"Have used priceline many times. Always pleased. Just returned from a weekend trip & saved $38/night on the room, even more than that ($44) compared to the hotel website's rate. Plan to come back again and again."
"DO NOT USE THIS SITE for YOUR TICKET !!!!
This is basically is irresponsible.
I purchase the ticket on their website. Few days before my departure, they sent me an email saying that my flight has been modified. They moved my return day one day ahead but will arrive two days later than original flight.
Since I have all my trip planned and I was going for another connection once I returned. Therefore, I cannot take such flight. I called their customer rep. At beginning, it since that they are willing to help. However, things didn't work out and they are not willing to provide additional help.
After 5 times of calling from international location and spent more than 200 CHF on the phone as they put you on hold for so long. I told them nicely that I would like to have issues solved as soon as possible. All they said to me is that '' You have to call airline by yourself''.
I called airline and airline told me that priceline is the booking agent and they have to take care the issue for me. I have to call back to priceline my 6th time and they are unwilling to provide help.
The most unacceptable thing is that there was an agent called ''Ron'' or something. I was complaining to him and he puts the phone ASIDE. Then, after few hello? and then he picks up the phone again telling me that I have to call the airline by myself.
I explain to him that airline company told me exactly the same thing. He said that he could not help. Therefore, he put me on hold for another 30 mins. As a result, I request to speak with his supervisor. I was on hold again for 40 mins before I reach the supervisor.
Until the issue solved, I spend more than 200 CHF calling them and being treated like I am a trouble rather than customer. I have to demand the supervisor to call the airline company to solve the issue. Besides the unwillingness from their side, there were too much pressure and time not well spent.
Now, the problem comes again, their website did not update my new schedule for few days. Once the schedule is updated, the problem is still there. In another word, the previous time and money were spent for nothing. Issue is back to square one again.
I contact there online support, all they said was either you call us again or call airline company. I will have to call airline again this time. But since priceline cannot help you, I would strongly recommend everyone who want to use this site should have second thought.
If things work out for you, that is great. However, if your schedule been modified and want to contact them for the help. I believe there will only be additional money and time cost for you while their customer rep treat you like you are nothing. "
"I recently purchased a ticket on Hawaiian Airlines through Priceline. I even got the insurance that was offered, what a joke... I had surgery and was unable to go on this vacation. I called Priceline to cancel this flight and rental car and they totally blew me off. The told me I had to go through Hawaiian Air to get a refund . Hawaiian Air said there isn't a refund for flights even with insurance. So why did Priceline offer it ???? They made me jump through all sorts of hoops and spend hours trying to produce the paper work they requested. I was then told to go back to Priceline with a code for a refund and as you can guess they can't ... Please price shop and be careful, I travel a lot and will strongly recommend do not use Priceline !!! if I could rate this expierence with a - star I would"
"I had the worst experience with priceline last week. I had a job to do in New York, so I was debating between getting car service, or getting a car rental. Finally we found a 100 dollar rental for 2 days through priceline. My plane was late, then they put me on a different flight, finally at 12.30 in the morning I am at budget rental and they are trying to charge me 300 dollars instead of 100. I spent an hour on the phone with priceline, they try to give me bogus excuses, of why that could of happen, they didn't do anything to accommodate me, finally at 1:30 in the morning they said "Have a good night!" I will never use them again! And if you don't want a chance to end up stranded in a not so familiar location in the middle of the night without a car, or a hotel, don't use their flaky services neither!"
"PRICELINE -BE AWARE!! Tried to book a hotel, after I've selected all my preferences like free internet, breakfast, parking... I decided to give a shot to the "smart agent"... Surprisingly (or maybe not...) I got a hotel that had some of the worst review and one of the lowest rank in the area I've selected... PLUS all my preferences weren't taken in account!!! So you may save few bucks on the initial price... BUT you're going to pay a lot of money for all the extra (like parking, internet...) but WORST OF ALL once you get your lousy deal there's noting you can do about it!!! it's un changeable and un refundable!!!
I will recommend to stay away from Priceline!! I know I will!!
It's very hard to find how to give a review... I wonder why that is... And when you do... Everybody had the same bad experience!!!
