand listed on the web site was a brand I never heard of. I actually got a Vivitar filter, which is a very good aftermarket brand. The rings are made by Bower specifically for Panasonic.
The filter came in its own plastic snap case with a little round pad to help keep the filter from rattling around in the case. I put a little loop of Scotch Tape on the pad to keep it from falling out of the case when I take out the filter.
The filter and mounting ring kit was a reasonable 35 and a half bucks after shipping."

Scattered throughout the questionable 5 star reviews for NVW Direct are scathing one star reviews detailing a shady business tactic called a "bait and switch" which I won't accuse them of since they've asked me not to. Instead, I will provide the facts about my transaction with NWV Direct.
I ordered a Hoya polarizing lens filter from them, only to be contacted later that the item was out of stock until further notice. The sales rep offered me a "deal" on the Vivitar "Elite HD" CPL, at a discount of $10 to match the $50 price of the out of stock filter I ordered. He said that there were rave reviews about this filter, but I should've been more skeptical. I told him to go ahead and process the order, but then sent a follow up email asking him to send me the product page since I couldn't find it on the website. Doing some research, I found pretty horrible reviews for this filter, and found it for $16 elsewhere. By the time I called to request a cancel of my order the next day, it had already been shipped out, since you can't cancel orders after 30 minutes, I had to pay return shipping and eat a 15% restocking fee as well.
I do admit fault for not doing my homework on this company, I just saw the overall ratings and thought they were a reputable business. Don't buy from them, there have been numerous accounts that they are not a well intentioned company."

My story is not a new one. I ordered a Hoya HD polarizing filter, received an email stating my order needed attention, and was told the HD filter was $20 more but as a favor they would only charge $10 more.
I received was a Bower filter and was never told I would not receive Hoya. Adding insult to injury their web listed the filter at $18 less that what they charged me. Yeah, they refunded the $18 but sure as h*ll didn't give me any deal.
By phone I asked if filters were returnable and was told yes just fill out the on line RMA. They would not issue an RMA for the filter because somewhere on their website it says they can't be returned. Good luck finding the small print. The "21 day satisfaction guarantee" refers only to their satisfaction in scamming another customer. It seems to offer the purchaser no benefits.
I will never do business with this firm again. Next on my list are letters to the the better business bureau and the NY Attorney General though I would be shocked if if they don't know each other already.

Update: The only response they have seen fit to provide when I asked about returns was the answer no RMA, the $18 credit, and a request to change this review. They have not responded to ANY other points I raised.

Update: I challenged the charge with my credit card company and received a full refund. I contacted NWV and they didn't even bother to respond with a return postage envelope to get their "$200" filter back. In reality I think they just couldn't be bothered to pay return shipping on $20 filter they try to sell for $200."

"WOW! I had called and ordered a lens cap replacement directly from Pansonic-twice. Panasonics parts and technical support were no help. Both times I received the wrong part. My third attempt was with NWV Direct. I ordered what I thought would be the right part for my camera-again it didn't fit. I called their toll-free number. The gentleman asked me to get the camera, read off the numbers on the FRONT lens area, explained that I needed a 46mm cap-not a 52mm. No one at Panasonic had asked me that very important question. He immediately placed the order and emailed me the confirmation.
