"On 1-22-13 I ordered a Brother MFC printer from Office Depot. I was advised it would be delivered 1-23-13, but it was not. When I inquired on 1-24-13 as to why my order for the printer was shown "in process", I was told they would have to check with the warehouse and the warehouse would get back to me in 4 hours. They did not ever get back to me. When I checked back 9 hours later, I was told that they had deleted my order due to "inventory reasons", but without my calling, they never told me they had done so. She (Faith) asked if I wanted to re-order and I said yes. She said it couldn't be delivered until 1-30-13 a week after originally promised. Then she wanted to charge my card again, but they had already placed a hold on my card for the purchase price and I did not have enough credit limit left for another such charge. She said she'd call again Monday. I can't wait, I got another printer from a local store."
"I ordered a desk and it broke a few days later. I had purchased the best "extended" protection plan of 2 years for it and fought with them from the first week until the day that my warranty expired and nothing was ever done. I will not return for any supplies and tell everyone I know, in hopes that nobody will have to go through what I had to with them."
"Ordered 11 x 17 paper and got 8 1/2 by 11. Paid in advance and still have not been reimbursed after 10 days."
"I ordered for a external hard disk on 11/22 and on ordering they told I will be getting it on 11/28, later informed it went to backordered. If you see a good deal on blackfriday at Office Depot and if you want that on time don't go for that."
"Terrible place to do business online. I won't be visiting their store either. They are liars. They said my credit card info was incorrect and yet my order went through. Then they wouldn't place the order even though I gave them the "correct" information. I was disconnected, on hold and talking to about 6 different OD agents for about 2 hours only to be told that a supervisor would call me back in 5 minutes to resolve the issue. THEY NEVER CALLED ME BACK! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never do business with Office Depot again."
"It took 30 minutes to get someone to wait on me at the store on 4901 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, Fl. All I needed was to have a paper faxed. Finally the associate faxed it to me, brought back the transaction report and asked me to get in line to pay for it. The report said incomplete! I went back to him and asked him to do it again correctly. He placed the paper into the fax machine and began talking to other co-workers, answering the phone, began waiting on a customer who arrived after me. I approached the associate and told him that I was there before this customer that he was helping and could he see if my fax was complete. He ignored me and continued and completed this ladie's requst! I asked him again and this time, he went over to the other side of the counter with a customer who had arrived before me which I thougt was complete. He ignored me completely. All the associates were standing around and voiced that he was the only one who could help me. I stood at the same counter where he was only a foot away. I was very angry and told him to at least check my fax and that I was next and to complete what he had done with me. The other lady customer was getting angry at me and I was getting angry at him and of course the ones who had cut in front of me or who he allowed to cut in front of me. Thirty minutes and I was getting angrier. Finally a 2nd associate walked up and didn't say anything. I asked him for help and then asked him to check the fax machine for me and also told him what had happened. Then the first associate said that this girl had arrived before me and he had to help her. I told this 2nd associate about how he let the other lady cut in front of me. This guy had the nerve to say to me; our sales associate probably didn't see you because you were hunched over. I stood 1 foot away from the associates and they were making fun of my Lupus condition where I am unable to straighten out my back completely. I had to hold onto the counter because I had to wait so long. It also cost 2.79 to fax one sheet. Crazy associates who are unprofessional and the cost. Go to Fed Ex or to UPS and forget Office Depot!"
"The worst online shopping experience ever! I decided to order school supplies for my kids thinking this would save me time. The shipment was made in four seperate orders, I received 3 small orders from ups but the biggest order never came. I went online and it stated it was delivered...I called office depot asking where my package was. They called me several times (even at 5:50 am) saying that the delivery company delivered and a lady signed for it at the office. The proof of delivery was missing part of my address and no one at the office had that name of the signer or received a box. Office depot then contacted that they can reorder the supplies again and charge me AGAIN...I said NO WAY...they then said they will process my refund ....2 weeks later STILL no refund ...I wrote them 2 times after this and still received no feedback rega"
"TF700 at Office Depot; Misrepresentation
I ordered the TF700 and dock from Office Depot 7/13/12 and was told by the phone rep that the items were in stock and the delivery date is 7/16/12.
