"Ordered a newly released ZyXEL USG-100 with complete subscription filtering package. Have always been pleased with Nowthor service and ZyXEL products. This is my first time test of a ZyXEL UTM type product. Nowthor didn't have product in stock, had to be shipped from west coast overnight for additional $60 for me to have by the weekend for setup. There was then inititially a problem with ZyXEL being able to general subscription licenses for the USG-100 and 200 models as Carlos at Nowthor told me. Carlos was able to get my codes for me late Friday night so that I could completely configure the new unit on Saturday and Sunday for a project site. I am happy with Nowthor and Carlos did get my codes so I have a functional UTM and not just an expensive firewall, I do appreciate that a lot. Otherwise I would have had to deploy a spare Fortigate unit we have on hand for such events and it would have wound up costing our client more. It does appear that perhaps ZyXEL started getting the USG100/200 units in the distribution pipeline a little bit before they were ready to support them with their UTM licensing subscription system.

All of this said, I have bought from Nowthor for sevewral years and have recommended them to associates as well and I will hearitly continue to do so. I have had only positive experiences with them. I am also impressed with the ZyXEL UTM ( they call it a unified security gateway or USG ) so far as well. I have extensive experience with Fortinet products which are great, but we've been looking to branch out to other platforms as well. We love the ZyXEL firewalls so we wanted to try these second generation ZyXEL products. For small bus, home office type settings this USG 100/200 series looks to be ideal..
