"This is the first time I have ordered from SJ Media systems. I was looking for Hellermann Tyton Laser Labels for wire marking an install project. I needed them quickly and as inexpensively as possible. I found the company through a web search for the product number I was looking for and SJ Media was the least expensive on the list. They delivered the correct product within two days of my order. Everything has been correct and smooth so far."

"I feel I should tell people about my experience with SJ Media Systems. I needed some items by May 13, so called on May 5 to make sure they had them in stock (they do not list a phone number on their web site -- you need to email them to get a number "for ordering only"). The representative assured me that they had the items in stock in sufficient quantities to fill my order and that it should be "no problem to get them to me by May 13." On May 11, I had not had any communication from them other than an email confirming my order (although they had charged my credit card) so I called them on their order number. The only help they could give was to give me an email address of their parent company, and said the email would be answered "in 24 to 48 hours". They did answer by the next morning, informing me that the items were on back order until May 28! I rush ordered similar items from another vendor and cancelled my order with SJ Media Systems. They offered me a 5% discount on the order to keep it open, but I refused and asked for a refund, and they did refund my money right away.
Negatives:
1. They lied about the in-stock availability of the parts.
2. They promised to have them to me by a date that they had no way of guaranteeing.
3. They do not provide a customer service phone number on their web site.
4. They charged my credit card when the order was placed, not when it was shipped (they may have stated that they would do this, I didn't check; but it's not usually done that way.)
5. The order phone number worked for customer service, but they couldn't give me any real-time info about the order.
6. Their prices were significantly higher than MarkerTek's where I placed the rush order.
7. The Order Status link which they sent in the confirmation email did not give any status information.
Positive:
1. They promptly refunded my money when I cancelled the order.

"We purchased an ESE unit from this company specifically because they had it listed as "In Stock". We emailed before we purchased this unit and asked their sales department if they truly had it in stock. Their reply was that they indeed had it in stock and it would ship quickly.
Well, that was 2 weeks ago without so much as an email with the tracking number. The credit card was charged the day after placing the order and we received and email with a "tracking number" link. From the very beginning the tracking number has not worked and the web link that it brings up simply states that there was an issue with the tracking number and that we should contact them. I have sent multiple emails with only one response: "We are checking on the status of that now for you and will get back with you shortly." That a week ago with no response or follow up. They have forced us to cancel the order with them, and if that is to much of a hassle we will have to call Amex to get them to take care of it. I hope they put SJ Media systems and all of their subsidiaries on their Fraudulent Seller list.
I also tried calling them, good luck with that dead end. They won't transfer you to anyone about anything, no matter who you ask for. And their standard answer is that you should email sales for any info. Even when I asked for the ladies Manager, he just happened to be in a meeting. I left a voice mail for him and that was almost a week ago.
Please take my advice, DO NOT purchase from these con artists. They will tell you anything to get your money and then they just string you along hoping to finally someday get the product in to ship it to you at the slowest rate possible."

"I would highly suggest that you avoid this reseller. I had a nightmare with being shipped the wrong product and then getting the door shut for any type of customer service. They do not reply back to phone messages or email. I ended up disputing the charge on my credit card and forced SJ to refund my money (minus 15% and shipping which added up to $40). All this hassle, time, and expense for a wrong product shipped! I went on to purchase this cable from Westlake Electronics and I had a great experience. I have ordered more cable from Westlake and I would highly recommend them! Avoid SJ Media or any of their other sister companies. E-commerce sites such as this are the type that give the web such a bad reputation for online buying."