Don't be fool by the nice faces they have on..!! "
"The worst customer service in the industry, bar none! They offer a 20% discount to keep the reservation and renege 2 1/2 weeks later. Steer clear of these shysters!"
"Horrible customer service. Tried to purchase the trip insurance with my flight and I wasn't able to. So, when I called priceline's customer service and explained to them that i needed to change my flight date, Isabella id#5260251 proceeded to lie to me and say that the Trip insurance would not cover the fact that my job was in jeopardy, EVEN THOUGH on the trip insurance information it CLEARLY SAYS that job loss is covered and it is a reason to change your flight dates and so on. I am extremely dissatisfied with Priceline and their level of customer service. They falsely advertise and represent themselves and what they are able/willing to do. I strongly suggest that you pay the extra 20 dollars or so and purchase the tickets straight from the airline and rental car companies themselves. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE"
"The worst customer service I have encountered in USA. The customer service supervisor didn't want to help at all and said" Goodbye" and hang up the phone before I got a chance to reply to her!!"
"Booked a hotel stay for one night in New Orleans two rooms reasonable rate for the French Quarter. There was a box in red on the top right of the hotel info. that stated they only had three rooms left. I booked as fast as possible because we were staying there the next day. After booking I read reviews of the hotel and the complaints of the hidden fees such as the 40.00/night for parking in the hotel's parking garage and a 9.95/room fee for phone service even if we don't use the phone. I called Priceline immediately and tried to cancel and was told I would have to go through the hotel. Called the hotel & was told to call back in the morning when a manager would be working. Called in the a.m. & manager said I would have to go through PL to cancel. Called PL and was told I would still be charged 145.79 for BOTH rooms because I did not cancel by 3/4. I booked the rooms on the night of 3/6 needing to stay on 3/7. What crock of SH** are they dishing out to customers?? Asked to speak to a manager at PL and was given to a customer DIService rep and she read a script repeatedly, talked over me, cut me off, and would not negotiate at all telling me we would be charged in full for the first night 311.58 (we were only staying one night!) and that I already knew all of these details when I agreed to the reservation. I told her that I was previously told it would only be 145.79 for both rooms and she said that it was 145.79 per room even if I was quoted wrong with the first rep. Asked to speak to a manager and she said they do not have managers. Now we have to stay and pay 311.58 plus the extra fees of 80.00 to park and 19.95 to NOT use the phone. I would give negative stars if possible. Priceline SUCKS!!"
"Worst company ever, If I could give it Zero stars I would! I booked an express deal that was non refundable and they wouldn't reveal the name of the hotel but they gave examples of hotels that are similar in standards. Ya such lies they put. When I found out the name of the hotel I was floored because it is NOT up to par with the hotels they listed. They listed hotels like Holiday in Express and Marriot's Fairfield and what I go was a hotel I have never even heard of, Caliente Tropics Hotel to be specific.
I decided to find out more about the hotel and give it a chance so I looked it up online, ya it is comparable to motel 6 NOT the ones they listed. PLUS I am traveling with a baby which I specified and it turns out this hotel charges an extra $20 a night for a crib! WTH! This is the only hotel I have ever heard of that charges for a crib, not even Motel 6 charges for one! Priceline tried to say that the hotel charges are my itenerary is what those charges are for...ummm no they are NOT, they are resort fees because it's palm springs and they all charge that!
I decided to call Priceline to see if they would make up the difference since this was not at all what they described, but nope they wouldn't refund 1 cent and stuck by their decision saying this hotel was very nice and their customers say so, ya that's not what the reviews I looked up say. So now thanks to Priceline I am paying the same amount of money to stay at a motel 6 grade motel that I could have paid to stay at a place like Marriots Ressidence Inn. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON PRICELINE!
And to top it all off the person I talked to hung up on me....Horrible customer service. This was the first and LAST time I used Priceline. From now on I will deal directly with the hotels, at least then I know ALL the charges I am paying for before I make the commitement. SCAM SCAM SCAM!"
