"I'm sure you've seen their You-tube videos.
Just their basic intro video disc alone, is enough to make you want to buy their hobby kit & get started screen printing. Six stars for that.
I picked up the basic kit, needing to also pick up a quality photo inkjet printer (see my review on the Epson 1400), & other supplies & pieces.
I had a couple pre sales questions & am very happy with how quickly they were answered. It seems like everyone there cares if you order or not, a nice touch.
So, the kit comes to me with free shipping, seeing they are a few towns away, it came pretty fast. Not what I thought I was ordering (gee what a surprise there). It was more of a poor product description or rather, contents listing. They have a listing for "your own products needed to make this work", a frame for the light source wasn't listed. I will say that it wasn't listed in the product (included) check off. To make matters worse, one of the most important pieces looked as though someone was hammering. Totally unusable. I shot an e-mail to one of the reps, (who had answered the above question for me). Anyhow, with in an hour she had the solution, an explanation, as well as an apology for me. I am very happy with that.
I probably could make a stand myself, but figured the price would be a bit more than what I was getting it for. Plus they were already sending me a scoop.
I get a confirmation, a tracking number & a receipt before I refresh my e-mail screen. Next day I have the upgrade & scoop. Which BTW, I can keep the old one & salvage parts from, very nice touch!
I didn't just get a stand for my light. NOPE, I got the stand, a plate of glass & another complete light unit!! Yes, I AM VERY PLEASED with Ryonet!!! They have more than made up for any errors.
Their basic video explains the process of making single color Tee shirts, as if the owner actually cares that you do. Something unpracticed in the US, but by a few of us.
The kit does come with everything to make a few (like 100) T-shirts. Paint, gloves, cleaner, screen, I mean everything, even a stick for stirring. An upgrade will give you double the chemicals, & when you start out, you know you are going to make mistakes that are less than perfect, but, there is plenty in the kit, to make tons of mistakes with. They even say to practice on an old shirt, saving your good ones for later. On the video, Ryan even explains that white is going to be the hardest, & "walks" you through the process.
I've ordered shirts from the "sister" or friend company before & deleted the coupon for Ryonet, never thinking I'd do shirts (I edit & render videos & slide show memories). So you can get some great prices on shirts, with a coupon back from the shirt place, for the chemicals that you'll use later, quite nice.
If you're thinking of trying your hand at this, I suggest picking up their kit. I will say, this isn't for everyone, as there are many steps before you get your first shirt. Time, light sources, fans, time, a sink, time, a very good inkjet (to use with the kit) or monochrome laser printer (if you want to go that route later), time, a work area, time. . . you get the idea. But if you want to print white on black, than screen printing is the way to go. If you want to make a couple neat shirts for a party yourself, it'll cost around 400.00 for that Yudu kid's toy looking thing, or a buck & a half (to 200.00) for the Ryonet starter kit. You get tons of stuff in the Ryonet kit that you won't with the other one. Not that any of this is easy. It's very messy, time consuming & quite frustrating, every step of the way. The good part is, that you have ample stuff to keep practicing with. I'd strongly suggest starting with the thinner black ink, till you get a feel for it.
Bottom line, they are a professional company that works with their customers. Answering questions & concerns. They have training & videos, even free videos."
