"I bought a set of front brake pads and rotors for my 2008 Tundra. I was afraid they would not be genuine O.E. but they were the real deal at almost 30% off. The shipping was a little higher that expected, but with no sales tax, that was pretty much a wash. Shipping took 5 days. Good experience. If you know exactly what you need, I would highly recommend."
"After reading all the bad reviews I was a bit skeptical about receiving my order at all. However, this was among a few places that still sells OEM parts for my increasingly vintage car, so I decided to gamble, and, in about 1 week got my parts as ordered. Below is my experience.
From what I got in the about section of the site, parts.com is basically an ebay/amazon/craiglist type of store - it provides a large detailed catalog of auto parts, and then anybody (dealers etc) can register and sell a particular part. For this service, parts.com charges you (customer) $2 on top of the cost of the actual cost of parts and shipping. Since the site is basically a brokerage place, returns are probably multi-tier and complicated, as described by other reviewers; luckily, I got what I needed from the very first try. Also, note that the site suggest providing your VIN while making an order (I did) - they promise you will have more grounds to complain if you get a wrong part.
Now, few bad things:
* The site does not guarantee that you will get what you ordered, nor does it guarantee your order will be in stock.
* The purchase is multi-tier process, so you pay parts.com, then wait for their confirmation, then wait for a confirmation from an actual dealer etc - this can take a while before your part gets shipped (mine took about 6 before shipping, plus 2 days for the actual shipping, which is not bad, but not stellar either).
* When you purchase something, you are not given an actual shipping cost. By default, the site charges you at least $10.99. Then, the dealer has a right to increase the shipping charge to up to 15% of your total. This can be frustrating, considering I paid $10.99 shipping for a $30 part, where, judging by the USPS label, the actual shipping cost was probably about $3.50. Still, not bad considering discounted prices on the parts.
Overall, the place seems to work. Hope others will have a similar positive experience."
"I ordered from parts.com because they had the best price for the item I was shopping for. I ordered an item that was supposed to come as a kit with several parts for $103 shipped. They shipped promptly, but I received only one piece of the kit. I emailed asking why all the pieces weren't sent and received no response. I emailed again, no response. I emailed a third time threatening to dispute the charge with my credit card company and finally got a response. They said the item I ordered was only one part and did not come as a kit. Why were all their competitors offering the option of a kit then?
I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card company and won on the grounds that parts.com never responded to the dispute. So I only had to pay $20 to Toyotapartsales.com to get the rest of the items that were supposed to come in the kit. Everything worked out for me, but I can't say that for all the other people that fall victim to parts.com."
"BAD COMPANY _ DO NOT USE!!!!! Over 2 weeks after not receiving my order I finally tracked down someone to talk with at this company. No answer to my emails or "contact us". Finally got a call from Champion Toyota who was trying to fill my order and he told me that the part was damaged in shipping. I said that's great but how come no one ever called me. Unacceptable. Still have not received credit for my order. These guys suck!!!"
"BEWARE SHOPPERS!!!!!
Ordered some parts for my Ford Truck from parts.com and got cheated badly.
Placed an order through their online catalog which turned out to be completely messed up, parts were wrongly categorized with wrong and mixed up item numbers.
I ended up getting the wrong parts, had hard time to communicate with them online or on the phone
In their respond they admitted that it is their mistake and they will correct the online catalog However, the only way for me to get the correct parts is to, place and pay for a new order including S&H only that this time the prices went up about 25% they said its because of a price increase from Ford.
Then send the wrong parts to them on my expense and only after they will receive them they will send me the refund less their deduction of 15% restocking fee and the S&H costs for the first (wrong) order even dough it was clearly their fault
Real unprofessional people. SCAMERS ONLINE, people should be Cautious and avoid ordering from parts.com
I ended up ordering the parts directly from Ford company online, prices were much chipper paid much less for the S&H cost
got it in a couple days and yes this time I got the correct parts no hassle

"I can't get ahold of these jerks
nothing works for customer service and no phone#
the hell with these people
stay away from these fools"
"After finding (including cutaway picture of) the Black molding for the front right door of a 1997 VW Jetta (VIN # provided to them) advertised on parts.com, I ordered said Black part and a few pieces (grommets, clips, etc). When the box arrived, it was easily identifiable as the Primed, fender molding for the Jetta.
