Every touch point was a bad experience

"I ordered the parts for a client project and got an expected delivery date with the email confirmation. Based on that date I gave the client a projected date of completion. The delivery date passed so I checked the order with provided link. The linked page errors out with "Don't recognize the email address" (which was the correct email and autofilled by their confirmation.) I emailed customer service directly. The next full day later I received a cryptic message effectively saying, "we can't give you a delivery date because our supplier hasn't delivered it to us yet but expect a date when the parts arrive to them." I tried to find a phone number for customer service, but there is only one for sales (naturally). More waiting, more email requests, more weird messages. I got a notice that my client was going to pull the project if we didn't have the parts, so I got on Newark's chat. I was caller 7, so I hunkered down for a wait. After 2 hours of waiting I got down to caller 3 and the chat window went blank and asked me for a review of the chat service. I called the sales phone number and asked to talk with customer service, and was transferred twice and was told that they found my order was delayed in customs with no firm date expected. I later emailed again and was notified that they would send a notice with tracking when the parts arrived to their US warehouse. Because it was so late, my client cancelled the project and I emailed to cancel the order No confirmation of my cancellation. I emailed again 2 days later with a cancellation but was told that now, because the parts had arrived and been shipped to me, I couldn't cancel the order. I got the parts 5 days later. Awful systems, processes and service."

"Would never order from this company again. Had to deal with some arrogant woman named Cynthia. Avoid this company at all costs, they just waste your time.

Pride before the fall. Looks like this company is on the way down.

Worst customer service ever. If you could call it service...

"Funny to see so many negative ratings here, I totally agree. Newark is the worst company ever to deal with, they do what they like, and communication with costumer service is not working at all. Try my best to never deal with them again. "

Maybe it is Covid

"Made a minor mistake on my online order. IMMEDIATELY contacted support. Offshore support TRIED to connect me to US support, but it never happened. A different offshore rep answered. He was arrogant and told me it was "ALREADY shipped".

That was a week ago. It still has not shipped. I had ordered it using my corporate terms. It has been on hold. It is still on hold. Another call to offshore support another set of unfulfilled promises.

I placed the order again paying with a corporate card. that was 2 days ago. The website promises same day shipping.

Maybe it is covid????????

Curated product reviews, indeterminate shipping times.

"I ordered an item about 1 month ago.

Since then I've been watching my order and the product page and I've noticed a few things. First of all, shipping estimates? Total lies. Mine's been pushed back every few days for the past month with zero indication that anything's going to change. Second of all, all reviews or customer questions that put their handling of the product in poor light are allowed to remain, they censor all negative feedback on their site.

I paid over $20 for 2 day shipping. My order's been delayed over 20 days with zero communication other than "Well, things happen."

Buy elsewhere if you can. Wait until someone else offers otherwise.

free shipping bait

"Saw a new item that was on sale and had free shipping, I compared the price with amazon prime and it was still a little cheaper on Newark, when I checked my emailed receipt it did not have a shipping fee, instead it had the merchandise price ($25) and the total charged ($37). I inquired about it, response back was that free shipping only applied for orders over $50. So inquired about returning it and got no response. Easy way to lose a customer, I'm sticking with Amazon Prime."

DO NOT ORDER AT element14 singapore in case you still want on-time delivery of components

"element14 singapore still does not deliver my order at all, since more than 4 weeks, although the components were all confirmed for maximum 5 working days since July 25, 2018. Those components were and are urgently needed for my project.

Since August 9, 2018, there are in total 9 e-mails from me questioning the status of the order and when will the components be shipped. Since August 23, only 2 e-mails from the manager which just promised that the involved staff will contact me. No contact at all from the promised staff. And the manager also gave no information what has been happening.

Update: still nothing happens until now :((

Will never shop here again

"Placed an order, was double charged. Called support and second charge was refunded. Next day, charged again. Called support and third charge was refunded. Next day...yep, was charged AGAIN and I already have the order! This time called the bank to dispute and make sure it was Newark doing the charges. Will never shop here again. Worst of all for them this was a test purchase for our STEM Academy. Sure glad I decided to test the waters before placing bulk orders. Will be filing a formal complaint with the proper trade authorities."

They are living in 90's. Outright lying about delivery dates.

"I wish I had found this site before I ordered. Ordered parts, site stated "shipping from UK, allow 5-7 days for shipping". The website showed the order, but no updates. After waiting two weeks, with no email updates. After waiting two weeks, with no communication, I called customer service. I was told the parts had shipped from the UK, be patient. They could not provide me with any tracking information. Waited another five days, called again. This time given a different story. The rep did not know if they had shipped from UK or not and could not get and information because "they are in a different time zone". This rep also told me that the parts were going to come to them in NJ first and then they reship them to me. Further stated that this "reshipment", would not generate a tracking number.
Total BS. Every shipping company generates tracking. They (Newark element 14) just don't want to do the work, they would rather lie and BS about their operation.

1 star because 0 isn't an option.

"Their site says "unparalleled customer service" that's because nobody else would dare stoop so low.

I made an order and had the money pending in my bank account. Got an email confirming order and saying it would ship soon. After a few days nothing changed. After a few more days the pending payment disappeared. Going through their order number information page it claimed there was no order with my credentials. I remade the order. Same thing happened.

After a couple days I ordered from another company. Then a day or two later BOTH payments came back as pending.

Contacted support. They directed me to email one of their departments.
I asked for an explanation. Got no reply.
I told them to cancel both orders. Got no reply.
A couple days later 1 order disappeared from my pending payments on my bank account.

Contacted support again. They had cancelled 1 but not both and still never replied to y inquiries or cancellation request.
Support cancelled the second order.

Still don't know why newark refused my money, but their competitors are happy to have it.

Worst First Impression Ever

"I should have came here first like everyone else. This is a cruddy circus of a company. I feel really bad for what the customer service must go through. They probably don't have anything to do with the orders. I bought $2 worth of items and now I have a hidden shipping rate of $20. I was just hoping to get all the parts together but I realize that was a mistake. I literally could have driven from South Texas to Austin in the time and cost it took for this company to get my order through and it would have still been cheaper. For the first time ever it would have been cheaper to go and pay the extra money to your "local" store if you have one. Plus my first half of the order which was an additional $8 with shipping came in this cheap cruddy bag. Couldn't even upgrade for a box. I hope this company gets it's act together or fails and lets someone better take over. "
