"I have shopped at Peebles since opening. I live in CA but go there first thing ever time I'm home. It has always had quality, variety, numerous depts., wonderful service, the greatest sales and coupons. I was just there last July-August and took pictures of everything I adored. Which added up to a lot. too bad they don't make flat-rate boxes to fit a lot of things they carry. but I did manage to fill several for myself, family, and gifts. Am really going to miss them."

"Alpena, Michigan Peebles store is going out of business. Someone standing by rd had 50% off sign but I knew by experience that there was small print on the sign, unreadable when driving, that probably said somethings were NOT 50% off. When got in store, saw sign that said everything was 30% to 50% off, AND off of the original sticker price. However, when I checked out, the child bead bracelets had an original sticker price of $2.98, & the associate said they were 50% off, so I expected to pay1.49. However, the bracelet rang up for $4, and the receipt shows 50% off of $2.01, which left a final price of $1.99 (your register calculated this...not me). I asked the gal why the original price of bracelet was coming up as $4 when the original white price tag stuck to it,and all the other bracelets, showed $2.98. She said oh, they changed the price, and she proceeded to use the original price of $4 less 50% off. I should have only been charged $1.49 which is 50% off the original sticker price of $2.98. Now 50 cents is not going to break me, but it's the principle of whole experience. You lead people to believe everything is 50% off due to the sign by the road since they cannot read the fine print at that range. Then once they get in the store, apparently some of the items have their original prices MARKED UP so that the company really is not giving the 30% to 50% discount shown in the store. It is bordering on deceitful and shady. You insult the intelligence of consumers with such practices. And if you want to hold sales, don't first go and raise the original prices!
