"This company does not do any customer support. If you call, you only get to voice mail and they never call back. If you send emails, you only receive automated responses. I just want return an item I ordered from them, but apparently they only interested in selling you stuff. The worst online ordering experience I had so far. "
"Sent my Room a 500 in to be repaired. It was still working but doing a circle dance. They charge $50 to look at unit. I then received a bill for $420 worth of repairs. I suppose if I pay to have MY unit shipped back I expect they will have removed all the good working parts and return junk to me. I read robot reviews too late, others reporting similar experience. So this is what I expect from them now. For me this is a lesson to Google reveiws on every business. I hope someone puts them out of business. Don't expect any communication from this company except to ask a ridiculous price to repair a Roomba. Which they probably resell online somewhere else."
"I also have nothing good to say about this company. I payed far too much for internal parts for my sage. When I tried to use them I found out that they did NOT match the original parts, and when modified to fit, they quickly failed. Attempted correspondence received a form letter basically saying that they do not respond to email. Be prepared to be disappointed."
"Protech Robotics is not a company who can help to repair your unit. They just try to cheat your money from your pocket. I do have a same experience. I sent my unit to them with $49.95 repair fee. Couple of months later, I was told to pay $220 for the repair. I sent them the money and wait for a month and the got my unit back with the same problem. I don't think them repair it but just change out my new battery. I can't talk to a real person and just got a email from Brian to ask me to send it back to them for another repair. He said that I can get the UPS shipping cost reimbursed. I did sent it back to him and got my unit back after few weeks. I keep asking about my shipping charges, after few weeks, he only paid my $15.15 but the receipt I sent to them is $30.80. I can't communicate with him any more.
The total of this repair is $35 for the first time shipping, $49.95 for the diagnostic. $230 for the repair and $30.80 for the second shippment. The total is over $350 and the unit is only cost $299 in Cosco.
I am not recommand anyone to use the company to do repair of any iRobot product.

"I just WISH I had googled this company before sending my Scooba in for analysis/repair. I paid $59.95 up front, the got back to me saying it would cost $400 to repair (this was after TWO months of waiting!)
I told them I don't want to, so they said they would send the broken unit back for an additional fee. I said they could just trash the unit, but please send the charger back. They said they would send that back for free. When it arrived, it was just the cable -- no charging cradle that I had sent in. When I emailed them, they said the cable is the charger, the cradle is "a different part." Now they wanted about $25 to ship that back to me.
I ended up buying a BRAND NEW Scooba from Roomba for $199! (Call iRobot and ask for the barebones Scooba -- it doesnt come with accessories (battery/charger etc) but is MUCh cheaper than way, if you already have the other items.
I can't believe this company has an A- BBB rating -- shows you the BBB is a thing of the past. It should have an F rating. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY unless you are prepared to lose your money!"
"My story is very similar to everyone else who has had the unfortunate opportunity to deal with ProTech Robotics. They take forever, and the humans who work there are a little too used to talking to robots, thus interacting with other humans is often difficult and overwhelming. I've never had such a 'bottom-of-the-barrel' poor experience from a company. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!"
"Expect slow response and you will buy a new battery if they do a repair so they can test the unit. They'll send you a diagnosis report of failed tests but they don't send you a post repair diagnosis report. Very competent repairs on my one Roomba 4 year old scheduler but I'd have to think about using them again. I paid ~$400 for shipping, diagnostic and repair on a unit I could have replaced with new for $250. Consider starting over before you ask these guys to overhaul what you've got."
"BUYER BEWARE when dealing with Protech Robotics! I agree with all negative comments listed on this blog! On Feb. 28th, Protech Robotic received my Roomba 4225 that I sent in for diagnosis and repair. I sent an email on Mar. 7 requesting an update, as I had heard nothing. I received an email on Mar. 8 (7 business days) saying the unit had been "logged in". On Mar. 20 (8 business days) I sent another email and received a return saying the unit had begun evaluation. After another 11 business days, on April 4 I filed the claim with Paypal. On April 5 I received an email saying the evaluation was completed and due to be sent to me that afternoon. However, at this point they could do nothing without the claim being dismissed either by me or PayPal. Of course, once you dismiss a claim, it can’t be refilled! On April 6 I requested the unit be returned and was told that was not a problem; however, the claim would still need to end before they could do anything. Unfortunately, due to my filing a claim I would need to pay the return shipping by certified bank draft or money order (Paypal isn't good enough?). The return shipping would be $28.15 (it cost me $21.16) Really? I felt like I was being blackmailed in order to get my property returned. I paid $49.95 for the eval, but I had no right to see it? In addition, all emails I received seem to be a response to mine. Coincidence? Paypal investigated but evidently felt I was on the wrong side. I’ve since decided this is a lost cause. The roomba was dead, as was the battery I sent with the unit. I’m out $75, but I’ve learned a valuable lesson even at 60+ years. “Stars” on a website don’t necessary mean anything, especially if there are only 24! If I had checked further, I would have found the truth. Hint! Shop eBay for a replacement robot! Lots of good deals and much cheaper than Protech Robotics. I picked up two new robots for $160!"
"I'm smiling as I can see that I'm in the good company of honest people that know a Swindling Internet Roomba Repair when they see it...My experience is the same; $50 to get an estimate plus $18 to ship it. The estimate came back would total almost $500... when I can buy a new one like I shipped in for $330. . .ridiculous charge!
Then, get this. . .They collect another $40 to return your old vacuum to you including the cost of a new box for it at $10. . .even if the old one got it there just fine. Green. . .sure you bet! Then, if you pay them to have it returned using PayPal, they get a little angry that you aren't going to leave your vacuum with them and credit you back your PayPal payment and tell you that they need a money order instead. . .it becomes a cash business all of a sudden. . .
I suspect that, because of their bad reputation, they are going to have to bail soon, so don't get trapped with being their last customer. This is the type of people that disappear and reinvent themselves again under a new name with a new scam. . ."
"Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! The repair estimate is as much or more than the value. No big suprise but they tried to charge $1.50 per day storage after I paid for return shipping. Consumer beware and they do not participate in Reseller Ratings, big suprise.
"
"This "company" is the biggest bunch of scam artists I've ever seen. They are extremely rude, make you agree to a ton of restrictions (basically kidnap your vacuum and force you to repair it), and charge you a MINIMUM of $100 labor for any evaluation/repair ($50 just to send it in + minimum of $50 labor for the repair). They claim everybody's battery is completely dead even if it was working fine before you send it in. You can't refuse their overpriced replacement battery or you have to agree to even more restrictions like no warranty and paying $25-$40 for return shipping. Trust me, with factory reconditioned roombas going for a little over $200 on most sites (some with a 3 year warranty), you are MUCH better off just buying one of those. Your repair will EASILY cost more. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST!!!!
