"I purchased 35-8M0042285 inline oil filters for my 2006 mercury 2 stroke 225 to replace 35-18206-001, originally installed on motor.
According to their website they state that 35-8M0042285 replaces 35-18206-001. This information is not true, due to the diameter of end fittings. I tried to install one, not really noticing the difference, until I tried installing it, in which some oil entered the new/wrong oil filter. I called and told them that these do not compare to 35-18206-001, and their answer was, well that's what mercury marine states. After a few emails and sending them the serial number of the motor, nothing was truly resolved. They still backed their statement that they should work and that they have sold hundreds of those filters. Long story short, I had to pay for the shipping of the filters and they did not return the money for the one filter I opened. Save yourself the headache and money, shop at a different place for your boat parts "

"I am no marine mechanic, I have a friend working on my motor that told me I was going to need several parts. Ron was very helpful and cooperative to make sure I got the correct parts for my motor to make the process easier. If it werent for him I would have ordered the wrong Pistons I needed because my motor is a 1993 (the 1992 had smaller wrist pins)...he knew this right off the bat and helped me to make sure it was right. The customer service was excellent, very friendly, easy going, and unlike most businesses these days they actually cared about the customer. I came to an agreement with Ron to throw in a few extra parts to match competitors pricing and he did exactly what he said he would and included it in my order without me having to remind him. The pricing on there parts are reasonable and the parts are quality parts. I was also advised that my order would arrive at my door two days later, and it did (other companies tell you a day you should have it just to make you happy....this company was exact). I did find out my cylinder walls needed to be bored out and I had to send back the pistons I ordered and buy the next size up from them. There return policy was no problem at all, and Ron worked with me so that all would go smooth.
