BUYER BEWARE - NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY

"Although they do have some very nice clothing, some items need to be returned. I ordered $1700.00 worth of merchandise from them and unfortunately $1,100.00 needed to be returned. I used the return label they sent with the package and took it to the Post Office. The tracking number showed that I had taken it to the post office and that 5 days later their shipper picked it up. There is no further information beyond that. The Post Office told me that the third party shipper picks up the box and takes it to a distribution center that multiple companies use to process returns. I contacted North Style and they said I needed to wait at least 6 weeks. After the 6 week mark I contacted them again only to be told that yes indeed Fed Ex picked up my package from the post office but they assume it to be on the dock and since they have a lot of returns it may take a few more weeks, please call back. I asked how will I know you've processed the return, they said to wait to see it on my credit card. They do not correspond via email (because the return is being processed at a third party site and they have no way of tracking my return) and it will not show on my order history on the NorthStyle website for the same reason. I will NEVER do business with this company again and strongly urge anyone considering to do business with them to think twice."

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

"Terrible! Shipping from this company always take exceedingly long. While the merchandise is sometimes wonderful, it's also often not so wonderful.

I ordered a coat from them in October of 2018. Almost a week went by and I finally received a shipping notice. But after three weeks I had not received my order and the tracking information continued to show 'processing' as the status. I called the customer service line a week ago and they said the shipment must be lost and offered to reship or refund my money. I asked for a full refund and they said they were processing the refund and it would be back on my credit card within 48-72 hours. It's now been a week and I still don't have the refund. I called again and spoke to the exact same person. She said they were processing my refund and it would be back on my credit card within 48-72 hours. Exactly the same line of garbage as a week ago. She said this time she was 'escalating' the refund. Whatever.

Be warned - not a reputable company and their merchandise is NOT worth the aggravation associated with dealing with them.

Misleading delivery information

"I will NEVER ORDER from NorthStyle again. I was given the runaround by customer service. When I ordered online, I paid for faster shipping in addition to their exorbitant shipping cost. The standard shipping said 3 to 5 days. So I paid for faster shipping, thinking it would be 2 to 4 days and arrive in time for an event. When it didn't arrive, I called customer service. I was told that meant that the merchandise would be removed from the warehouse in 2-4 days, shipped to my area via FedEx and delivered via USPS. The actual shipping would take 5-8 business days!!! THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!! My order is supposed to arrive Saturday by the end of the day. Do not order from this company!!!"

Very pleased with order

"After reading so many negative reviews of this company, I almost didn't send my order for some very stylish clothing in their catalog. But I thought I would give them a try, expecting the worst. My order came in a timely manner, the clothing fit, and the quality matched the description perfectly. I'll order from them again."

"They lie about when your pkg will ship, then they continue to lie when you call them about your shipment...we've been short-handed, etc. I ordered last year and refused to order any longer. Stupidly, I forgot and ordered again from them. Same runaround. I am reporting them to the BBB,"

Disappointing

"As a Christmas gift, my husband purchased a sweater I had selected from NorthStyle. I was very excited, but when I received it, it was defective and the quality was not quite what I expected. When I returned it, in addition to not being reimbursed for the shipping, I had to pay an additional $13 to return it. Very disappointing."

Poor customer service

"When the catalog came out, my MIL loved the jacket on the cover so I ordered it at the end of November for Christmas. I was told it was on backorder already even though it was the featured jacket ON THE COVER! I sent an e mail requesting further updates and received a response saying they would get back to me within 48 hours. NEVER heard back. Finally called and got through to customer service who said the shipment was scheduled in on January 22nd (Two freaking months after I ordered). I asked if they were going to expedite shipping and she said they use FedEx Ready Post which goes through the PO. I said for $16 shipping you are sending it by slowest means possible??? If I receive nothing more from them after the supposed January 22nd date I will be in touch with the owner of this company and make sure everyone I know never, ever orders from them. They are a disgrace. FYI - after you order they final screen says if you want to save on shipping, give us your e mail. Turns out to be some paid for service at 14.95/month that they want to bill automatically. Scam."

"Ordered on 12/14 with plenty of time to ship from east coast to west coast, and arrive by Christmas. It's been a week, yes, a week, the item is still located on the east coast 7 days after being sent. If its here by new years I'll be surprised. I know one thing, won't be using these folks again."

Poor Customer Service

"Placed order on 11/16 (J9881734). Item was on backorder. I followed up via email on 12/4 requesting information on a shipping date because I needed to change the shipping address if the item was not arriving by 12/14. Received an auto response that someone would get back to me within 48 hours. After several days with no response, I sent a 2nd request for information (around 12/11 or 12/12) to which I received no response. Just today, 11 business days from my original inquiry, I receive a useless response telling me my package was shipped on the 13th and to allow 10 business days for delivery. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That did nothing but annoy me even more. Because of the lack of response and poor customer service, that package is arriving at my house long after I've left town for the holidays. I had to pay $11 shipping and now I will have to spend more money to ship the item to the person I ordered it for. If not for the fact that my mom really wants the item I ordered, I would have cancelled. Rest assured, I will not be ordering from Northstyle again. At the very least, I feel my shipping charges should be refunded and if the company really wants to do the right thing, they will give me an additional amount off the purchase price."

Shipping costs are exhorbitent

I ordered a nice black herringbone jacket with black velvet trim and I had planned to wear it to work. I normally wear a large or sometimes a medium, so I based on other people's reviews, I ordered a medium. It's still way too big. The shoulders were big, there's too much fabric in the "swing" part of the jacket, and overall it's just too big. I was going to return it and get a small, but they've already charged me $12.49 for shipping, bringing the original cost of the jacket to $102.44. Next I'l have to pay shipping back, and then I'll be charged for shipping again, and if it still doesn't fit, I'll have to pay shipping again or just give the jacket away. That could end up being more than $50 of shipping ! Cute as many of their items are, I'm not impressed with this company trying to make money off of shipping charges, and I won't be ordering anything again.

"The DAY my recent catalog arrived I called to order a holiday dress, however I was told was DISCONTIUED? Talk about poor attention to detail... This surprised me as items I ordered 2 years ago are STILL in the catalog! How can items be discontinued before the catalog even arrives? "

"I love Northstyle products. I've bought mostly dresses. They are great- last forever, fit perfectly and the color never fades. Returns experiences have been great. Really surprised to read all the negative posts. It's almost as if they bought from a different company. My only suggestion is provide free postage after 100 spend. Postage is what keeps me from making more purchases. "
