"Patrick was 100% helpful. He helped out when I needed a fan and didn't hold anything back to help me. Newegg is the best for pc parts and I highly recommend them to anyone!"
"[Edit] Newegg.ca addressed the situation professionally and I eventually received the TV.
Charged my credit card for 42" LG LED TV that they didn't have in stock. Was informed 5 days after they charged my credit card that the item was 'backordered'. I missed other boxing day deals for TVs because I had been lead to believe I was going to receive shipment from Newegg.ca.
I then checked my online order status and the order was removed even though email said it was backordered. Contacted customer support and told me order was cancelled. Why did they hold my money for 5 days leading me to believe the item was in stock and then cancel without sending an email notice of cancellation. They tried to make ammends by offering a flimsy $25 Gift Card with 90 expiration."
"[EDIT: Newegg addressed my complaint, and many others involved in the LG television initial purchase, and provided me with three reasonable options for the initial cancellation. I received my television in working order and I am now satisfied with the end result. My only reserve for full satisfaction is that this incident occurred in the first place and I wonder what would have happened if the cancellation affected a few instead of many. Regardless, I am personally satisfied. [/EDIT]
Purchased an in-stock LG 42" LED 1080P 120hz Cinema3D HDTV / 2 sets of Dual Play Gaming Glasses television from Newegg on December 21, 2012 at 10:20 PM. I received a series of emails shortly thereafter indicating my credit card was charged and that the product would be shipped out within 24-48 hours.
I received an email on December 27th, 2012 indicating the television was on backorder and my account was being refunded. The NewEgg 'backordered' notice also states: "please allow 1 to 2 business days for a refund of the backorder value", which sounds more like a CANCELLATION rather than a backorder. Logging into my NewEgg account, I was saw that the details of the order had been removed. This seems strange.
I spoke with support and was offered $25 for my disappointment and inconvenience. I refused as this is not an adequate solution considering I presented this as a gift to my family on Christmas morning and ignored all television deals on Boxing day.
"
"i ordered a lg 42" tv, told my kids that they would be getting a new tv after Christmas.. yesterday i got my order canceled.. i am very upset.. also i passed up on other boxing day tv sales as i had already purchased here, they really bent me on this deal.."
"I purchased a 42" LG LED 3D televsision that was advertised at a great price on Dec-22, a few days before the Xmas holidays. The order was placed successfully late night followed by a "SO Confirmation" email a short while later and then a "Payment charged" email the following morning. All this while the order status on my account page at Newegg changed from verification finally to "Packaging" (with a note saying order verification was complete and items were being collected in the warehouse for shipment). How excited were we that a new TV was on its way to us for the holidays! But things quickly went HORRIBLY WRONG...
The order status stayed in Packaging state until Dec-27, when I received a new email claiming items were "backordered" and that backordered amounts were being refunded! Note- this is AFTER Boxing Day on Dec-26 when other retailers were also offering deep discounts on televisions that I didn't bother investigating since I assumed Newegg was soon shipping the LG 42" television. To add insult to injury, my credit card had already been CHARGED! So, Newegg.ca took funds out of my credit card, held on to it for 5 days, reported that it was about to ship the product and then cancelled the order altogether until after Boxing Day all but ensuring I couldn't get a discounted holiday or boxing day special price from elsewhere even if I tried.
I logged into my Newegg.ca account page and discovered that ALL TRACES of the placed order had been removed from their website completely. I contacted their "customer service" line, and was greeted by a rude and uncaring representative. Not only did she deny that my order was ever in packaging stage, she blamed the credit card company for posting the charge and explained they only put a temporary hold, not a full charge...except why was a refund then necessary? I asked how they were going to make it right and received only canned replies: "we have no further information...", "it is not our policy...", etc.
Newegg.ca is the GRINCH that stole Christmas for me and many other holiday shoppers in 2012. They collected funds they had no right to receive, held on to it for far too long, and didn't inform anxious buyers until other deals from other retailers had also expired. I will NEVER shop at Newegg.ca again, regardless of the "deep discounts" and "shell shockers" this company falsely advertises. It's one thing to make a pricing or inventory mistake, but being insincere in your apology and unbelievably uncaring with your customers with NO ATTEMPT at compensation or "making it right" is inexcusable for any person or company. I've dealt with many other retailers and I'd take any of them over Newegg.ca, an incredibly incompetent company. Newegg.ca has lost the privelege of earning my business and that of my family, friends and business associates that I will continue to remind of this story every opportunity I get. This is not a matter of saving a few hundred dollars on a television, but a matter of principle.
