"I bought retro box and the console didn't work for under voltage. I sent back the console and they didn't give me back the money. Worst experience ever. Better to buy a retro console in shop."
"We use HP P1130 monitors at work, and I told myself that if Retrobox ever had some in stock, I'd buy one. They eventually had one black one for $75, so I went for it. They called me a few days later on a Friday, saying that they found a dent in the side during testing, and offered me a different monitor, or 10% off the one I ordered. I really wanted the black, so I took the discount, on the condition that performance wasn't affected. They shipped it out the following Monday, and it arrived on Wednesday. It came packaged in a LARGE cardboard box, packed in a kind of "self-forming" foam packs that I've not seen before. There was bubble wrap protecting the glass, and it came with a power cord and the video cable. It is obviously used (scuffs on case, dent that was noted) but works perfectly, and the screen is flawless. This is my first purchase from them, but for what it's worth, I would recommend them."
"Retrobox Rocks! I bought an uniterruptible power supply from them. As they said during the order process, they took a few days to get the item ready to ship. I received my item via FedEx in a pro packed box, and the item looks brand new despite the fact that it is a used item. Retrobox even included power cords for every outlet on the UPS. In an era where little extras like that are neglected or considered but deliberately left out to cut costs, it is a breath of fresh air to get service like this from Retrobox. Nowadays, you don't get power cords even if you buy a new UPS.
As my budget allows, I look forward to purchasing more gear from Retrobox."
"Beware of placing an order with them. I ordered a computer from them that was supposed to be $22.10. They placed an initial charge on my credit-card for that amount (plus the shipping and handling.) I then checked their website for the order status and they had the price as being $40.30+s/h (almost double the price for the computer.) When I called them about it, their response was "Mistakes happen and we have a disclaimer about that on the website." (And they do have "Our goal is perfection, however occasionally mistakes do occur. Therefore, errors in configuration or pricing will not be honored. Final pricing will be at the full and total discretion of RetroBox.com." on the site but in small, faint type.) If "mistakes" happen so much that they need a disclaimer, then they have too many mistakes. Any reputable company would eat the occasional mistake in pricing."
"I was looking for a good used computer to give as a Christmas present, and boy, did this place have my hookup! I got what I thought was a great deal (and I moderate an online computer parts trading forum) on a pIII/450 system. It took them a few days to pull it and inspect/pack/ship, but they warn about that time lag on the site and I have no complaints.
System was absolutely spotless, precisely as represented, and packed professionally. They even went to the trouble of partitioning and formatting the HD with command.com in the root.
I don't want to sound like a sales pitch, but if you want a used system, laptop, or network/server-side hardware, you owe it to yourself to give these people a look."
