"Stay AWAY from these people, they also go by the name TechPro Warranty. Same stories as you all have told....they hang up on you, put you on hold forever, won't stand behing their warranty service. Try to send you refurbished instead of new equipment...just dishonest people. We bought a Sharp 52" LCD in 2007. We have a problem with it now and they are saying we didn't register the warranty so we'll have to wait a yr to get repair. Then he said for us to ship our tv to him and he'll see what he can do, UHHH? YEAH RIGHT! not that stupid. Now he says he'll ship us a refurb but I don't trust we'll ever see that after reading these reviews...plus, who knows what kind it will be and what will be wrong with it. We purchased the tv from ShopDigitalOnline, which is another one of their scam companies. Look them up on the BBB. They have like 10 companies....STAY AWAY....."
"Purchased two TV's on the phone. When they arrived, they were clearly marked "refurbished". When I called the store, they told me that they weren't really refurbished, but had been taken back by the factory and "checked out". When I calle dthe factory, they said that what I was told was not true. I called the store back and was told that I would get a 12 month warranty if I would keep the sets, but I never received the acknowledgemnet of that. When the sound malfunctioned six months later, I called the store (Henry, the manager), I was told there was "nothing we can do." My recommendation--DO NOT do business with these lying creeps--they will screw you!!"
"Stay away from this site! Please do your research and find the additional aliases for the vendor...There are a few! Just beware of the vendor location of Brooklyn, NY. But thanks to all of your warnings and negative reviews, I caught this early. This was my third attempt to order the Samsung online since the local stores have it priced at $400 more. I placed the order on Wednesday and immediately followed up with an email. In return, I received a reply asking me to call and confirm my order. At that time, I was offered a warranty which I declined (the action noted in many of the reviews I found online). I was then told the item would ship within 24 hours. Additionally, I noticed that my Order Status changed from "In Process" to "NTN". It was only after researching "NTN" that I stumbled on a slew of negative reviews, one which noted the same status change after declining a warranty. I gave an additional day and today sent an email inquiring on the status. After I didn't receive a response, I called to inquire. I was at that time told that the product was back-ordered. Amazing how the product has become back-ordered not even two days since it was confirmed in stock over the phone! I immediately requested the cancellation of my order before the rep could even finish his explanation. I also phoned my bank to ensure no transactions were pending from the vendor. Beware! "
"I'm here to warn people about nextstepplasma.com and please do thorough research on retailers with deals too good to be true. I only did research on the model TV that I was looking for and the best price. Had I done 5 more minutes of research and googled nexstepplasma.com, I would have found reviews from a lot of dissatisfied customers.
Here is their scam: Using various search engines you will find that nextstepplasma.com will have the lowest price on product and shipping. You will then place your order. After a day or two you will go online to check on the status of your order. You order will appear to be "pending". You will then call them to see what the problem is. This is when they inform you that your item is a refurb BUT it's actually brand new, they just bought it from another supplier and had to send it back to the factory to make sure it was new. (If they buy it new, why do they have to send it back to make sure it's new?) Oh, and they try to upsell you on an extended warranty too. Later, you will check back on the status of your order and the total will be higher (mine was $50). When you call them back to dispute they will say that it is a mandatory insurance charge to go with the shipping. They will also claim to have recorded the previous conversation when you called about your pending order and that you agreed to the added charge (I didn't). When you ask to hear the recorded phone call they will say it is impossble for them to play it over the phone to you (at least my conversation couldn't be played back to me). They say that it can only be heard through their headset. If you demand for them to cancel your order they will split the difference of the mandatory insurance because it will cost them double shipping to get the product back. I haven't seen my refund yet. I will be in contact with VISA's fraud department if I don't see it soon.
To a certain degree this is partly my fault. It may be an expensive lesson for me, but I hope that others can benefit from lesson.
Buyer beware of nextstepplasma.com !!!!!!"
