"After four years of knowledgeable and reliable service, I wouldn't go anywhere else. The system they built for me in 2001 has been running almost constantly from that time, and we use it to control home automation, manage a dynamically changing website, and act as a network server and central hub for the family's daily word processing, accounting, and Internet needs. Recently I purchased a second system from them in order for two family members to play a resource and bandwith intensive online game simultaneously, and the results have been fantastic. The first system still rates highly at pcpitstop.com, and the 2nd system ranks better than 99% of all the systems tested there.
The staff is not only friendly, but extremely well-versed in seemingly every aspect of computing. Not only did they recommend the right components for the systems I wanted to build, but they were able to tell me exactly why each part was the right one for the job. Their prices are fair, they answer all my questions quickly and accurately, and everything I have ever bought from them has run without even a hiccup. Portland is lucky to have them."
"This computer shop should be ashamed to call themselves capable of repairing or able to work on any computers!
Took my computer in to get the "C" drive completely cleaned, and my windows programs installed. I don't know what extra was installed on my computer, but it came home with more PROBLEMS than it went in with!
I paid $90.00 for their tech to basically force the Windows 98 second edition into my computer. From what the receptionist said it took THREE TIMES before they got it in, on the paper called final testing it was written it only took TWO TIMES. If there was any problems like that I should have been called and the problem explained so I could decide in purchasing another program. I was not informed UNTIL I arrived to pick up my totally fouled up mess of a computer. I got it home and it had one big noticable flaw that THE COMPUTER NEVER EXPERIENCED EVER BEFORE! Whenever I get on the internet the computer all of a sudden will black out and close down. I have to turn it off, restart and it goes through the whole business of telling me the computer was not closed down properly so windows is checking the "C" drive for errors. I signed up with Comcast for faster internet, and it was certainly fast! The computer would shut down 12 to 13 times at one sitting. What does it do to a computer being shut down, restarted, go through the whole checking the "C" drive, many, many, many times! I would get so disgusted I finally gave up even getting on the internet after being so frustrated and furious at how badly the computer was performing. The first few times it did this over and over I called Pacific Solutions to ask why was my computer doing this new trick? I was told to bring the computer back in, pay them MORE MONEY to look it over. The receptionist said I probably got a VIRUS! Either my computer "caught" this VIRUS at their shop or on the ride home in the car! I've NEVER had a virus on this computer, and it is 4 years old! I finally had to close down my account with Comcast, take the modem into their business office. I went back on the horribly sloooow dial up. The computer still shuts down on a regular basis, but not as often on dial up. I'm going to take my computer into another computer shop and see if they can fix what Pacific Solutions did to my computer. It has all the bad habits it was experiencing BEFORE I took it into Pacific Solutions. My cousin who suggested I take my computer into Pacific Solutions did not know of my complete disgust with flushing $90.00 down the toilet and took her computer into Pacific Solutions a month or so later. Guess what???? Her computer went back the next day, and the next since she was having horrible problems trying to get on the internet, could not change ISP provider, and after THREE TIMES her computer is still a mess! She paid out around $150.00 for Pacific Solutions marvelous "repair"!
Pacific Solutions use to be on the radio Saturday mornings with a woman talking to call in people wanting advice on what was wrong, how to fix or what was needed on their computers. It has not been on the radio for at least a month and a half, and I'm guessing either those people sold out to whatever is running this business into the ground now, or they had a ringer talking to the potential customers! I don't know how or where you find a computer place that knows what they are doing, and you get robbed in broad daylight! I WARN anyone that happens onto this site, stay away from Pacific Solutions if you don't wanted to have a lighter wallet, and bigger problems on your computer. How funny my computer and my cousins came out of their shop in worse shape, the biggest is the modems for some strange reason."
