"Patrick was 100% helpful. He helped out when I needed a fan and didn't hold anything back to help me. Newegg is the best for pc parts and I highly recommend them to anyone!"
"UNETHICAL COMPANY - AVOID THEM.
On December 22nd, NewEgg advertised a special on a 42" LG TV, took my order, confirmed my order, charged my credit card, and marked my order as "Packaging". I then waited until December 28th to find out that they had no intention of fulfilling my order - after I received an email saying my order was now "Backordered".
This was embarrassing because on the basis of the chain of events above, I gave the TV as a gift, only to find out that I could not count on NewEgg to deliver.
And then to cap it all off, they have engaged in some incredibly DECEITFUL behaviour - including deleting the order completely from my order history, as if wiping it away will make me forget it happened! This despite the fact that I still haven't received a refund to my Amex!
Oh - and now they are blocking comments on their FaceBook page about this debacle. This company is extremely unethical in the business practices - and you shouldn't reward them with your business. I won't be from now on."
"I purchased an LG tv Dec.22nd and my credit card was charged. Order went into "packaging" status until Dec.27th when it was then abruptly put into "backorder" and more abruptly cancelled altoegether by Noegg.ca. Merry Christmas to me from Noegg.ca an offer of a $25 gift card as "hush" money is a slap in the face."
"DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM NEWEGG EVER. I purchased a LG 42" LED 1080P 120hz Cinema3D HDTV / 2 sets of Dual Play Gaming Glasses from Newegg on December 21, 2012 for a total $480.25 including handling and fees. I received an email shortly after confirming my credit card has been charged. The next day the order status had been updated to "Packaging" meaning my order was being boxed and awaiting shipment (also meaning no changes may be made to the order). Today I received an e-mail stating that they wouldn't be shipping the TV and would not honour the price when it was back in stock. After talking with their customer support I would not recommend anyone to buy anything ever from Newegg. It's definitely a buy at your own risk website with practices that most Chinese merchant websites with cringe at."
"I purchased a LG 42" LED 1080P 120hz Cinema3D HDTV / 2 sets of Dual Play Gaming Glasses on the Newegg.ca website on 21DEC12 for the advertised price of $400.00 + taxes, etc. I paid with my Mastercard. My order went from ordered - to confirmed - to payment processed - to shipping. I was ecstatic! Well, on 27DEC12, I get an email stating that the TV was "backordered". I checked my order online, only to discover NO TRACE of it anywhere! Backorder means that once an item comes back in stock, it will ship out at the price you purchased for - but to Newegg it means - we screwed up and we simply cancelled your order!!! They still have NOT refunded ny credit card the full amount they charged, AND to top it all off, I missed out on all the boxing day deals, etc due to the fact that they MISLED me into thinking it was coming! This is a crappy way to treat a customer, and I will never ever buy here again, and will certainly be going out of my way to tell everyone about their extremely poor business practices. I am now off to put in a claim on my credit card for fraudulently charging my card! DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THIS SCAMMER OUTFIT!!!"
"I purchased a LG 42" LED 1080P 120hz Cinema3D HDTV / 2 sets of Dual Play Gaming Glasses from Newegg on December 21, 2012 at 10:39:17 PM (pst). I received an email within 5 min confirming my credit card had been charged, and that my "order should be processed and ready for ship-out within 24-48 hours."
Logging back into my NewEgg account (within 15 min of purchase time) confirmed that the TV was ready to ship, as my order status had been updated from:
Status: Order Verification - Your order has been successfully submitted. Your credit/debit card has not yet been charged. Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to process.
TO:
Status: Packaging - Your payment has been successfully processed and has passed Order Verification. Products are being collected in the warehouse and boxed for shipment or pick up. Please note that you may no longer make changes to your order.

On December 27, 2012 at 10:28 am (pst), I received an email stating "...unfortunately, one or more item(s) in your recent order cannot be shipped and are now backordered." Keep in mind, this is 6-days AFTER I placed the order, which means I have missed the Dec 26th Boxing Day sales! Any chance to purchase an equivalent TV on sale has now passed.
Oddly, the NewEgg 'backordered' notice also states: "please allow 1 to 2 business days for a refund of the backorder value", which sounds more like a CANCELLATION rather than a backorder. Logging into my NewEgg account, I was very surprised to find all details of the order had been deleted/wiped. This only adds to my suspicion that the true reason for cancellation is being withheld.
They state on their webpage "Newegg.ca does not sell backordered merchandise. We will never purposely charge a customer for an item that we do not physically have in stock at the time of purchase." If this statement was true, how is it that they charged hundreds of customers if they physcially didn't have any stock?
Please note - I am part of a larger group of ~400+ (est.) that purchased this TV deal & later receive the 'backordered' notice.
Interestingly, the combined delays from sending out the 'backorder/cancellation' notice' (+6 days) and the refund processing delay (+2 business days) means the refund will only occur AFTER the New Year (in Jan 2013.
This kind of business practice seems and should be illegal.
In a day and age where competition is high, take your money elsewhere. Stories like these are reason enough to shop elsewhere."
"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
They took orders for 42" LG TVs, confirmed these orders, TOOK PAYMENT FOR THESE ORDERS, Waited SIX days and then "backordered" these items and began to process refunds.
Wait, you thought backordered meant you would get the product when it was in stock? ME TOO!
With all the options out there you can do much better than this company with ease. This company ruined Christmas for many children and adults this Christmas and should be avoided at all cost.

