Bad for the hobby.

"Little is said about the company at a retail level.
They continue to sell products below MAP and which over retail history has proven to push out professionals and brick and mortar stores. You can purchase items cheaper on this site than the manufactures site with a wholesale discount. This is how we lose great products in the industries and how local experts close up shops.
No real aquatic professionals here. Can't be with selling so many items. Please consider supporting aquatic professionals.

"Bought over $800 in saltwater equipment I was expecting a catalog / magazine as it stated it would be shipped with orders over 400 talked to customer service and I got some chum saying next time you order ask for the freebies ....what!!! I have to ask you for them when it states you would send them with orders $400 or more again I ordered over $800 a good customer service rep would have confirmed my order with the # and shipped the magazine/catalog asap free that cost them 3k as I was going to purchase a tank or two glad I got to know how they are before I spent $6k-$8k smh"

"We were curious as to when our order would be shipped and I'm sorry I can't remember his name was very friendly and stated that the shipment they had received wasn't the best, so they were waiting for a better shipment. We received our order today. We were blown away with what they had sent us. Beautiful, colorful, perfect rockflowers. Thank you so very much! We will definitely order again.

Zero issue with my tank order

"I felt the need to review this company because the 1.42 star rating had me apprehensive to order from them. I ordered a fluval flex 32.5 gallon tank. They were the only place that had a white tank and the ability to ship it. Their price was $80 cheaper than PetSmart (black tank). They shipped it out within a day and it arrived via UPS well packaged and without damage. I can’t speak to others experiences but I can say that I am very satisfied."

Best pod supplier

"Have ordered multiple times from them - have always had great success on receiving my pods quickly with the majority of them swimming/alive. Most recently they shipped me the incorrect item - their customer service response was quick with no negative experience. They requested a photo of the mistake and once received they immediately sent the correct item. Not sure if I was just lucky - but my experience was nothing described in previous reviews. "

Awful

"I purchased the 200 galling CUC. 1/4 of the snails and crabs were dead I’m guessing because they didn’t ship over night like advertised. After acclimating the rest I added to my tank, 3 days later everything was dead, Including fish because my tanks parameters started to crash bad. So $300 for a dead CUC plus $400 worth of fish gone. My next step is to get In Touch with the BBB after this review. "

Worst company ever

"Purchased several cleanup crews from them, one 25 gal and one 50 gal. On the first delivery all of the Astrea snails where died and half of the crabs, since this was my first time and they did say some may parish I lived with it. On the second order they all where died or in the process of dying, it was so bad my tank began to smell and as I removed them I realized they were decaying in my tank so I began removing all that I thought was died by the time I finished removing the dead one it was every snail and crab they sent!!!! When reached out they said send a picture I did but it was a picture of the first ones I removed but as time went on I had to remove all and clean my tank. Can you believe they asked for a picture of all the dead creatures even though the first picture captured more than half.

Terrible company and customer service, no service recovery at all but I guess they don’t need everyone’s money as long as they have new victims they stay in business….never will they get my business or any of my reefer community groups money!

Do I have to give 1 star?

"I recently order the Shark ADV 400 for my 20 gallon planted tank. What I received was a used canister, most other parts were new, but the even flow attachment for the more gentle option was missing from the package. Also the whole box it came in was beat up beyond what could have happened in the package, worn corners with missing pieces of the box itself. It was obvious to me that these things had been stuffed back into the box before it was shipped. The tiny little instruction manuals were nearly in a ball. It was a very disappointing experience and at least for now I will not be ordering from saltwateraquarium.com. Free shipping is nice, used products not so much. I guess after making their millions quality isn't a high priority, since I've been emailing and sending Facebook messages for 3 days with no response"