"I reserved a car to pick up while traveling with my 85 year old mother. Instead, she was taken to the emergency room and admitted to the hospital and treated for life-threatening blood clots in her legs and lungs. Needless to say, attempting to cancel my reservation was not at the top of my list of things to do. When I contacted Priceline afterwards, they told me it was just tough, I should have read the conditions when I made the reservation so it was absolutely nonrefundable. Even the airline canceled our reservations without penalty and gave us a credit for future travel. Not Priceline, they are simply inhumane, rude, uncaring, greedy corporate lowlifes. I sincerely hope that one of its employees suffers the death of a family member and is told too bad, pay us anyway, no refunds or credits. Clearly they do not care about repeat business or word of mouth, just stick it to anyone stupid enough to use them."
"I decided to give priceline a shot after using hotwire for my rentals. I tried bidding on a car priced at 39$ a day. After putting in bids from 25$ they replied saying it was denied and that I should bid 30$. After exhausting as many prices as I could and being denied I finally put in 30$ and of course it was accepted. Now they take your money once the bid is taken and there are no refunds. Two days later I see the same car for rent on hotwire for 23.95$, WAY CHEAPER! I asked them for a price adjustment which they did. A few days later the price dropped on hotwire again to 21.95$. I asked priceline for another adjustment and was denied. I will no longer be going through priceline.com. They over charge you and you can usually get the same rental from hotwire for 10$ cheaper, WITHOUT HAVING TO BID. Priceline fails as a company. Hotwire is they way to go, never had any issues with them"
"This was the first and last time I will use Priceline for ANY of my travel needs! I booked a rental car for a ten day road trip through Priceline. When I arrived at the location to pick up the car I was told that I didn't have unlimited mileage (even though my confirmation said I did and also said to click on the other conditions for EZ rental car which didn't indicate ANYTHING about mileage or limitations to area). I was then told I couldn't even take the car because I was going to Arizona with it from Seattle!!! EZ rental staff told me they are a third party and there is nothing they that I should contact Priceline. I called Priceline on the spot and was told my only option was to cancel my reservation. The representative said there was a "glitch" in the website and that is why I didn't get the correct notice stating the mileage and location for the car had limitations! He did say there was someone working on the problem "as we speak" WOW...what a comfort! I ended up going to National and renting a car at double the price since it was last minute and I needed an SUV. In the future I will stick with National and book directly. The website for Priceline is inaccurate and misleading and there is a complete lack of customer service. I will never use them again and would not recommend anyone else to do so either. What an incredibly stressful way to start a vacation!!!"
"I booked a hotel room through priceline.com recently. I've used them before and not had any problems. However, this time my reservation was handled by a third party company called agoda.com. When I arrived at the hotel, I had no reservation and the confirmation number was invalid. I've disputed the charge with my credit card company and I assume I won't have to pay. The bottom line is that you need to follow up and confirm reservations yourself. (As an aside, "pet friendly" may just really mean "dog friendly." If you are travelling with cats, double check before you book.)"
"I had a very bad experience with Priceline.com and I am not going to use this website again.
I was travelling to Europe for three weeks and I rented a car through Priceline.com from the Berlin airport about 3 months in advance. At the time I made my purchase, their price was about 2 Dollars per day cheaper than other website and I would save almost 50 Dollars by booking with them and so I went ahead and did so. When I went to pick up my car, I was told by the car rental company that the car I booked (economy) is not available and I was instead offered a similar car (compact) at 20 dollars per day more expensive. This now meant that I had to pay more than 400 Dollars extra.
I called Priceline and explained what was going on and I was told that they were not responsible for guaranteeing the availability of the vehicles and when I asked them why do they ask for my credit card information to confirm my reservation, the customer service agent told me that he can proceed and cancel my reservation without charging may card!!
Long story short, I not only had a very bad start of my trip, but also ended up paying 380 Dollars more than what I would have normally paid had I used a different website to arrange my car rental.
All I can say is that Priceline.com is not conducting business honestly. What is the point of quoting a price to the customer and then confirming his reservation after getting his credit card details when you simply won't accept any responsibility and won't guarantee the reservation. How is that even reservation. To me it sounds more like a trap. They simply quote you a cheap price and if you are lucky and get it, they earn their commission and if you don't get it, you are the one who is screwed and Priceline will not accept any responsibility.... and who knows, maybe they still get paid..
I would say stay away..."
