"Dishonest, very poor service - NOT recommended.
When the computer developed problems almost immediately after I received it, it took them several months to return it to me with a new motherboard. Employees I talked to often gave me wrong information about the status of the repair, and some were rather rude. They also expected me to pay extra because they couldn't find a motherboard as cheap as the one they had originally put in.
Now, less than 2 years after purchase, the computer is down again, and they deny that I had a 3 year warranty (which is listed on my receipt). So don't believe the "3 year standard warranty" they put on the web site - it amounts to 1 year of poor service and nothing after that.
After having the first round of problems, I looked around the net for info on the company (too bad I didn't do that before buying!). One comment on another site mentioned a whole list of previous business names associated with the same address in Ohio, so apparently they reincarnate themselves fairly often (makes "NewGen" an appropriate name, I guess). It wouldn't surprise me if this company disappeared fairly soon as well."
"No response to warranty issues via phone or email.
Autoresponders do not count, people!

"We helped my mother in law order a pc through newgenpc, because we had got ours through them with no problems and loved the machine. With her order however we have had nothing but problems. To begin with they sent us the wrong tracking number. This caused a major problem when we checked the online delivery through UPS, it showed that it had been delivered to a different address here in town. Ups gave us the phone number of the address and we contacted them. Well, turned out he had bought a pc also.
After much ado it turned out that she was given the wrong tracking number. So with a new tracking number now established, we waited for the pc to arrive. It finally did Dec 13, 2004. BUT it wasn't the one ordered. So my husband who works 8 to 5 if not later, emailed the company let them now what was wrong and asked that they please build the right tower and send it along with a prepaid label for us to return the wrong item. (I mean after all WE did not screw up the company did, so why should we pay for shipping 3 times?)
Well, he never heard back so he called on his lunch break and was told that it would be looked into. Well his mother called tonight and said she recieved the following in her email and did not understand what it was about.

computer problem, needs an RMA, but does not want to call, so email him with the question on what's wrong with the computer, and we'll do it the hardest way, if he does not want to take care of it over the phone. order number 133949.
Thank you. "
The "Customer Service" rep accidently mailed this to my mother in law.
So this is how they deal with screw ups in thier company. We told her to call the credit card company and fight the charge and let them know about this email. I am also calling channel 8, and both local papers tomorrow. I am sure they will have a field day with this. Especially during the Holiday Season when consumers get ripped off.

"I purchased a system from this company. After 3 weeks of the excuse "we're testing your system" it shipped in the 4th week when I called to cancel my order. When I received the computer the IDE cables were not hooked to the system board and the modem was not seated. After 7 months the fan went out on the system and fried the CPU. I tried to get support from this company and got none.
I was in the middle of mid-terms when the machine went down. I'm a 6-year field hardware technician so I called the company and asked to have them send me a replacement system board so I could get my machine up and running again. They said I had to ship the whole machine back. This was not do-able. I let them know why I couldn't send the whole system back, they didn't care. I asked to speak to an officer of the company, the tech support manager told me that he'd leave a message but I probably wouldn't get a call back and the officers rarely come into the office.
I'm very disappointed by the support I received from this company. They were in no way willing to work with me at all, and were rude. I spoke with some people in the sales department, and although they couldn't help me were very polite and friendly. I would suggest NOT buying from this company."
"Brought my system 6/18/02. It has been working well till a couple of days ago. The 400 watts power supply died. I had to pay $39.99 to get a 300 watt replacement from CompUSA. Also note that though the website is NewgenPc.com, My invoice is from AmeriComp,Inc.
All in all except for the power supply, the system has done well. Still, don't get fooled by the 10.00 rating. If u can find the old rating for this company(where are they?), they were less then stellar. Certainly not 10.00
Got am email from NewGenPc.com. Told me I had to call them for a RMA on the power suppply. Only thing is I don't have long distance, it is blocked on my phone. I don't see why I can't get a RMA by email, but what do I know? Man I hope nothing else goes wrong with my system.
By the way be sure to check out AmeriComp Inc. As stated above it is the same company. It's rating (AmeriComp) is at 2.85 the last time I checked"
"One of the best resellers in the Internet. Prices, shipping and products are EXCELLENT!
Keep up the good work."