The morning of 7/16/12 I spoke with a rep and was told that the item was on the truck out for delivery and I had to be home to receive the delivery (between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.) I waited until 5:10 p.m. and contacted Office Depot again and was told the driver was running behind and to be patient - it will be delivered today (7/16). The rep said he would call the driver to ensure it is on the way.
By 6:40 p.m. there was no delivery so I called Office Depot again - they said it was on the way and would be delivered.
Today, 7/17/12, I looked at the order status online and the delivery date was changed from 7/16 to 7/18/12 some time after 10:00 p.m. last night. Office Depot lied to me three times about the tablet being on the truck out for delivery. My guess is that they did not have them in stock as stated when I placed the order. I cancelled the order and went to a trustworthy company - Amazon"
"Unbelievable!!! Over the past year I have spent a couple thousand dollars in office furniture at the various local (South Bay) Office Depot locations. Each time I go in, regardless of which location it is, I get the same story from the various sales associates some of which have been managers telling me to get the service plan because if, for example a chair fails, I would get a refund for the full value of the chair so I could go out and buy another one.
Well, I spent $250 on a chair that was rated for 5+ hours use for someone up to 350lbs. Well, I do use the chair for 3-5 hours per day and only weight about 190lbs. I got this particular chair in September and by around May of this year it was already going bad. It was crooked, and the seat was worn flat. The seat can no longer be sat in for more than an hour at a time without major discomfort. Of course I was excited... I had bought the replacement warranty for $40 and it actually paid off! HA!!! Come to find out, yes you do get a refund, but it's in the form of a gift card. Okay, reasonable, I'll just get another chair of the same value as promised, and be happy. After all, I wanted a good chair, so I'll just find a different one that hopefully is better than this one.
So I file the claim and get my gift card, except to my surprise, the gift card value is only $250 and they have not refunded the tax! I call to complain and get told that the fine print somewhere excludes the tax. I ask for the Supervisor and she has a nasty attitude telling me I should have read all the fine print and not believed the what the people in the stores were telling me, and that they were covered because the details were included in the fine print of the pamphlet.
Of course the part that makes me the most upset isn't how badly I've been lied to or treated, but what the out of pocket costs end up being. The gift card is useless to me unless I actually shop there again, and I spent $40 for the plan, and will have to come out of pocket another $25 to cover the tax on an equivalent chair!!! Furthermore, it's been an excruciatingly painful process to register my chair, and go through the process of actually filing the claim. All for a chair that has been completely terrible!!! So in the end I'll have spent $315 plus several hours (around 5) on a terrible chair and a horrible experience! Oh yeah, and goodie, I also get to build another chair! "
"I ordered a laser printer from Office Depot's website, but quickly realized after ordering that my significant other had already purchased one for me elsewhere. I then submitted a cancellation on the order. The cancellation process went very well and the staff I talked to over chat online were very polite. The only thing was the funds were still deducted from my account and were not deposited back into my account until six days later. I would think that technology would allow for a much more expeditious refund or no charge at all, but that does not seem to have been the case."
"BEWARE ORDERING FROM OFFICE DEPOT!! I ordered a product from Office Depot, however after reading reviews I canceled the order (within hours) of ordering. I was told the product had already been shipped. I refused the product and returned it. I called to check the status of my refund. I was told "a couple of days" after the product was in the warehouse the refund would be issued. Called after a couple of days--told yes the product had been received in warehouse and credit should be received in 5 - 7 business days. THREE WEEKS LATER I called and was told yes by the end of the week I should have the credit. NO CREDIT! Told Representative would call me back to issue the credit, no one called. NOT SURPRISED! I have called and called but here ONE MONTH LATER I am still waiting on my refund!! Can anyone HELP ME? This is not pocket change, I am owed over $500.00!!!!"
"The order was processed quickly and I received my order within a few days. Was happy with the entire transaction."
"We have been office depot customers for quite some time.
We bought 3 chairs and computer desk from this store. We always, always get excellent service and very fast shipping.
