"I ordered a barebones system on July 1st. Since July 10th, I have called Portatech's number which gives a message that their mailbox is full; sent an e-mail to the customer service contact listed on their site; submitted a contact form on their site; called the number on their related site SMK Superstore twice (left voicemails) and sent a DM on Facebook. I received no response from any of those methods. Since I paid using Paypal, I then submitted a complaint through them. They too received no response as well and have refunded my money. This company has related businesses (PortaTech, PC Boost LLC, SMK Superstore and 1st Choice Memory) although there are probably more. There is no judgement here. This is just recounting what I experienced with them."
"The pre built pc I oredered hasn't arrived and I ordered it July 6th and it's now July 21st. I have typed my number and zipcode for the tracking of my package and it directs me to call customer service and that my order has been place on hold. I have called customer service times and the mailbox is always full. I was going to call and get a GPU on it since I ordered without a GPU and I haven't got in touch with customer service to get that put on even though the computer on it has a built in GPU. My number for tracking is 223798."
"Ordered a computer on July 5. Almost 2 weeks later no update on delivery / tracking number or actual status other than a general delivery window that has indicated the same thing for over a week. Computer should have arrived by now - or at least a tracking number and indication it was delayed. All emails go unanswered, phone indicates voicemail is full every day. Just like several others that have posted some reviews / comments. Filed a claim with my credit card company. No way to cancel an order other than sending an email or a web form entry since no one answers the phone (or emails, or webform inquiries). So there is no way to actually cancel an order and get a refund I am guessing other than letting the credit card company handle it. Am hoping it is some oversight but with several days of no response and no way to call it doesn't look promising. If so will update my comment."

The transaction was flagged and declined by my bank. PortaTech just emailed me to clear it up and continued on their way after I verified the transaction. The services are always exactly as advertised and you always get exactly what you pay for."

Thinking they were running low I ordered it from the cart. When it arrived I got just a box of parts with no case at all. I called them up and they explained that their "parts" web page and "computers" web page looks very similar and I had gone to the wrong one. They offered to take everything back immediately "

They assembled the system I requested with a quick turn around and the system operated superbly and was configured as expected. "Well firstly it was late.. not a good start. Bigger problem though, It might look like their barebones systems have many choices, but they offer options that are incompatible. I chose a case / mobo combination that didn't work - but instead of calling me and discussing it they just switched out to a case that doesn't work for me. They sent me out another alternative case, that I also don't like that so looks like I'll end up buying ANOTHER one.. and then of course becoming a PC builder and the whole point was to avoid that. Arrived with one of the two front USB ports not working. Support was prompt but didn't offer me any option that satisfied me."

So much for 'testing' and 'burning in'.
When I contacted them through email they told me to call.
When I called at 3:00 PM Pacific Daylight time, their 'tech support' was closed.
At this point I'm done with PortaTech and am about to call my credit union and put the credit card charges in dispute.

"Ordering online was easy. A couple weeks later I received my package. Everything I purchased was there so were all the books and any information. I plugged it in right away and was satisfied . The only thing I would have asked to be better was the tracking info a bit sooner or something on the sight that showed it in process of being built.
