"Placed order for 4 dice box sets on the 11th of November 2016.
They processed the order on the 14th which wasn't a big deal since I opted for faster shipping and had placed the order fairly late in the day. The problem came from them not shipping the order is my guess.
I have not been able to reach their shop via the phone for several days, no reply to e-mails, and the list of people with similar problems with them, thus this review on 23rd Nov 2016. Currently, to get my money back, I am in the process of filing a dispute through my credit card company.
Do not buy from RPG Shop it is not worth the time and hastle."
"I read the reviews here *after* placing an order with RPG Shop and honestly expected trouble. I ordered a variety of items, both specialty and off the clearance page.
I am happy to report that my order arrived in an extremely timely manner and everything was there. The site is a little clunky, which is worrisome, and when I tried to check my order status I got 404 errors, but in the end I received my order fast and accurately.
Despite the technical shortcomings of the site, I will probably buy from these guys again, especially since they accept Paypal. I hope the next time goes just as smoothly, for now they get 5 stars from me."
"Over the last few years I've placed a few orders with them. Here's what has always happened:
On the plus:
When I send them a message I get a reply within 24 hours. The reply is usually very cordial and answers my questions reasonably well. I believe the customer service people at this company care, they have always been very nice when I've communicated with them. They have my thanks for their kindness and hospitality through the years. They are not the problem; they are the only reason I've ordered from this retailer for so long.
On the down:
They collect your phone number, email, etc. but never bother to contact you if they can't fill your order. They ship you a partial order, charge the same amount for shipping, and then refund you for the items they didn't ship you when they get around to it. This didn't happen to me once or twice, but every single time I order from them. Years back it was one or two items, seems to be getting worse now. My last order I got about half of what I actually ordered. Even the friendly customer service person who replied to my frantic inquiry about my order could only tell me they were "only 90% sure of what shipped". 90% sure? Are you serious? So I may get what I was billed for, I may not, who the hell knows? This is some cracker jack BS here. That's just really bad management. Every time I've been shipped a partial order I've asked why they do that, why don't they call me or email me and say something first, and every single time the person I talked to said they wished that was how they did things but management makes them do it this way.
So ultimately I end up having to order from another online retailer to fill all the items they said they had but didn't and didn't bother telling me about until after I inquired and after the (partially filled) order shipped. So I end up paying the shipping cost twice. I keep trying to give rpgshop.com business as I try to support vendors who at least have some hand in brick and mortar stores, but I just can't deal with this any more. It's costing me too much time and money to force success upon them and I just won't do it any more.
Maybe their brick store is good, but their online store has hit a real low point. I used to order from them as I felt I could trust them but that was obviously bad judgement on my part. There's plenty of good people working there who want to give good service, too bad management doesn't want to pay the labor cost of that happening.
I WOULD GLADLY PAY MORE FOR AWESOME SERVICE. IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON GAMES, YOU CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR GOOD SERVICE. SERVICE > COST. UP YOUR PRICES 10-20% AND JUST DO IT RIGHT. YOU COST ME MORE THAN 10-20% NOW BECAUSE OF YOUR POOR MANAGEMENT."
"I was looking for some high precision dice (the ones made by Gamescience), and it turned out these guys had the best price. Low shipping too. I ordered almost immediately.
After registering for their site (it's powered by magentocommerce.com) I got your standard "thanks for registering" email. The only problem is it gave me, for contact information (this is verbatim) "****@****" and the phone number ***-***-****. Needless to say, I was worried.
Then I came here and saw that they had two negative reviews. I was practically waiting for my order go wrong.
Then my dice arrived 2 days before I expected them, along with a bit of free merch. The container was perfect, and the dice were the exact brand and colors I had been looking for.
I'll definitely be buying from these guys again. They far exceeded my expectaions (especially after reading the two reviews here) in terms of delivering the best price on a semi-rare item and shipping it quickly."
"I placed an order with this company for an item which turned out to be out of stock, and they cancelled my order. Hey, it happens.
It was rather annoying that I never received any notification of that, and only discovered it a week later by checking my order status on their website. But that would pale compared to the hassle involved in getting my money back from this outfit.
After several more days passed with no refund, I sent two emails. I never received anything more than the autoresponse acknowledgement. Finally, I called their long-distance in-store number, and was told by the apologetic person on the other end that they would refund my money the next morning. That didn't happen either. Finally, I posted a query/complaint on their own forums, where I noticed several other people in the same boat as me. No response to any of us.
At this point, well over two weeks had elapsed since my initial order, and I'd have enough with this screwing around. I filed a dispute with Paypal, and several days after THAT I received a notice that my money had been refunded, with no further explanation or apology. All told, it was nearly three weeks from the time my order was apparently cancelled till the time these clowns finally refunded my money. And we're talking "
"Not all of the purchase process was encrypted. They double-charged my credit card, never provided an invoice, and never shipped my item. The emails I sent over a period of 5 weeks went unanswered by humans, instead being auto-replied to by a script. They have no phone number listed on their website, or I would have called it.
Finally, I had to call my credit card company and have the charges removed. They have _zero_ customer service and poor infrastructure."