The desk we bought went on sale after 3 weeks we got it. Customer service issued refund without any problem after one call. We never had any problems with office depot. We would buy again from this store in a future.
Thank you for the excellent service.

"Ordering from Office Depot in order to save $50 on a $250 item was the WORST retail related decision I've made in quite some time. That savings has long been eaten up by the time I've spent and frustration I've encountered dealing with these monkeys. It's certainly the LAST time I'll be shopping with them, and I have a feeling that it's only a matter of time before word of mouth due to dismally poor service with send the entire company packing. To the people at the top: I hope that your large house(s) and frequent vacations can help you forget about the damage you're doing to all those attempting to support your criminal actions. See you in hell."
"Same as many posts I saw, I was extremely disappointed with the services from Office Depot Canada. I ordered a cabinet drawer online. The product came with one missing caster (out of 4). I phoned the same day to request for the missing one. The person answered my phone told me she would send an email to describe what was missing and someone would contact me within 24 hrs. It took 2 days for that person to phone and left me a voicemail to email him. His name was Robert Brown. He said he had sent me an email. Infact, I did not receive any email at all. It was stupid that Robert was asking me to give him more information of what was missing. I phoned back to customer service telling them how frustrated it was for me to keep calling and telling them the same story. They made it sound like it was my fault by double checking my email address and phone #. They also requested my personal cell # (their excuse: so they could connect with me)and I confirmed that the only # I had ever given to them was my cell #. A couple days later, nothing happened and I phoned the customer service again. They told me that they had sent me several emails but did not see my response. They said would send me an email to instruct me how to return the item since they did not have the missing part to replace and they did not the item that is as same as the one I ordered. Well, without asking me what I wanted to do about the item. They commanded me to return it. Since the item I ordered was for my work and I had to go through approvals for it, I told them it would be too much work for me to do so and I did not mind waiting for the missing part when they had it another time. Next day, someone named Alana phoned, left a v/m to ask the same question: "what was missing". I was quite fed up, I phoned and spoke to Canola, requested to speak to the manager how disappointed I was about all of the hassels I've been through. Canola tried and let me know the manager, Alana, would call me within one hour. I phoned them about 1pm. and @ about 2:15pm, someone phoned and let me know had Alana phoned (she never did)and I missed her call (this person mentioned the missed call was about 12:45pm;how stupid, they blamed me for missing the call but gave a time that was even earlier than I put my request in)and requested me to give a specific time for Alana to phone back. I did and then realized that time wouldn't work. I phoned them back and gave another time. Alana ended up phoning me at the first time I gave which I had already told them that it wouldn't work for me anymore. It was more rude that Alana would not leave a voice mail at all (I got to know she phoned when looking at my missed call list).
Even though I did explain to them that I could not answer my cell phone due to nature of my work. They had expectation that I had to answer each phone call and blamed me for not receiving it and blamed me for not receiving emails (which they've never sent). At last, Robert Brown did send me an email telling me a whole set of 4 casters were sent to an address (I looked and realized it was my home address). I responded and clarified with them that my order was shipped to my office and this one should be,too. I requested Robert to forward my email to Alana to tell her how disappointed I was since they did not care. Robert emailed back and asked if I received the caster anyways. I responded : no. He then was stupid enough to send me a print screen from the web with info stating that the casters would arrive in 5 days (from the date he communicated with me). He did not mention about whether he would forward my email to his manager, Alana. I don't care anyways since I am exhausted at the end. Alana, Robert and the stupid staff at Office Depot Canada were driving me nuts when I gave them the business. If the item were for my personal use, I would have returned it right away. Anyways, I hope when you read this email, please do not consider ordering any item from Office Depot Canada. You can clarify what I am telling you here is true by calling Office Depot Canada at 1 ***-***-**** and ask for the manager's name. I ordered the item on Feb 2 , 2012 and last email with Robert Brown was on Feb 17. It took me almost 15 days for a missing caster and not receiving it. Goodluck for those that their order items were missing more important part.
PROBLEM'S NOT SOLVED!"
