"At first I was relieved that I found a specialty store that stocked SNAP Server parts, referred by Procooling.com.
When I went to submit the order, I noticed that my $5 item cost $10 to ship. I'm not unfamiliar with high shipping costs since I do buy a fair share on ebay, but it's irritating nonetheless and I made note of it on their "Comment" section.
A few days after, I received a FedEx tracking email. It showed my billing city and zip as my shipping city and zip (two different cities), so I sent my first email to NWT asking for clarification (politely).
Next, I received a CYA (cover your ass) email from Patrick Wong going into explicit detail complete with attachments showing how *I* was in the wrong and that I had entered in the incorrect ship-to ZIP. Now I'm sure I made the mistake, but I asked how we can remedy the situation. I needed that part for a important project. Can I just order another one, while being credited for the last order, etc.
The response I got was laughable. Now you've got to remember - this is a small company in a niche market:
"We can, but we would have to charge a restocking fee for the original one, and a handling fee to cover the cost of packaging another one for you. We would stil pay for the shipping. Also our shipping clerk is out sick today."
I will never do business with this company again. A shame, really - since I probably won't be able to get this part without buying another SNAP server to part out."
