"Scott's Bait & Tackle (www.pennparts.com) offered free shipping on all items as a special promotion. I needed an $.85 part for one of my Penn reels, so I thought what the heck, I'll see if they really meant "any" order. Well they did. They advised me on the correct part and shipped my $.85 part just as if it was a $200 part. It was boxed and well packed to protect it from damage. They could have easily said the promotion was a mistake in this case, but they didn't. They were good to their word. If they treat someone that well when servicing an $.85 cent item, I would not hesitate recommending them to anyone. This is one stellar company with excellent customer service."
"I recently purchased two items from this store. They didn't have one of the items in the color I wanted. They refunded me in cash (I paid online) and also shipped me a replacement item in a different color, free of charge. They have won me as a customer for life! "Purchased a Jon-E handwarmer and fluid for my wife from Scott's Bait & Tackle, not knowing what to expect. As a computer tech, most of the online ordering I do is from larger, well-known companies like Newegg. That said, this was a hard to find item, and Scott's was the cheapest place I could find it that also sold the fluid to go with it.
Website was simple and relatively easy to navigate, obviously not up to the standards of the online giants, but good for a small business. The ordering system was simple and gave good information. Confirmation emails were quick and accurate.
Here's what truly impressed me. They were closed on Tuesday, which was plainly stated on their website. I ordered Monday night, late, hoping that they would ship Wednesday (when they were open again) and I might receive the shipment Friday for my wife's birthday.
But no- even though they're closed Tuesday, they still processed the order and shipped via UPS Ground that day. I received the item Wednesday, early morning on the UPS truck, less than 36 hours after I'd ordered.
My email to them regarding how impressed I was:
"Wanted to let you know how impressed I was with my order I just received today (Order #710). Ordered Monday night, saw that you were closed Tuesday, was expecting the order to ship today, hoping I received the order Friday. Instead, shipped yesterday, received today. Awesome- good prices (found you doing a search for Jon-E hand warmers) and reasonable shipping cost. Will definitely look you up again if this hand warmer does the trick.
