"Both the technician, Richard, and his supervisor assured me I was talking to Dell Computers when viruses invaded my new laptop and their number came up as Dell Support. After giving my credit card info, and noticing the name Repair Street and questioning it, I was told, and I quote, "Dell is a big company. We are the repair division".
But, when I continued to question that claim, and noticed they were loading free programs on my laptop versus what I was led to believe I was going to get, I was told that they would put the virus back on my machine if I didn't pay. Clearly this is not something Dell, or any reputable company would do - threaten a customer with viruses while they are remotely controlling someone's computer.
I immediately hung up, unplugged my computer, called my credit card company to dispute the charges put on my card, and then called Dell.
After I gave them a report of what happened, a technician removed the remaining "bugs", restored my machine, and I now have a number to report this to a higher level at Dell.
The blatant deceit of these individuals I was so unfortunate as to deal with, should not be tolerated by any self respecting company or management team that oversees them. "
