"Horrible first AND last experience with this seller. I placed my order for an item that was represented to be in stock at an excellent price. I paid for it and was expecting a shipping confirmation. But the very next day I see an email notifying me the order was canceled and a refund issued with NO explanation. What kind of place is this? Recommend people stay clear of these guys."

"Rakuten is a marketplace for re-sellers. The item I purchased on the Rakuten website was fulfilled by Electronics Palace. The Item did not work. Electronics Palace would not refund the cost to return the product. But Rakuten came through in the end and issued me a gift card for the price of return shipping. make sure you check out the Marketplace seller before ordering. change my review to 4 stars."

" I placed order on Sat. April 12, 2014 for Dell Optiplex780 Windows 7 with keyboard, mouse and monitor. As an incentive the ad included a discount of $30 off price of $279.99 if I was accepted for a Rakuten credit card. I applied and used the card but was still charged $279.99. Worse I had no credit card number to trace with the card merchant First Bankcard.
On Tues April 15 the seller Front Source Tech claimed by email it shipped via FEDEX & gave me a tracking number. Wed I went to Fedex website and called customer service to trace & no package was in the Fedex system. I emailed Front Source with the email address provided from Rakuten on Wed 4/16 & emailed Rakuten Fri 4/18. There is NO telephone number to call Rakuten on Website. I emailed again Front Source Tues 4/22. left 2 telephone messages. I emailed Rakuten again 4/23 & was issued Incident No. asking 72 hrs to trace. I finally got my Credit Card which had Rakuten telephone number in billing line then called Rakuten which I finally talked to Customer Service Rep on Mon April 28. She needed another 24 hrs to trace. On Wed. 4/30 I called again & she will get back to me within 24 hrs. & finally discovered the computer never was picked up from First Source on April 15. It finally shipped April 30 from NJ. I finally received computer Mon 5/5. Unfortunately the monitor did not stay on the stand & I called Front Source but this time it was replaced in a timely matter.
As I went along this process I realized the seller (Front Source) email address and Rakuten website were different than the Front Source Tech website, which may be why I received no answer from the seller.
The biggest problem was NO telephone number for Rakuten to contact.
I still did not get the $30 off with approval for Rakuten credit card and frankly it is not worth the effort with my frustration in the past month.
A friend says I have the patience of a saint.

"ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ORDER ANTHING FROM RAKUTEN AND GOLF OUTLETS OF AMERICA (Which is connected to Rakuten) .

I had ordered a Power Walker with this website(first mistake). After using it for couple of days, the speed stated to get slow even if it's on high speed. The Highest speed was 6km. I called the Rakuten (I was on hold for more than 20 minutes). I had a talk with Genesis Pena (So rude lady), I explained everything to her. so she sent me RAM Number for returning my product. what this means that i will have to pay the shipping cost!! If i do pay shipping cost then it will be over $70 for sure(because of the weight), But My point was that, why should i pay the shipping cost if you gave me the bad Product? Simple, I paid whole amount of money for this product, so I expect this product to work fine. This shouldn't be happening after 15 days of using it!!! What mad me mad was this Lady that i mention above, she sounded like my money grows on a trees. At first she didn't trusted me, but I trusted Rakuten for the product and money i gave (second Mistake). The walker finally stooped working after all. I lost my money and a walker!! I was going to call at that time because it wasn't been a month. but i was afraid that they will not refund me (saw one review about refund). but after few days i was lucky enough that my Neighbor took the walker for same prize and he used the parts for his company use. I like shopping online, but from now on i will never ever in my life use Rakuten, I should of had read the review online (3rd mistake). They should definitely shut there company, i didn't seen any review that was rated 5!!!! Shame on this company, and shame on Genesis Pena (she should be fired).

"I placed an order early on Fri, May 9. I did receive an automated acknowledgment. Kept checking throughout the day and over the weekend, and during the next Monday, for news on shipping/tracking. Finally on Mon. afternoon I received an email saying that my shipping address is unknown to my credit card company and I must make arrangements with the company then verify it back to them. What? My credit card company is very much aware of my home/shipping address where I have resided (and placed hundreds of mail orders) for the past twelve years. If this was an issue (which it is not, all info was entered correctly), why was I not notified for four days? I wrote back, with a clear explanation as well as with a couple of questions. All I got in response was that they had been very busy so they could not get back until four days later with a (bogus) question about my credit card. (Apparently my camcorder order was just one more botheration . . . ) I cancelled my order, and shall be keeping CAREFUL WATCH ON MY CREDIT CARD FOR BOGUS CHARGES for the next several months. Something is fishy here. BE WARNED: Do not order from this company."

"Shame on me: Waited too long to buy new product Sony PS4 ($400 value). Everyone was out of stock, except Rakuten.
Shame on me: My kid decided he wanted a different system, so I returned the item to Rakuten seller Planet Fun Toys via USPS. I lost the tracking number.

Shame on Planet Fun Toys: Price gouging during the holidays. Paid $650 for a $400 product.
Shame on Planet Fun Toys: As of 4/25/2014, I have not been refunded. That's 5 months!
Shame on Planet Fun Toys: Seller won't respond to my emails. I've sent 4 since January asking about my refund. No response.

Shame on Rakuten: I contacted Rakuten's "customer service" to hopefully get their help. They won't do anything unless I can provide a tracking number. They won't even ask the seller if they received the package!!! I've asked Rakuten repeatedly to ask the seller if they received the package, and I get no response.

Funny thing, Planet Fun Toys seller is actually Planet Fun Toys LLC based in Wildomar California, owned and operated by a single person named Jonathan Shinn. Simple web search shows that info. Planet Fun Toys is no longer a seller on Rakuten. Hmmm, wonder what happened. I guess I'm out $650. Thanks Rakuten and Jonathan Shinn!

"here is my thought about rakunen.com unprofessionalism.. they kept telling me my address is diffrent from my billing address but yet in still the took payment from my bank account countless of times so something weird was going on with them just when i thought i was getting my item they said item was on hold for verification problems with a mismatch in account information as compared to my billing address, when i finally matched them up it said i was o.k then five minutes later I'm rejected. when i contacted the bank they said it was that company rakuten.com not the there bank institution.i was buying laptop memory and got dupped no memory no sale no nothing a whole lot of hell sale.. wasted my time and effort ."

"I bought two pendant lights from this company. When they came they were not the color I expected. One box was opened and the other was not. The lights were never taken out of the box completely. I returned them in the original boxes with 3 days of receiving. I am being charged a 20% restocking fee and because the shipping was free they are taking that out of my credit as well. I am shipping them back on my own UPS dollar. What a rip off. I will never order from this company again. Bad, bad, bad. very bad!!!!!"

"I purchased 4 Coleman lanterns and was sent 4 lantern mantles instead. The order was filled by Wayfair. Wayfair said it was a mistake and will not send me the lanterns. The email confirmation has one order number, the package another one. Some kind of scam going on here. Both companies were no help. Do not order from either."

"I have used it first time. I have ordered for Swissgear maxxim laptop bag pack and I got swissgear MARs backpack that was of half the price. I have returned it , hope I get my money back.
Worst is Rakuten does not have any phone number to talk to. that's horrible....Other part is , Rakuten points can't be used with Paypal.......why? These are the thing that make me think Rakuten is worst place to do shopping..
