Opened and missing items, twice!

"I ordered 2 items, a setting spray and a kit that came with a foundation, primer and powder. I never really shop at Sephora but I really wanted to try this foundation and setting spray. I got the kit because it was only a few dollars more than the foundation itself. When my order arrived, the shipping box looked fine and was not damaged at all. Then when I opened the box, the kit looked like it was tampered so I went to pick it up and the primer and powder fell right out and the cap to the powder was unscrewed and there was NO foundation! I checked the setting spray and the cap was also off and it felt like it was only 75% full. None of the items were sealed at all. I had an Ulta order that same day for 20 items and they all came sealed so you could tell nothing was opened. I contacted customer service and was informed that they would send me another kit, free of charge and 2 more sample products for the inconvenience. A week later and nothing, checked the status of the order and it was still in processing status. For my original order I had paid extra for 2 day shipping and it's been about 2 weeks now and 50% of my order (because I only ordered 2 products) still hasn't arrived! I contacted customer service again and asked them to just refund me and coincidentally 2 hours later my order shipped, then I got an email saying they couldn't refund me anymore because it already shipped. 2 days later I got the package and guess what??? The kit was opened and there was again NO foundation and no sample products. Was so annoyed I didn't even bother with contacting customer service again. Will just get it from Amazon, sad that Amazon is more reliable than an actual makeup store."

Sephora's Store Credit is Archaic

"
I made a purchase online of an expensive dry bar hair dryer (it was awful... my hair got stuck and it burned me, but that is besides the point). It had no inner packaging or return label so I popped into a Sephora near me... The return was quick, I was a day past my 30 so the lady said they were gonna issue store credit. Cool I thought.... as I always buy stuff online. This was the first time I ever got store credit instead of a refund and it came to my surprise that I could not use the store credit for online purchases?! the kicker is... this was not explained to me... This is the only retail store I have EVER heard of that does not allow you to use store credit online. I usually only shop online because work keeps me busy but I do spend....
Since I made the return two weeks ago...and now the stores aren't opened. I made a compliant by phone. I got "well you can use it in a few months...." Almost $200 in purgatory. What a stupid way to handle the customer experience. We live in an a technologically advanced world with people who have accessibility issues... and now that the stores are closed for an undetermined amount of time... all the more reason to change the archaic method of fund allocation for returns / exchanges.

The lack of transparency by the cashier who "refunded" me is absolutely WRONG. SEPHORA you need to update this policy. It is ridiculous.

The good outweighs the bad

"I’ve been shopping at Sephora throughout the years, mostly online. There are some things I don’t agree with, like their change up on rogue shipping, a lot of orders since the beginning of the year have been taking way longer than what I’m used to to arrive. And a few times my order had arrived without any of my sample picks. But any single time I have an issue with product or shipping and I contact them, they always go above and beyond to take care of it. They’ve replaced products free of charge, expedited shipping that was taking too long, resent a full order when the carrier lost my package. They also have the best rewards program. I freaking love Sephora and will forever be a Sephora customer. "

Used to good but not so much anymore...

"I always went back and forth between Sephora and Ulta. Over the last couple of years I feel the customer service at Sephora has dropped considerably. I used to favor Sephora over Ulta or a brand's site because they offered samples and gifts for points. Now 80% of the time they substitute the samples and gifts for lower end quality stuff and really smaller sizes. What keeps me shopping at Sephora? Not much anymore...I can get the exact same thing at the same price (and sometimes cheaper to free shipping) at the brand's site - and quicker too."

Site allows sales of out of stock products!

"Placed an time-sensitive (Christmas present) order on 12/14. Sephora canceled my order late in the day 4 days later, telling me the item was no longer in stock! WHY on earth would you allow me to place an order for something that wasn't in stock?! Customer service was apologetic but offered no explanation as to why their site allows sales for out of stock items. This really caused a lot of hassle for me. "

Worse customer care ever

"I’ve been shopping from Sephora for years. I’m a rouge member. But lately I’m having problems with my orders, this is second time I haven’t received an order from them. It’s been extremely frustrating how they have handled my situation for the past weeks, and some of the representative have no clue on what to do, when I call Sephora they tell me to wait for a call from the shipping company which never happened I had to call them because it was taking way too long, and when I call the shipping company they tell me to call Sephora to file a claim. Everyone is bouncing me back and forth. And I’m never shopping again from them."

The worst customer care ever

"I tried to buy FOUR times at their website. I tried paying using Paypal, Mastercard and Visa. Created orders #7981879334, #7984199510, #7998817115 and #8056709348. All of them were rejected for my "own security and protection", according to sephora. I contacted them about all four orders and the answer was always the same automatic one: "To successfully place orders on our website, the billing address must be based in one of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, UK, Ukraine and Venezuela."
Well, it´s obvious they have a big problem on theis billing system, because I bought lots of stuff at Amazon.com and Godiva, using the very same international credit card and NEVER got a problem regarding this issue.
The thing that upset me most was that they didn't give a sh* for the problem I was facing. Just kept on answering with premade answers and "do it again" [you fool].
I'll never buy there again. And I'll spread the word about it.
