"Worst rebate company I have ever used. If a company is going to use them for a rebate I will shop for the next lowest price I can find at a different store."
"They mailed me saying that my rebate check is in the mail. Its been 7 weeks since, have called them 6 times (first the phone connection is good, then after 10 minutes it goes bad - its a scam they have). Have written to them 12 times using email - they just keep telling me that they are looking into it.... no answer, no rebate.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM - stay away."
"Never buy anything with an onrebate.com rebate.
It's a total scam. Read more about it from many people under tigerdirect.com, the vendor I purchased this item from.
I submitted my paperwork right away after a May 24 purchase. Having read the cautionary tales here (in the tigerdirect.com store ratings), I sent my materials with delivery confirmation and kept copies of everything.
On June 28th, I was told my rebate check had been mailed. By July 14th, still no check, so I emailed customer support. They said, oh, you need to wait until July 28th, and if it doesn't arrive by then, we can reissue the check. Why it would take one month to get from Florida to California, I have no idea.
So on July 31st, I emailed back to inform them that the check hadn't arrived. Now they have a different story--the rebate is still "pending". Their website has also changed the status to "pending", though it had said the check was issued on June 28th.
Fortunately, I have the July 14th email from them saying the check was mailed, so I can prove that that is false.
Now I get no response to my emails pointing out that they were either lying on June 28th or they're lying now. Which is it?
All I know is that I am owed a $50 rebate, and have spent hundreds of $ worth of my time trying to chase the check.
Oh, and don't try their customer service line. I called it immediately after mailing my rebate forms, because I wanted to opt out of their mailing lists and per their web instructions, that's how to opt out. Unfortunately, their phone tree not only has no live person answering, it has no opt-out option, so it's a dead end.
By contacting the Better Business Bureau - www.bbbonline.com - I managed to get them to acknowledge my opt-out request, but I have still gotten tons of spam and junk mail since then, so I cannot be sure they have honored it.
Given their other shady business practices, I wouldn't trust them any further than I can see them--i.e. not at all.
AVOID THEM! I wish I had. Not worth it--just a scam to collect marketing information for their business partners. "