"One of the worst online retailers in Canada. Charges you for items they dont have in stock, ships you the wrong item and then doesnt accept return.
Do not judge Newegg Canada based on their reputation in the US. Highly avoid."
"Ordered a 42"LG TV which was sent to packaging and credit card got charged, then backordered then cancelled when spoken to CSR and removed completely from order history. They offered me $25 reimbursement which is a joke. Still waiting for refund. Beware these guys lie and fraud. "
"Newegg has redeemed themselves. They offered everyone who purchased the tv these options:
A) The Original: LG 42” LCD 3D TV – Final Product Sale Price $400
You may complete the purchase of one of the original TVs we’ve been able to secure at the original discounted price.
B) Comparable: at a reduced Cost: LG 42” LCD TV – Sale Price $349.99
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889005303CVF&Tpk=89-005-303CVF
You may purchase a different model of an LG 42” LCD TV. This product does not have the 3D capability of the original product, but Newegg is offering it only to you at this deeply discounted price to offset the difference.
C) No TV: $100 Newegg Gift Card
In the event you do not prefer either option, as a gesture of apology and to express our sincerest gratitude for your understanding, Newegg would like to offer you a $100 Newegg Gift Card that may be used on any order in the future. There is no expiration date.
Original Post:
On December 21, I purchased a TV LG 42LM5800 on Newegg.ca. On December 27 (one day AFTER Boxing Day) I received an email saying that my order was cancelled due to it being backordered. Several issues with how they handled this situation:
- They already took my money and will be returning it after the new year
- They waited 1 day AFTER Boxing day so I couldn't buy a TV on sale
- Their customer service wouldn't give me anything in compensation"
"Thank you to NewEgg for their efforts in rectifying an unfortunate mistake this holiday season. Their willingness to make sure that their customers are taken care of will definitely make me consider them in the future."
"I had ordered the LG 42LM5800 3D TV on Dec 22 2012 for $458 all in. The online order went through and my credit card was charged that day. As boxing day came and went I believed I had purchased the TV from NewEgg successfully and did not take advantage of several other television deals in other stores.
But 5 days later on Dec 27, my entire order was suddenly set to backordered and erased from my account history. This not only felt like a bait and switch, but also made me miss out on various other boxing day deals this year. The fact NewEgg deleted my order from my order history simply made the whole thing seem even shadier and more unprofessional.
I have contacted NewEgg and they said there's nothing they can do about it. They offered me $25 in giftcards but I declined it as a matter of principle. Companies that try these shady business practices should be exposed and not swept under the rug.

"I placed an order with Newegg at 9:30PM on Christmas day. The order was processed and shipping information was provided by 10AM Boxing day morning. How awesome is that? Not only that, but after receiving the shipping information, I noticed the item had dropped in price and free shipping was applied (for Boxing day sale). I sent an email asking if I could somehow take advantage of the promotions, already knowing that they dont offer price protection, but they still offered to give me a credit on my order. Newegg is the best online store I have ever ordered from. Their service is phenomenal, prices are great, shipping is fast. Check any review of Newegg and you won't be disappointed. Place an order with Newegg and you wont be disappointed."
"I purchased a graphics card from Newegg in the beginning of December, this week I noticed that there were two free games bundled with the graphics card I just bought. I contacted them and even though I they didn't have to do anything, they sent me the coupon for the two free games. Newegg customer service had always been top notch for me."
"i ordered a ASUS GTX680-DC2T-2GD5, it was not the lowest price i saw online but it was in second place, 4day later i received it with purolator ground. i got some tracking issue since we can't track it until it have pass the customs (even if you order from newegg.ca they might not have the item in a canada warehouse so). there was a promotion from nvidia, buy a series 600 and get borderland 2 and assassin creed 3 free, but newegg was out of stock of those promotion card, all i had to do was to go in a live chat session and they added a note in my order, once it was done they told me to watch contact them as soon as i see them back in stock, they gave me both item number so i wasnt complicate. it took 1 day for borderland to get back in stock and 4 for assassin creed 3. they sended me both of the item totaly free of charge and as soon as i asked them.
P.s. : my english isnt realy good, sorry"
