"I've had to lie about being a customer of Chip Eckert's in order to get this comment posted. Lying is not sonthing that I feel comfortable with but I hope that you'll forgive me.
We are a trade supplier and supplied Chip Eckert with goods over a period of 18 months. Getting payment was problematic but Chip seemed like a good guy and we actually shipped over $500 in of product without prepayment. What a mistake!
Back in September 2002 Chip claimed to have sent a money order. It never did arrive. He's not even attempted to provide evidence that it was sent or cashed. We've sent dozens of e-mails, faxes and voicemails. We got one response purporting to be from Chip's step- son saying that Chip was ill and unable to face the stress of the business. This was interesting as he was still maintaining his many websites:
www.reverendchip.com
www.data-detective.com
www.tragedy-cleanup.com
and various others.
Phone calls are all answered by a voicemail system and nobody ever calls back.
BBB are investigating Mr Eckert as are the Red Cross Fraud Investigators - it is alleged that he may have been involvend in a 9/11 scam. Any clients still having outstanding issues should contact BBB in Cincinnati or if they feel that there is a complaint of a criminal nature contact the police department.
Overclock-Watercool apparently ceased trading in the spring of 2002. I would strongly recommend that anybody contemplating doing business with Mr Eckert should think very carefully.
Just to show that this is a genuine posting, I can be contacted at ****@****"
"CAUTION! Chip Eckert, of Overclock-Watercool sold me merchandise in September for $883 and never delivered the hardware. After nearly 20 emails and lots of excuses, as of January 2003 and excuses, so far he has only refunded $250 of the money, and gave me a $300 bad personal check."
"Never received my order of a waterblock and mounting accessories. Lost about $50. Never got a response and still can not get a hold of Chip."
