"In search of an item that is out of stock everywhere else, I discovered this website. They claim to have several hundred in stock, but then, after placing my order, I get an email saying that they are waiting to hear from the manufacturer. So apparently they are not actually stocking the items themselves, they are just drop shipping from the manufacturer.
Thing is, before ending up at their website, I had contacted the manufacturer myself to see when they'd have the item back in stock. They said "June" (I'm writing this in March). So I already know that the manufacturer doesn't have it in stock, why is recreationid reporting that they have 295 of them?
Worth noting that they are still as of this moment of me typing this, STILL showing that they have the item in stock.
Is this place a scam? Or just a poorly run virtual business (with overseas customer support)? I'm still waiting for them to get back to me on whether they magically found the item to ship to me.
This is my first order with this company, and maybe I'm just havnig bad luck. Given the current zombie apocalypse, I totally understand delays and such. But what I can't stand is them outright lying about having stock of something."
