"I took a Canon Digital Elph in to be repaired and was told I would get a repair estimate back in 2-3 weeks. After a month, I called and was told that no word had been received back yet. After six weeks, I called and was told that no word had been received back yet. After 3 months, I called and was told that the camera was there and had been there for three weeks but they had called the wrong number to let me know. The next day, I went in the store to pick up my camera and not only was it NOT repaired but the store manager could not explain why or even decipher what the accompanying note from Cannon even meant. After waiting three months, NOTHING had happened. "Brian" offered to send it in again and see what happened. I will NEVER go back to this store. Unless you're buying expensive equipment, they could care less."

"I would recommend never going to Penn Camera.

I dropped off 4 disposable cameras. I asked for doubles and them to be put on CD.

Usually for 4 rolls of 35mm film, this would cost me $40 or less for the doubles and CD.

Today I picked up the developed prints and was charged $90. $90! It was an incredible ripp-off.

Furthermore, the employees were not nice. I also had to wait for a guy in the back to come out and wait on me because the two employees were upfront gossiping on the phones.

Completely awful experience, complimented by outrageous prices.

Why did I originally drive to this store? I am a professional photographer and just moved to a new city/state. I just found this local shop down the street from me and figured I'd give it a try with some disposable cameras from vacation. Penn Camera offers a variety of products and services for color and black and white, so if they did well with basic film, I'd start using them for my local supply store.
However, based on the outrageous prices and poor service I received, I will never return."

"I generally buy from Penn because they are local and have a decent selection. Ocassionally they have competitive pricing. In this instance I purchased a Tamron lens that was priced similar to B&H and others. However, most of their Nikon and Canon equipment is priced at the high range, and they generally don't even acknowledfe your email if you ask them to price match B&H. So generally I don't buy Nikon from them; if they won't price competitively in this economy, they will not earn my business."