No phone number available for this company, only email. So, I use their contact us - orders. No response for 5 days, so I send the same email to contact us - returns.
Response: moldings don't come painted any more, all primed. Parts.com catalogs are incorrect...
Me: Ok, but this isn't even the right piece, much less the right color.
A few more responses about what they think the correct part # is (while I'm looking for "ok, we'll send you such and such part, since I've already placed an order for what should be the correct part).
So, I initiate a return, but hear no response when I ask for return shipping (this being clearly their mistake, their website even claiming that with a VIN # which I provided, they'll verify the part before shipping). No response. Not to mention once they do receive the part back, it is doubtful that they'll refund my $10.99 shipping paid on the original order (which I believe they definitely should since their false advertising and failure to check the part before sending is what caused the shipping charges to be incurred).
Since I get no response from them, I'll simply contest the charge with my credit card company, and let them sort it out (being only out my $3.38 return shipping then). AND, I won't order from them again. "
"I have ordered from this seller twice with good results. Once for an exhaust manifold and a second order for some control arms and bushings, aside from shipping taking a little while to get to me everything was great. The parts are great quality and the price was much lower than other sites and the dealer. overall good experience and would consider using them again."
"No customer support whatsoever. Impossible to get responses once your card has been charged. They were semi-helpful by responding to a message PRE-purchase, but once I paid, they seem to have vanished. I hope they respond to my issue soon, although I am not optimistic. I will never buy from them again. Ever. "
"The order arrived promptly, however I ordered a BEIGE part but they shipped GREY part. They have virtually NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. No way to contact them, they do not respond to messages on the website. Tragedy. Hope they go out of bussiness soon with such approach."
"Very Satisfied at their VOLVO part department!! I've purchased a lot of orders of VOLVO parts at this store. Their VOLVO parts are original or OEM. Most of them are made in German or European. Their price is very good, too. Shipping is very very fast and reasonable! They always accept my returns. Very happy with this store."
"I placed an order 6/23/2008. According to their policies ground shipping costs are "No more than 15% of total order or a minimum of $8.99" on my checkout they charged $10.99 and when they charged my credit card that amount increased to $13.51.
I have attempted to call them multiple times and there is never a human to answer the phone. I have left multiple voice messages and they have been ignored.
I tried to call their corporate office and they were unwilling to help me.
Please be aware that parts.com does not actually sell anything! They are more like eBay than anything else.
I would never buy anything from them again due to their own violation of their polices and the poor "customer service" that ignores your messages.

Update; I sent parts.com a link to this message and they responded back saying " I AM FORWARDING THIS TO OUR WEB MASTER. I AM ASSUMING YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE CHRYSLER BOLTS." when 1) I clearly asked them to call me back only and 2) I had only placed an order for parts for a BMW. I did finally get someone to call me back I think he was from a Ford dealer in Arizona and he was very irate saying $13.51 is what it costs them to ship (no, per fedex.com it costs $7.58 I took care to use the correct weight, package size and residential delivery) "
"Ordered a very small, but expensive part ($185). At checkout it indicated that the shipping "estimate" was $27.78, but this was only and estimate based upon the cost of the item and was subject to change based on the actual size and weight. They also added a $2 handling charge to the order. So I figure, ok this will be adjusted before they ship. Well the item arrives almost two weeks later via Fedex home with a total weight of 2 lbs. So I check my credit card and they charged the full amount. I emailed them to request an adjustment, but never received a reply. Will not buy from again."
"I purchased an electronic automotive part from this merchant. The part was discovered to be defective upon installation. I processed a return/exchange from their website. The next day I received an email saying my return has been rejected. No reason or explanation given. The seller does not provide any phone number to contact them nor an address to send the returns back to. THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS. I have sent them several emails asking for their phone# and address however I have received no response. Time to contact my credit card company.
In addition, the seller overcharges on shipping and is not quick to ship orders.
Avoid this seller at all costs."
