"Customer service is horrible ! I purchased a 1600 dollar car sterio and it went bad just a little over the warranty. They recommended to send it to united radio to have it repaired and they quoted me 700 which is half the cost of a new unit. Months later united contacts me and tells me they can't get the part from pioneer to do the repair. So I call back pioneer and they act completely dumb founded and tell me they will get back to me and never do. I call back 2 days later and they tell me that basically up sh_ts creek without a paddle. I will never buy their garbage again ! There products are not serviceable and they don't stand behind what they sell. They could have sucked up sending me a new unit to keep a good customer and a repeated consumer happy but they rather just screw you over!"
"They have no idea what the words customer service mean. Their idea of customer service is to refer you to one of their service groups instead of trying to help you diagnose the issue that may be something simple. Instead they would rather blow you off and cost you more money than the equipment is worth. That is why i do not buy anything from pioneer. They are the worst of the worst."
"Pioneer purchased had defective chips installed on some of their receivers motherboards. Mine included. While that was not their fault. They only supported covering the cosy of fixing for a very limited time and didn't inform the owners who purchased a receiver with the defective chips. You had to rely on your receiver failing within that narrow window and contact Pioneer on your own for that receive. Mine however failed just a little outside of their support window because my receiver was in storage while I was in the process of moving. So none the less Pioneer wouldn't cover the costs to fix the defective part'which was quite expensive. The problem I have is what good is registering your product with Pioneer? If an automobile has a defective part they enact a recall and contact the owner regarding, which could have been done for anyone who registered their product, which I did when I purchased. This was a very expensive receiver and now it is junk unless I want to dump another $1200 for a shop to fix it, which is totally unacceptable. I was a loyal customer before and have multiple other Pioneer products. They prefer to lose a loyal customer than to stand by their product which is sad. Basically, I looks like I bought a $2500 paper weight. Thanks for nothing Pioneer. Your customer support and appreciation ****!"
"In spring of 2015 I purchased my first pioneer product and couldn't have been happier with the sound and features of my AVH-X4700BS, but within a few months my Bluetooth quit working. I contacted pioneer and they sent me a shipping label to have it repaired. Eight weeks later I received my stereo and it had the same problem.
Pioneer sends me another label to return for repair. The Bluetooth module or something of that nature was bad and replaced. I installed the unit and still had problems so Pioneer authorized a replacement. I was hesitant about removing the radio for the third time because I just went months without a radio. Not sure why, but the Bluetooth started pairing with my phone (perhaps a cold solder joint in the repair).
Therefore, foolishly I chose to continue using the radio. About a year later the problem pops up again so I just ignore it and use the chord with USB.
Now the radio only wants to play through Pandora therefore I can't listen to my own music on my iPhone. All I have now is a $400+ radio because I don't have any CD's to listen to. I contacted pioneer to see if their offer to replace the radio still stands and of course since it's out of warranty they say no even though it was a problem under warranty. The manager over the warranty department didn't even seem to care if I ever bought another pioneer product in the future. I even told him I would share my experience with others and he was aware of the repercussions to the company from sharing my experience with others. Despite my terrible experience he would do nothing to help me out even though he had the authority to do so. Electronics are very inexpensive to produce, and likely a replacement from pioneer wouldn't have cost them more than $100.00. I'm not impressed by the products or service of pioneer. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine. Sorry, but I had to speak my mind. "
"I went to PioneerElectronics.com to order a replacement harness for my car stereo unit, and while the price was reasonable, when I went to check out they wanted $10.81 for their cheapest shipping method, AND a $2.95 handling fee! On a $12 part that weighs a pound or less! To add insult to injury, my order has been placed "on hold", presumably because my shipping address is different from my billing address (hopefully not for something more obscure), even though I've used this combination of shipping/billing address hundreds of times elsewhere with no problem.
I would've gotten it elsewhere if anywhere else HAD it, but my options were either aftermarket harnesses that got inconsistent reviews (with the negatives talking about the connections cutting out or the plug not fitting snugly, neither of which I'm willing to deal with), or get bent over by the OEM.
On the bright side, the cost of the harness itself was reasonable, I was expecting between $10-15, and if it doesn't fit well I can (hopefully) get a replacement without too much hassle because the OEM should know how to make the harness correctly, right? We'll see how that plays out, hopefully it will just fit the first time and I'll be done with Pioneer."