I am DISGUSTED just thinking about the past week's ordeal as writing this review has helped me re-live it again. I can only hope other hopeful shoppers have adequate warning prior to engaging in business with this company. I was an (almost) first time customer, but they have lost not only my business forever but of those as well that I am able to influence in my own circle."
"STAY AWAY!!! Fraudulent service- charges credit card for items they are not going to ship to you!!!
I am one of the hundreds of customers who bought the TV from newegg.com as a Christmas gift for my parents. Once my credit card was charged, and the company notified me that my TV was "being prepared for shipment", I went ahead and gave my parents a Christmas card which told them the surprise that they would be receiving a TV as a Christmas present. Newegg turned that Christmas gift into a bitter experience when I had to call my parents yesterday to tell them that the company had cancelled the order for the TV almost a week after they charged my credit card!!! I missed out on the opportunity to buy a boxing day TV as a replacement. Boo newegg! They need to offer us a suitable replacement for this purchase (not just mass emails that offer a $25 coupon off your next purchase...). They can't just charge us for merchandise that they have no intention of selling/shipping to us. "
"Ordered the LG 42" 3D LCD TV, newegg accepted my payment, charged my credit card, and then update order status to "packaging".
Simple enough, oh, except in this "packaging" stage, no changes can be made to the order, and no more updates from newegg since...
Up until a week later (after boxing day stuff, mind you,) received an...ah, email! It's gotta be shipped, right?
Nope, it's "backordered," eh, not really, it's more like "cancelled."
What dirty back alley business practice is this?
You get no love from me, I'd give you negative stars if I could.
"badegg" indeed."
"Used to be a loyal Newegg Customer but their policies have changed without written notice. They seem to believe it is good business practice to charge their customers credit cards without notifying their customers that they had no intention of selling the item to them in the first place. It's been a week and they haven't issued me a refund yet. Buyer beware, very shady business practices lately.
EDIT: NEWEGG has given a satisfactory solution.
Thank you Newegg. "
"Purchased a LG TV from Newegg Canada's website on Dec 21st. Model # 42LM5800. Payment was charged to my mastercard almost immediately. The company took 5 days to tell me that the product was backordered and instead of filling my order when the inventory arrives they simply went ahead and cancelled the order. There is a charge on my credit card, I missed buying other TV's over the boxing day period and purchased a blu ray player and couple of 3D blu ray's in anticipation of the TV and the company merely cancels the order without any proper explanation.
Never have I seen such kind of business practises. Shame on you Newegg. This is not the way to do business. Extremely disappointed. "
"On 22 December, I placed an order with Newegg.ca: LG 42" LED 1080P with 2 sets dual-play glasses. The Order went through smoothly and Newegg charged my credit card (not authorized), I spoke with a customer service representative and they confirmed that the TV will be shipped in the next business day. My order status was even updated with:
"Packaging - Your payment has been successfully processed and has passed Order Verification. Products are being collected in the warehouse and boxed for shipment or pick up. Please note that you may no longer make changes to your order"
I ignored all the boxing day TV deals because I think I've bought my TV with Newegg. I bought many 3D blurays movies and b compatible bluray player. On 27 December (that's almost ONE WEEK later), Newegg suddenly send me a backordered email, cancelled my order and wipe the entire order from my account records. Thinking that it is a mistake since I spoke to a customer service and they said my order is reserved, I contact them again and they did not explain anything plus and offer me a 15$ giftcard expiring in 30 days.
Way to go Newegg. I refused the 15$ since the damages they did to me was great: I sold my old TV, I ignore all the boxing TV deals, I bought many accessories for the new TV with newegg that never come. I will never shop at Newegg again, no matter how good their price is because that was just a lie."
