"In a few works, PCTek Online is a decent retailer. I ordered a barebones book pc form them in Oct. of 2001. The initial order went thru smoothly. I received my package within the week. It came from the East Coast so I was happy with the timing. The problem, the mobo was no good. I called them the same day and requested an RMA #. At this time he began to tell me that the problem was not the mobo but it was my processor. I then told him that I have tried 3 different processors with no effect. At that time he referred me to the RMA page on their website. I requested an RMA and received it the next day. I was instructed that they would have to charge my card for the second time so they could ship out my product ASAP and that they would credit the card as soon as they received the returned package, I agreed. Once again the shipping was fast and this time the mobo was good. The only downfall was the time it took them to credit my card. It took them over three weeks and many phone calls from me. After it was all done I would order from them again."
"I ordered an Impression MP3 CD player from this company on March 13. Living in NJ, the order arrived Monday on March 16. However, the player had a few problems with it. Batteries didn't work in the player and the player didn't recognize MP3 CDs, I immediately contacted them for an RMA. The customer service directed me to their RMA page. I sent an email and got an RMA number the next day. The following day I sent the player back and wanted a MAX-300 player in exchange for the MAX-280 which was a 4$ difference. They agreed to it without any charge. They assured me that they would send out the RMA on Monday. But I waited till Tuesday and even Wednesday but the player didn't arrive. I contacted them and they said they don't know about it and had me call them back twice. On the third time the Customer service told me it had been shipped. I asked them for a tracking number and they handed it to me, and to my surprise they just shipped it the day I called them. I received the player the following day and it's working fine so far if you ignore some problems with it, like inability to play MP3s with different bit sampling rates, but this is likely a manufacturer defect.
All in all, I am pleased with the transaction but Customer service could definitely use some work."
