"I was knowingly charged $1 for each search that I conducted on their website. But then about 10 days later I find a charge of $18.95 on my account. A charge that I didn't know would occur. The worst part about it, is the information that I received turned out to be incorrect. I contacted the company and they flashed a website with the terms. I was able to cancel the membership after $24 later. This website is a waste of time and money.

"PhoneAgentSource.com ("PhoneAgent") not recommended. It looks like from their webpage that you are purchasing a one-time record lookup for $1. What they don't tell you (in plain sight) is that you are automatically enrolled into a 7 day trial followed by an $18.95/month plan. The only way I found this out was by being cautious and inquisitive and looking at their tiny Terms link buried at the bottom of the page. Here is where it finally states the 'trial' and $18.95/month fee
Yes they tell in their link at the very bottom of the page about the trial and monthly fee, but they were not CLEAR and UPFRONT on the webpage about the fact you were going to be billed a monthly fee when you purchased that $1 report. (At least sites like freecreditscore.com tell you plainly it's a trial).
Worse, when I discovered it was a trial, I went to their online site chat with an operator to cancel, who told me in 48 hours to log back into the website and do what the 'red box' at the top of the page said. 2 days later I logged in and no red box. This was now the last day of the trial. So I chatted with another online operator. She said they had no record of me canceling! Great. So she gave me the 2 day sch-peel again. Since that would have put me past the trial period, I told her that if any charge came up on my credit card, I would contest it. Well whaddya know, she said hold on and then she said she was canceling my account immediately!
Now why didn't they do that in the first place? They obviously can do it. (I have my suspicions as to why they do it tho.)
In the end, they make it appear as you are purchasing a one-time product, but they are really going to charge you $18.95/month. And, then they make you jump through hoops to cancel the trial, when in fact they can cancel it immediately when you talk to them.
I think their business practices are not upfront and clear about what you are getting into, and unreliable (remember that my first call to cancel they had no record of?). Big thumbs down for phoneagentsource.com in my book."