"I purchased a tv on Saturday December 22 model number 42lw5800 at the sale price of 600$ -200$ off total 400$ which was charged to my credit card . I received 2 confirmation emails telling me your order has been verified, processed and approved and waiting to be shipped. I called on Monday December 24 and spoke with a customer service agent to confirm all is correct with my order and she said i was guaranteed it has been verified and is ready to ship. My wife was very happy and bought me over 500$ of 3d blu rays and cables based on the fact I was getting the tv next week or the following week. I received and email yesterday December 27 that my order is backordered and will be cancelled . I checked online and my order has been deleted from my profile by newegg. I called newegg and spoke with a supervisor who did not want to help me or understand that I was promised and charged on my credit card in full and my wife has invested over 500$ in gifts for me and we don't have a tv to watch. I asked if I can buy another comparable tv like a 47 inch 3d led lg tv with a similar additional discount that I got on the other tv. They declined and offered me a 25$ gift card and to refund me in 1-2 business days instead, which i didn't want, i wanted the tv or another tv. I am very hurt and disappointed with the service I have received as I am willing to buy a more expensive tv at a reasonable price. I wanted to let you all know of my experience and please be aware being charged on your credit card and receiving a confirmation email does not mean newegg will come through on there end. I also asked if someone higher up in the company can help me or hear my concerns or my offer , I was told there is no one else. I have purchased from newegg since 2010 and if I don't hear from someone higher in the company I won't do business with them again.

"Worst Company Ever!
On Saturaday December 22, 2012, I ordered a LG 42" LED 1080P 3D HDTV on Newegg's website. I was happy that I got a good deal, and won't need to wait in any lines on Boxing Day. Ohh boy was I wrong, the day after Boxing Day, yes you read that right, the day after boxing day, I received an email from Newegg stating my order has been backlogged and will be cancelled. This was 6 days after I ordered the television, ohh man was I fuming. Newegg had no right to charge my credit card, they have issued a refund that will take another 3-5 business days to receive, what a joke. What I am most disappointed is that I wasn't the only one, but also that this was a gift to my family for our basement, my parents have helped me a lot though me education, and I just wanted to get them a great gift. This catastrophe also prevented me from purchasing any other great television deals that were out there on boxing day. I have been shopping online for around 10 years now, this is the first time I had a bad experience, and the first time I have ever written a bad review for an online retailer.
My only advice for others is to be careful when purchasing from Newegg, they take your money before they even ship the product, and they will leave you out in the dark, by cancelling your order out of the blue, they even deleted the order from account, the only proof I have of this transaction is through he emails I received when I purchased the television and from the backorder/cancelled email."
""THE MOST DECEITFUL DISHONEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!
They took orders for 42" LG TVs, confirmed these orders, TOOK PAYMENT FOR THESE ORDERS, Waited SIX days and then "backordered" these items and began to process refunds.
And, get this, backordered does not mean you get it eventually, they are never getting more stock! They are offering a 25 dollar credit as hush money, but only if you make a big enough nuisance!
In short, the most shady and dishonest company I have dealt with in 10 years of online shopping. Avoid this company like the plague, there are many other better options.

"I ordered a LG 42" LED 1080P 120hz Cinema3D HDTV / 2 sets of Dual Play Gaming Glasses from Newegg.ca on Dec 22,2012. I received confirmation that my credit card was charged and status that items were in packaging. On Dec 27, 2012 I received an email that my order was backordered. But instead of waiting for more stock to come in, they erased my order history and cancelled my order with no option of getting it at the sale price. I'm very disappointed in how Newegg handled this and having missed out on all Boxing Day deals for a new TV."
"I was one of the customers, though I feel like a victim that bought a LG 42inch 42LM5800 LED tv for $480.25 all in. It was a deal I found. I remember seeing the deal and immediately jumping on it because it was the best deal I even saw in my life... I never used Newegg before but I took the risk and became a member of the site and got the TV. It’s funny because the same night I got the tv I was going to buy a blueray player and some other items, I was charged the same night for the TV BTW...Then about a few days later an e-mail came saying my tv was backordered... I called newegg to find out what backordered means, I was told I would get my money back with no tv... I won't ever use this site again for a big ticket item and would and will share my experience because it sucks. Lucky for me though I can still get my tv from another provider. "
"I'm one of the first people whose ordered the LG TV 42LM5800/AG-F310DP on Dec 21th, 2012 when the $400 deal started. The TV original cost $1199.99, on sale price $600 - extra $200 coupon -= $400, almost 67% off. Newegg charged my credit card right away and changed the status to Packaging about to ship. However, Newegg waited until Dec 27th, 2012, decided not honor the deal and sent email saying backorder and removed the item from the order history. From redflagdeals.ca forum, look like no one getting this TV deal. I think it is impossible that it is out of stock when I ordered it. They've just used the backorder excuse to cancel everyone order instead of fulfill the order at low price. If they said there is no stock for this TV then how about offer the similar deal to compensate for other TV in stock, more expensive no one buy like 55LM8600, 55LM9600, etc. at 60% off the original price, but they won't. It is disappointed. "
