"Placed an order on Sunday to get a remote control car delivered to my cousin in time for his birthday on Wednesday.
Paid extra for next day delivery and stipulated the delivery address of my cousin and invoice address of myself.
Tuesday arrives and I get a knock on the door from a neighbour who had kindly signed for a package for me... The package was the present for my cousin. Remote-Island had delivered it to the wrong address!
Contacted Remote-Island to explain the error and was told that because it was signed for, it had therefore been accepted and they were not at fault!
Eventually after several emails I was told that I had two options:
1) Return the item at my cost for a full refund less the next day delivery postage.
2) Return the item at my cost and they would forward it on to my cousin.
Either way I would have to pay additional postage, on top of the next day delivery I had already paid in order to correct a mistake Remote-Island made!
Quite frankly this is the most incompetent and useless company I have ever dealt with on the internet, their customer services are rude, threatening and extremely unhelpful!
Not once in all the communications with customer services did I get an apology for the error they made! The birthday present was late and my cousin was never compensated, on top of that I paid twice to get the item delivered to the actual contracted address.
I recommend that you do not waste your time or money with these people and go elsewhere.
Office of fair trading have been informed and progressing the issue internally.
Go elsewhere!! for your own sake."
