"The Portrait was a Christmas gift for my wife, when we received the package I told my wife that the box was a gift that my best friend asked me to keep in my house and that he was going to pick it up soon. So it was a Great Surprise for her. My mom and her mom are not with us anymore and they are part of the Portrait, when she opened the box she was so happy with the work that she ended up crying, admiring the beauty of it. Thank you so much David you are a Great Artist :)"

"I hired Paint Your Life to do a charcoal pencil portrait of my two kids with Santa as a Christmas present for my wife. To say I'm disappointed would be a massive understatement. The artwork itself was bad, but even worse was the customer service, as they completely ignored my multiple attempts to contact them. When I finally got ahold of them, their reluctance to honor their money back guarantee was quite frustrating. Eventually they did, but only after a lot of hoops and attempts to dodge my calls and attempts to further swindle.
Here's what happened. The initial digital draft came back solid. I made a couple rounds of tweaks, submitting additional reference photos in the process, and at this point was able to chat with customer services reps online and on the phone, then I signed off on the digital draft, including detailed instructions and get the artist going. When the portrait came back from the artist, however, the artist had turned my one daughter's eye into what I can only describe as a skinless bulging sphere. Her eye does not look like this in real life, it did not look like this in the draft I approved, and it clearly did not look like this in the reference photos. I submitted still more reference photos and described the mistake in detail in the revision form. They sent me a revised version, which did not employ any of the changes to her eye. At this point, it was hard copy, pencil on paper, so there was nothing they could do. But the $400 portrait did not look like my kid.
Given this was a photo of kids looking at Santa, the eyes were the focus of the entire piece. I showed others who agreed the artist looked sort of monstrous. I placed the order in Mid November, and it was now several weeks later. Given the ticking clock, I asked to have this redone from scratch with another artist, which I was earlier told was absolutely an option. However, a customer service rep on the phone pleaded with me to give the artist yet another chance, tried talking me into an oil painting instead (which is never what I wanted), said I might have to pay for express shipping, despite the delays/mistakes being 100% on the Paint Your Life end. I agreed to give the artist one more chance to fix the charcoal drawing. Another day passed, it came back to me and it did not improve at all. I insisted on a new artist.
Paint Your Life reluctantly agreed. Another full week went by, and this second attempt at the portrait - created by a different artist -- was awful. Not just the eye, but the entire thing. Friends actually laughed at it, as the children looked so distorted. At this point, with Christmas now less two weeks away, I asked if I could go back to the original which - while significantly flawed - was not laughable like this new one. The rep was wishy washy, couldn't tell me my options, etc. She said she would "check the warehouse" ... not getting any sort of actual help, I asked to speak to a manager. I was told no manager was available, but I could schedule a phone appointment with a manager.
I agreed, scheduled a call for 10:30 the next day, adjusting my work schedule accordingly. The call never came. I got completely stood up.
For the next two days, I called and called and called, but no one picked up. I emailed several times and got no response. I attempted to do online chat, but got only a bot. Finally, I was able to reach the call center. I asked my options, given it was now 10 days before Christmas. At this time, I simply wanted my money back. There was no way a portrait could be completed and sent to me in time. She pleaded with me to give the artist another chance, offered to pay for express shipping for me, but also noted that it would be "impossible" to get me the portrait on time.
I eventually did get my money back, but it took what ended up being weeks of frustration, numerous unanswered emails, unresponsive online chat and countless calls that were never answered.
The artistic problems were one thing, but the customer service and seeming intentional efforts to avoid the problem and ignore a paying customer - no one even answering the phone - was downright shady. Avoid this company.
