It then earns a small fee in exchange, the report said. In the wake of the massive hack that impacted 145 million consumers, Equifax says it's found "technical anomalies" that occurred within its systems in March, but Equifax disputed any wrongdoing. Consumers continue to complain about a problem that Equifax claims to have corrected. "After an hour on the phone and wasting my morning and afternoon, the rep asked me if I wanted to simply sign up for free credit monitoring through Equifax.
